It is a very dark hotel...the lighting is somewhat poor for reading in the rooms. On the other hand, there are light controls next to the bed for adjusting all of the lights in the room and bathroom with one click.. The location is quite good, on Gand Via, and the rooms were quiet at night. It has a cool bar on the roof for drinks at night, overlooking the city.

Overall, we give Vincci 66 above average reviews but with minor problems that did not detract from a great value of $108 Euros per night. It's a contemporary hotel, close to Metro and buses that will get you anywhere in Madrid. You're a 10 minute walk to the Royal Palace, and to the Plaza del Sol. Minor issues: Room safe is too small to handle a small laptop computer. If your room faces Gran Via, despite sound-proofing, you will hear sirens at night. The shower water pressure is just okay - not great. Air conditioning is above average, but the room never cooled to the set temperature. Plus, the air blows directly on you as you sleep. However, the bed blanket kept us sufficiently warm. The room is smallish - but we could navigate well. Front desk staff doesn't really know the area near the hotel all that well. We didn't pay for breakfast - too expensive. Starbucks is located 2 minutes away walking time. In room free Ethernet internet is very good. The room was spotless and contemporary. The lighting system (once you figure it out) is quite efficient. The bed was quite comfortable. If we could get a good rate, I would stay next time in the Salamanca neighborhood - as it is very trendy, with great shopping.

The Hotel is very good located, very convenient to the city centre and to main transportation. I was just a little disappointed by the welcoming, the reception staff is very kind, however we received no help with the luggage: please note that there are steps to get into the hotel, which is not a problem to me, however if you have to lift the luggage yourself while the staff is looking at you giving no help at all..Then you have to lift them again to reach the lift, and here again no porter, no help. Secondly, I found the standard room very nice but with very little closet, no drawers, no space to put the empty luggages. I asked to see other rooms and I was given the keys, but I expected a receptionist to take me to the rooms and show them to me not to be left alone.. I'd say a very "self service hotel" for some aspects. Giovanna

Very well placed for discovering Madrid by walking! The only negative point was a supplementary bed in our room (we hadn't asked for it, we were only two!) that made the room smaller. We didn't ask the friendly staff to remove it because we stayed only one night.

I went in Madrid for plasure (I've seen as more museums and exposition as possible) and ... Vincci Via-66 has been part of that plasure. Clean, quiet, very very kind, in the middle of the most important and central street of the City... I'm going to return very soon in that wonderful hotel!

Very, very nice hotel. Friendly and service minded staff. The location is 1st class. No use for taxi in the city area. The roof terrace is superb. One suggestion: Try the Segway tour www.madseg.com. It starts 300m from the hotel (Plaza Espana). Something to remember.

The hotel has a roof terrace open for drinks from 7pm, the view is excellent. Sadly the waitress was extremely slow and had to fit room service into her duties which made the experience painful. Hotel overall though - excellent spot, clean and good value.

A great location in the middle of happening, a fantastic rooftop terrace. Room a bit on the small side and a second chair needed. Quaint furnishings between a contemporary techno style and 'bordello' but visually striking. A fantastic and spacious bathroom (my favorite). Hotel of this caliber should have Internet free, like its competitors. Despite of this, I would come back.

Be alert at the metro or crouded areas, Madrid was the only place in europe where somebody tried to still my wallet, no violence but not fun

We first arrived at Vincci and were blown away by how beautiful the room was. The manager helped us to change our reservations we had for another hotel so we could stay here. Overall this hotel is beautiful and has awesome bathrooms. The only exception was that the last day we stayed the concierge man told us the breakfast was included (which it was not) and quoted us a much higher price than what was originally agreed upon with the manager. We had to pay 20 euro higher than we thought for the room and then paid 24 euro for the breakfast we thought was free! If he had not told us that we would have just left to the airport without spending a ridiculous amount for breakfast. Although we loved the decor and cleanliness of this hotel, the incompetence of the staff left a bitter taste. Don't know if I'd come back here.

Vincci Via 66 is an excellent hotel centrally located in the "Broadway of Madrid" - walking distance to cozy cafés and restaurants. Highly recommendable for both business and pleasure. Well done - Michael Leander http://meemoo2.com If you are planning on working, beware that the desks are quite small

Excellent location for this hotel. we stayed on 10th floor (which is the highest), that captured a perfect view for the city. rooms are detailed enough to cater the different settings/mode for lighting. very recommendable.
