Hotel Regional - Madrid

Great location. Very happy

My flight was cancelled due to snow storm, the very day I should have arrived. The hotel refused to accept this as an excuse and charged me one night (out of three). The management is not friendly at all, not open to any request. And when streesed, they surprisingly speak less English and more Spanish...

The man who answered the bell was very unfriendly and looked angry because he was bothered by the bell ringing?, I didn't know. The room he gave me first was single room even though I booked double room and the towels were rags and color was gray. That room smelled so bad with cigarette smoke I couldn't stay in the room longer than few min. so I demanded room change. He changed room as the whole floor was empty, though with grumble. The 2nd room was better and it was double room with sink. It may be ok to stay here as long as you get decent room but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because of unfriendlliness and unwelcoming attitude of the people there. There are many places like Regional around that area, so I would check first and I'd rather stay at a place where you are welcome. Another thing is that this place doesn't have sign. You have to have exact address and have to look for the name in the entrance wall where you can ring the bell, otherwise you'll miss this place very easily.

Right! I was searching for an accomodation close to the Madrid main area of interest to me, and the Regional is spot on, unhappily it is not well looked after, the rooms have electrical, plumbing and cleaning issues, very noise and seems that you are sleeping in a construction site. The beds had a mix match of sheets, such as the pillow was a children themed cover, the bottom sheet and cover sheet didnt match and both were very old, already splitting the cloth due to several washes, all is ok and well if the price was right, the truth is, that for only 5 or 9 Euros more you can find in the same area a much more professional accomodation with good attention and have a pleasant experience overall. Botton line I would not reconmend the Regional.

I travel a lot and saw different places, but this was the worst place I have ever stayed in in whole my live . Was VERY dirty, "shower" in the room did not work (water did not go away) and the last night from 9pm in the evening till 8am in the morning when we had to leave there was NO HOT WATER AT ALL (not only in hte room). NEVER again! Only positive thing is the location - the place is just 3-5 minutes away from SoL metro station.

Es un lugar centrico, ideal para ir a pie a cualquier sitio del centro de Madrid, pero al estar en plena plaza Santa Ana, es ruidoso, sobre todo at morning, por lo que desistir los que vayais pensando en levantaros tarde. Las camas no son muy comodas, y no se si es por ser verano pero solo hay una fina sabana. Si sois frioleros, llevad manta. Quiza se pueda pedir. Respecto al precio, pa lo que es, quiza 5 euros mas barato seria lo justo.

The facility was rated with 2 stars. Unfortunately, of the two stars it didn't even have the ink they were painted with. Also, from the photos and info available at the time of booking, it appeared as if there was an en-suite bathroom, which is our primary selection parameter in choosing a hotel room. To our disappointment, once we got there we discovered this was not the case. We stayed for the first night as this HAD to be paid for, but immediately after checking-in we arranged for alternative place for the remainder of our visit. The room was truly awful, barely furnished, the beds uncomfortable and the window wouldn't shut. There were two shared toilets at the other end of a long, squeaky corridor - not the best if you are getting up several times during the night. Furthermore, it has been impossible to take a shower, as the escape pipe was blocked. Thank god we moved to another hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Struttura adatta a giovani in visita turistica, senza grosse pretese.

La pension "regional" est située en plein centre de Madrid ; c'est une affaire familiale qui a qq années : les fenêtres, les meubles et les revêtements le montrent bien : c'est ennuyeux pour les fenêtres qui laissent passer le bruit. Par contre accueil super, jovial et très arrangeant : comme les enfants était dans un seul lit, on nous a fait déménager et nous avons eu un appartement de 11 couchages dans 4 chambres à notre disposition : séjour royal de ce moment là. Bref cet "hostal" est à recommander aux jeunes (possibilité de cuisine) de style "routard". Surtout les chambres sur la rue sont à réserver aux noctambules.

I already knew this hotel: I had stayed in double room there and it was very well! But this time, I had a room single and it was a wall cupboard!

Very good low-budget place in the heart of Madrid.

Los dueños te abren la puerta cuando estás durmiendo sin llamar, hacen mucho ruido y no te dejan dormir, a mi me dieron la habitación más fea que sea caía a pedazos y no se correspondía para nada con las fotos.
