Great location in Madrid, we were able to walk everywhere. The neighborhood is a little dicey but we didn't have any problems. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful and all spoke some english. The room was fine although the lighting in the bathroom was bad. Our room had a view of the courtyard of the hotel next door which has a hanging garden and waterfall. This hotel had the best breakfast we found in Spain. They gave us a coupon at the desk which gave us two breakfasts for 16 euros. We reccomend the hop on hop off red tour bus to see the city first and then go to the sites you really want to see.

This would have been a much better stay if only the breakfast area had been cleaner. It was awfully dirty, even the plates weren`t clean. The lousy coffe mashine was also a down turn. But really; they should make sure the breakfast area is not greasy and covered with crumbles. You could clearly see that this was several days of "old" dirt.

This is a good hotel with helpful and English-speaking staff. The only problem we had was with the air conditioner. We had to open the window, because despite being set to cool, the unit operated like a heater. We're now staying with another hotel in the same group, which has the same problem.

But this time they talk down to us and were very inderferent.you would think they would want repeat clients but they did not even know that we were repeat clients. Even breakfast was of lower qualty this year poor management. WELL NEXT YEAR WE WILL TRY A DEFERENT HOTEL THEY HAVE LOST US. But they probaly don't care

We really enjoyed my stay there, we were celebrating a 30th birthday. Thought bike rentals was really cool and we had a lovely time. Decor in hotel was classy & tasteful. Loved the showers/water sprays and it was very accessible to city and staff were friendly and helpful considering we were lazy and didn't really try to speak the language. Thanks for a lovely time Niamh

We were three friends who wanted to visit madrid from a central area. The hotel is a small boutique hotel, clean and well positioned to visit all the main areas of the town. A few paces far from the underground, it's possible to reach the central Madrid by foot and there are a lot of shops and restaurant in the area.

It's location is excellent (just off Plaza Santo Domingo on San Bernardo Street and Santo Domingo Metro Stop). We were able to walk 10 - 15 min to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Sol, etc., basically any central area. We even walked back from the Prado area via Sol. The area feels safe, the Gran via is at the end of the street. Grand Via is maybe a little seedy at night, but seems safe and its busy with foot traffic. Also the Metro system in Madrid is excellent and the Santo Domingo stop is less than a block away(Main entrance is on the Plaza de Santa Domingo and a second, small entrance is on Grand Via). We stayed in a Quad-family room as we have two older teenagers and they slept in bunk beds which were okay. Some of the room's ceilings are low and both my son and I had to duck under the doorway to the bathroom. The room was on the sixth floor and had a skylight and a window. With the windows closed the room was too warm (Mid March). We kept the window open to get a comfortable temperature. From the back patio of a nearby pub we were treated to a St Patrick's day singer until about 2am on Saturday Night. There are were ~6 different light switch controls on the beds headboard. I tripped the room circuit breaker when trying to get the right combination of lighting and had to get the front desk to reset it. We enjoyed the free juices, water and coffee from 12:00 to 23:00. These were appreciated before/after mid-afternoon siesta and before bed. We did not try the breakfast buffet, but instead walked to the nearby Plaza De Callao for a Churros Con Chocolate experiance at a cafe recommended by Rick Steves. - Central Location. - Clean and modern. - 2 internet stations with free access. - Free wireless internet in rooms. - Good Shower - lcd tv (CNN and BBC international) - Complementary Juices and Hot beverage bar from 12:00 to 23:00. -Quad rooms available. All in all a good set-up and we'd stay here again.

The room was small. The shower had a thermostat and would never get hot. I requested several times that it be adjusted so I could take a hot shower instead of a warm shower. The request was met with smiles and assurances that it would be done but it was never fixed the whole time I was there. The location ws very convenient. I think there are other non-chain hotels which offer more for the money.

We spent 2 nights in Madrid and really enjoyed our stay at Petit Palace. The location was perfect for us as we were able to walk to the market and other attractions. There were many interesting eating areas nearby. We found our room to be very clean and quite spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It would have been nice to have free coffee available in the morning as we always had to walk a block or so to pick some up. Otherwise it was great and the location perfect.

First time we went to Madrid. Came at night and were friendly greated. Super location in the center of Madrid. Easy to get around and no need for other transportation - but it was not a problem to get a taxi, bus ect. they were to find around every corner. Stayed in a room for 4 people, no problems at all. Big enough, and the beds were comfortable. Really nice bathroom with a big masage shower. Totally cleaned every day. We can certinatly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is at a prime location. It is in the center of it all and walking-distance to anything. The room was very small. The whole hotel was small. I made the mistake of scractching my eye with the blanket while sleeping and I contracted conjunctivitis (pink eye) the next day. So, obviously it was dirty. The room had a great A/C unit (very powerful).

Hotel right on a plaza, Plaza Sto. Domingo, full of restaurants, shops, antique shops, tapas bars ans only 50 meters from Gran Via. We booked a family room for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 16 year olds. The room was compact but we were not under each others feet, it had a well stocked mini bar, full sky tv on a large flat screen monitor and complimentary internet access through a lap top.The bathroom was large and the power shower was superb, constant hot water.Breakfast was quoted at 9 euros per person, a little expensive I thought, so we chose to eat out.For 10 euros continental breakfast is available for 4 people in the roof restaurant at the local dept. store together with a fantastic view over the city. There are many other cafes near bye.The hotel is really well situated for all the main points of interest, and especially for those who like to shop! In conclusion the hotel was great value for money, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Madrid

The location of the hotel is very good, less than a block from la Gran Via and, minutes to puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. The metro is just 2 minutes waking. The hotel is near to many kinds of restaurants, atraccions and shops. They offer us advice where to go and even did restaurant reservations for us. The fact of having computer in the room is so useful. The common areas are small, but nice and confortable. Staff is very friendly and always trying to help. The only thing I would ask is to include breakfast in the prince of the room...it is very convenient for turist and give a plus in the service. At the moment next to the hotel there is a building under construction, wich is not so nice, but once that is finished the complete plaza (which is infront of the hotel) will be a very pretty place.

A good hotel for a short stay stay, well equipped rooms in a good location. Public transport services the area well, all points accessible. Staff were polite and professional. Room was well furnished, recent refurbishment was eveident. Double glazed room protects against sound of workmen refurbishing adjoining block. Hard to criticise as it was perfect for needs, but founf satelite TV limited and the hotel itself is not well signed.
