It's a European thing I don't understand as an American. Europeans are supposed to have relaxed attitudes toward "relations" yet 50% of hotel rooms on our trip call a double bed two single beds put together. This is NOT a double bed. We asked for a room with a (real) double bed if possible. U.S. hotels all have either 1 or 2 double beds and never a single bed. Yes this is a rant ... but otherwise my wife and I had no complaints. The staff was helpful; the breakfast buffet, location near restaurants, wonderful. Europeans, help me to understand why Euro hotels don't have double beds. Thanks.

Excellent receptionist services, clean modern rooms and good location for metro lines and other tourist locations. Good healthy Asian fusion cuisine offered at a restaurant called the "Wok" in the Plaza de Espana by Starbucks which is about 3 blocks from the hotel. We stayed 5 nights in Madrid and went to Toledo and El Escorial which was well worth the time.

Really nice hotel - excellent, fresh and spacy rooms with small kitchen zone, new furniture, excellent staff. A little bit overpriced breakfast but there are a lot of places to eat arround. Just 5 minutes walk to Plaza de Espana so location is very good.

good value for money. Internet in room didn't work so had to use the one computer terminal in lobby. Bed was a bit hard. no utensils to use in the lovely little kitchenette. Close to buses and metro and the theatre district.

Hotel moderno y bonito. Habitaciones grandes. Baños chicos. Internet fijo disponible free. TV grande. Frigobar. Aire acondicionado. Buen barrio.

Simply saying the stay at the hotel was excellent (January / 08). The hotel has a perfect location in a quiet street but in a walking distance to the heart of the city. The room was furnished comfortably especially beds were lovely. There is even a small kitchen unit in the room where you can cook, but no dishware is provided at the spot. Bathroom is OK, only bottom in the bathtub becomes slippy when you take shower so be aware to do not injure yourself. Room was extremely quiet during whole night so we had comfortable sleep. A room service was also perfect. For breakfast you can visit shopping area at "Calle de Princesse". Just go from the hotel up the "J.A.Mendizabal" street and turn the right on. On opposite corner there is "Black Swan" restaurant where we had good lunch and few cold beers in the night. Madrid is the beautiful city with friendly people, and nice places to see. The only negative experience was we had pickpoketing at the metro lines, especially at the line leading from/to airport take care about your cameras and bags. D&V

Good clean hotel with quite spacious room. Staff are friendly, speak good English and generally helpful .. not quite as good in recommending good restaurants. Located about 15 min walk from the main shopping area & most tourist sights. Overall good value place to stay & I wld highly recommend it to those who don't mind the extra walk.

It is a very good hotel with modern design. location is perfect. If you do not want to waste your time there is a metro station just five minites walk from the hotel otherwise you can easily reach old Madrid, all museums walking by foot. The roayal palace is nearby the hotel as well. I would recommend to stay in this hotel. Only one thing looked a little bit strange for us. The kitchen in the room is announced on the website. And there is a kitchen but you can not use it since there is no any plates and dishes, tea kettle. What for the kitchen is shown on the photos as the advantage of the hotel?

very modern hotel, impressive in style and furnishing. great location just a few steps from the Royal Palace. somewhat cold athmosphere but adequate for a city hotel. integrated kitchen was very useful and almost completely equipped. minus point: it is not cleaned with the room and no cleaning devices are provided.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable. It was conveniently located two blocks from the Plaza de Espana and two metro stops. The staff was very professional and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to friends and would stay there again. The only issue we had with this hotel was with the size of the bathroom which, while functional, was very small.

It's a very nice hotel located close to Plaza de Espana. I would surely suggest it. Actually I did not have breakfast so I can not say anything about its quality. By the way, it seems a bit pricey.

This Irish couple stayed for a short 3 day city break. Close to Metro, friendly staff, spacious rooms, quiet and we paid a very reasonable price. Next time in Madrid we will certainly stay here. Go for it.

Pay attention when taking a shower, you might flood the bathroom! A real pity such a good hotel has no protection around the shower

This was a really great hotel. The location was outstanding - just a 5 minute walk from a subway stop, and from Plaza de Espana. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and booked restaurant and show reservations for us. The rooms were very modern and quite clean. The hotel does face an elementary school, and so it was fairly loud in the morning during the week. If you want to sleep in, I would request a room not facing the school. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.
