Excellent hotel which is very clean, in an excellent location. Breakfast was also very good. My only complaint was having to use the public car park, 300 m away , which cost 44 euros from 1pm sat-- 6pm sunday. At least a customer discount would ease the pain somewhat!! Otherwise, very satisfied with hotel and again, with venere.

As far as accommodation and facilities go Hotel H10 is above average. What can be improved upon is the hospitality that is sorely missing. An unfriendly receptionist admonished us when we arrived for not letting the hotel know my daughter and I needed separate beds. We requested twin beds but somewhere in translation this request seemed to be lost. At breakfast guests were treated like petty criminals - staff pounced upon guests to demand room numbers, there were signs indicating that any food taken away will be charged and waiters literally hovered at the table to supervise. There was one exception and that was a young man who cheerfully helped when the internet did not work - the rest of the staff need to relax and smile once in a while.

Very nice hotel, well-situated, gently staff, clean and large rooms, breakfast with tortilla, good ham and etc, walking distance from the three mainly museums (don't loose Thissen Bonhemisa Museum), very close to Gran Via metro station, nice bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood: in "Chueca" and in "La Latina" (Calle Alta and Calle Baja). We'd also recommend a restaurant named Botin, the oldest in the world according to Guiness Book. It's a good idea if you have time to visit the medieval town of Toledo (don't miss the Cathedral and also the marzipan to eat); Segovia (don't miss the Alcazar); Aranjuez; El Escorial and Avila.

I traveled to spain with my family. We have 3 10 year olds. We booked 2 rooms and we had plenty of space, one of the rooms looked out over the Gran via. The Hotel staff were very courteous and polite. We stayed a few days in Madrid then stayed a week at Costa Mijas. If you get a chance go to Gibraltar and do the Tunnels and Monkey excursion. My kids and I will never forget this experience. You can't read this in a book, it's just not the same.

It was an excellent stay overall, except one little part where a receptionist broke our fragile glass jar that we'd bought and had been handling so carefully from Alicante and all he said was 'sorry'.

My wife and I took a January break in Madrid, mostly leisure with some work added in. We found the hotel top class in that the location is superb and the facilities were exactly what we had been promised by the Venere description. The real bonus was excellent Wifi reception in our bedroom which made the work segment very easy. The breakfast was more than adequate but otherwise we did not eat in the hotel. There was a large range of top class restaurants in the area which is right in the centre of the city and only 3 mins walk from Puerto del Sol. The Metro system is superb but when travelling to and from the airport I would recommend a taxi. We struggled to find our way from the airport but for just Euro 23 we got a taxi to our terminal on the return journey. We would thoroughly recommend the H10 Villa de Reina and will stay there if ever returning.

Thelocation on Gran Via is excellent - literally across the street from the Gran Via metro exit. There were a few closed store fronts closeby that don't look too appealing. the room size is adequate with a good size bathroom. A good value at 100 euros a night for the location and the hotel.

Hotel is located near the Gran Via station and right by lots of bars and restaurants. It is a longer walk to the flea market and museums. Hotel lobby is a little gloomy and dark but the triple room we had was very clean but small. There was almost no room to put anything else. However, the airconditioning was working great. Would stay there again.

All was great except for the restaurant. I did eat there rather late (just before closing), but still the food quality was quite poor: mushy risotto and a terrible shredded duck dish, which I couldn't eat.

We stayed 5 days and mostly liked the spaciousness of the room, the full set of accessories and the position in the Grand Via, which allowed us to reach most of the intersting sites by feet. May be a bit expensive, but excellent.

Larger hotel that might during the week cater to more business clientele. We were there on a Friday night, and we had a signficantly discounted rate, that to our surprise included what would have normally been a 14 Euro per person breakfast (which was very, very complete). Gran Via is a good central location from which to see the sights. We were a bit surprised to see ladies of the evening within a few blocks of the hotel, but they, the crowds, some entertainers and many police seemed to peacefully co-exist.

It is a great hotel and perfect location: it's right in between Prada and Royal Palace, very close to everything. Employees are very professional and welcoming, the room is located to the side of the stairs - eliminate some noise; the room itself (609, i belief), was very clean and neet, the balcony and a scale in the bathroom was a great plus - i loved the hotel, would definitely stay there again - it worths it it was a last min. booking, but i think the peice was very reasonabe thank you, H10 thank you, venere.com inna

The H10 Villa de la Reina is right on the Gran Via, about 30 metres from the metro and around the corner from Fuencarral, one of the most funky shopping streets in Madrid. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, one getting us a reservation on a Saturday night at a great local restaurant after trying five others for us. The room my partner and I were given was very large, and the beds were comfortable. Our friend Lisa had a smaller double room, but still big enough to be comfortable. The bathrooms were palatial. While you couldn't hear anything from the traffic on Gran Via, the walls themselves were a bit thin (which meant you could hear doors shutting and showers running). However, this wasn't a huge inconvenience in the grand scheme of things (especially as we partied until quite late in the bars of Chueca which are literally a 3 minute walk away). I would definitely go back here if I was in Madrid again.

This hotel is in a very privaleged location. There is a metro stop opposite (gran via)and you are a short stroll from all the major sights and attractions. For the price we paid I think it would be hard to better it. I have allready recommended it to my family and friends. If we were to return to Madrid I wouldnt hesitate to re-book this hotel.

The room itself distroys the holidays! there was even no table inside. also the service was very poor. for example, on weekend they were not ready to wash or iron anything of guests cloth! The hotel itself is ok, the place in town is just perfekt, but unfortunately all that is killed by the poorness of the room.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was told there were no rooms available due to some problems in the When I arrived at the hotel, I was told there were no rooms available due to some problems in the hotel and they had to block off some rooms. I was bothered because they checked in a party right in front of me. I was told I would be transferred to another 4 star hotel within walking distance. I was transferred to the 7 Isle Hotel, which is two blocks off of the main street. There was a sex shop across the street and a lot of prostitutes across from the hotel. It was late so I did not complain. The hotel seemed less then 4 stars, the public area was that of a two star hotel. Then we discovered, this hotel had plumbing problems. There was no hot water to take a shower with. The water was very cold! The bathroom was in poor shape and had mildew stains on the ceiling from previous plumbing problems. I went back to H10 Villa de la Reina in the morning to complain about the hotel I was transferred to was not acceptable. The hotel staff did not seem to understand my discomfort with the surroundings of the 7 Isle Hotel. I was very firm regarding my feeling about the hotel and I was transferred to Senator Gran Via Hotel. This hotel was beautiful and worth the stay. The front desk staff was great. Throughout the day, they have beverages for you at the front desk to greet you with. I wish my entire stay was at the Senator Gran Via Hotel. The room was very spacious and I had a great room over looking the city.

The hotel is a great value for the money. The rooms lobby and rooms were both very nice, clean and spacious. The only problem I had was the hallway. The hallways are very dark, which was completely unlike the lobby or the rooms, which are bright and sunny. Also, the maid's closet was apparently directly our room, because we heard her slamming the door all morning long while we were trying to sleep in.

The room was too small and the air conditioned was difficult to control - most of the times it was too hot in the room. The service at the bar should be improved. For ? 64 for a double room in the most central and elegant street of Madrid, this hotel is a very good choice. The room had space enough for two peopple and large luggages. The breakfast wasn't included and we did pay for it separately (?28), but it was very good. We weren't provided with full information at the reception (most of the time guarded by young people evidently in their period of practice), but I think it happened due of the moment. The only weak point for a four star hotels was, although, that anybody helped us with the luggages, both at check-in and check-out time. A good hotel, anyway.

Beware when booking single room: the first room I had was tiny, just enought space for the bed and a bed-side table. No table and chair to sit at to write, etc. Got upgraded to a larger room at my request, no charge, and the second room was spacious, but had no cooling, only heating: the room was too hot when the weather outside was warm! A good point: the hotel provided at no cost an internet connection in the room, and supplied the cable to connect to the guest's PC: excellent service! Overall: satisfactory stay

Disappointed with the size of the rooms we were given. We were staying 4 nights and the wardrobe was not large enough to hold our clothes and there was nowhere to store suitcases. I had expected better from a 4 star hotel. Apart from the size of the room everything else was fine and the staff were very helpful and made several rtestaurant reservations for us.

This hotel is very well located for visiting and all the key tourist areas, as well as the main shopping area. Staff at hotel very helpful and spoke English. Facilities good and clean. Hotel Restaurant - sampled this once and was very good value and quality, although lacks atmosphere as it is not very busy. Excellent restaurant just around the corner from hotel - La Baraccas - which is famed for its paella. Finding a public car park close to the hotel was tricky at the first attempt .. there is one just behind the hotel (150m away), but finding it is difficult. Recommend you park right outside the hotel, drop your bags/cases off and ask at reception! All in all, excellent value at this hotel.
