An incredibly noisy room - poor sound insulation from street noise (bad/old windows). The bathroom was build as 'an aquarium' into the room and took up so much space that you cannot walk around the bed. The shower was broken beyond repair. This was signalled twice to the reception, but nothing was done/could be done about it - so they just left it as it is! This room should not be rented out in its present condition. Generally a sub-standard room on the 2nd. floor towards the street not in up to even basic standards. The capacity of the breakfast-room is far too small so people are even asked to sit in the corridor going into the breakfat-room! Furthermore they ran out of cups, knives, forks etc. repeatedly. Not too much to ask for in a breakfast-room? At times there was not even bread available. Possible the worst breakfast arrangements seen in several decades.

This time I stayed at Petit Palace Puerta del Sol and at your Petit Palace Ducal. Both are situated in the center of Madrid. So I could enjoy Teatro Real, Monasterios, several museos and so on. I could also meals at nice reataurants , say 'Botin' and 'La Barraca'. 'Convenience' is the best choice in selecting hotels, I think.

Front staff spent an inordinate am't of time constatnly putting you off instead of helping or telling the truth. they want you to give up!! Took 2 days to get an answer to why there wasn't English speaking channels on TV. Only Spanish and German. they're finally answer to the TV problem was "I can move to one of there other hotels (which at night is totally surrounded by Prostitues!)

Be aware that there is open prostitution in the area. If you don't pay any attention it should not be a problem. We were not approached, but it was obvious.

Employees were very welcoming and helpful, the breakfast is really good, with fresh orange juice ! It is a great hotel for a weekend to visit because it is extremely well located but if you want to rest you might choose another hotel because it is not very quiet ! Road work on saturday and marathon on Sunday....

Whilst the room had luxurious fixings, they were not well-maintained. A very fancy multi-spogot shower did not work - most were clogged, and many parts were broken. Sink drain was very slow. Bunk beds had bedding on them, but were bolted up against the wall - we had to improvise a tool to flip them down, and move the other bed and bedside table unit so they could come down. It was very loud outside, but windows were very good - it was quiet with them closed. Room was cold, and air conditioner did not respond to adjustment, and bedding was thin, with no extras, so three out of four of us were quite cold. So, while at first glance, this room seemed quite fancy, it was not well maintained, especially for the cost. Service was friendly and the place was easy to find.

THe hoel was perfect for our weekend stay. it is central and very easy to get around and see Madrid from this hotel. we spend all our time out of hotel and only used it for sleeping. i would not recommend the hotel if you wanted to spend time there as there did not seem anywhere nice to relax. however it was very clean and staff very friendly. The metro is right outside. Rooms are small but fine if just using as a base.

Unfortunately the hotel is very close to GRAN VIA and there's always a lot of traffic with continuous noise from the street. Issue that can be sorted out using a couple of hearken plugs. Apart this issue all the rest is in compliance with the reported notes on the web site.

There're a lot of High Tech Petit Hotel in the same area. It would take some time to find out if you don't have a very clear map or direction upon arrival. I can hear people walking outside the room, so I guess if you get a room near the lift, that would be even worse. Overall speaking, the location is good and the room is very neat and tidy.

We weren't actually booked into this Hotel for our stay in Madrid, the Hotel e-mailed the night before leaving for the Airport to tell us that we had been moved to this Hotel and it wasn't near where we wanted to be at all, but it worked out in the end, and the walk from the Hotel to where we wanted to be meant that we got to see a bit more of Madrid than we would have. Strange rooms, but different, and the beds are very hard, but amazingly very cnfortable.

Ok, heres the deal: Most High Tech's are located right in the heart for shopping, bars, you name it...its in FUN MADRID. If you are going to be looking for quiet nights rest...especially on a weekend...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...the noise when the bars empty is SO LOUD. If you are going to come home DRUNK and want to party then this place is GREAT since its steps from everything fun.

It would have been great if i had stayed at High Tech Petit Palace Ducal, where i had made reservations but i didn't. Upon arrival, (it took me 45 minutes to find the hotel), i was told that my room was damaged and that i was moved to another hotel. I would of liked to have been informed about my relocation prior to my arrival, but HTPPDucal felt differently. I didn't appreciate the customer service one bit. I had to walk around the city for an hour before i found the other High Tech Petit Palace ______ that i was relocated to. They didn't offer to catch me a cab, or provide any type of help. Horrible customer service by my standards!!! By the way, the city has over a hundred of these hotels. The hotel i stayed at was great and the customer service was great as well. As far as HTPPDucal.... I wouldn't stay there.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Madrid. Nice atmosphere. Clean, modern and efficient rooms. Great location. You can reach all the important places on foot. Good price/quality ratio. Breakfast was not included in the price, but you can have it in the hotel if you pay extra. We didn't do that, but had breakfast in one of the many places in the vicinity of the hotel, like the Madrilenos do. If you leave the windows open at night, there is a lot of noise from the traffic on the Gran Via. We had no problems with it, but if you are sensitive to that, you can easily close the double glazed windows and use the air conditioning, if necessary. We had a great time there.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2005. The location is great - good transport links and close to tourist highlights. Reasonably priced for city centre. The room was very clean and comfortable - a little small but adequate. We didn't have a computer in the room but there was free internet access on two computers available for guests in the public areas. There was some traffic/pedstrian noise but that is expected for being in the heart of Madrid. There is double glazing and the hotel is slightly off the main road which also helps.

Overall a very nice place, well run and very conveniently located. Although it looked out on Hortaleza Street, the room was very quiet and air-conditioning helped considerably. On the basis of posted comments we did not take breakfast at the hotel, but that was not a problem: there are cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. One drawback is that the most convenient car park is 10 minutes away on foot. Another problem, of a comical nature, is the ludicrous see-through door to the bathroom. Also, the operation of the shower was rather complicated and took some getting used to. Note that contrary to what might be inferred from some posted comments not all rooms are provided with a computer. However, two computers with Internet access are available downstairs.

Very nice hotel, fully deseves 3 stars plus. Our room was clean and well fournished, with a funny semi-transparent bathroom door. At 3d floor we didn't suffer noise from the road. Strategic position, though in an "animated" area of the city. Personnel in the hotel was very kind and ready to help us. I really suggest this hotel to anybody careless about the area's nightlife.

The location of the hotel is excellent. I asked for a room facing the back of the hotel, which wasn't very pretty to look at but offered a very quiet stay. Not all of the staff spoke good English, but all were very friendly. I was very disappointed about the breakfast, which is available for Euro10.00. But I loved the interior of the rooms, very modern and different - Spanish with style. The best was the location as you can walk to all tourist attractions.

We did not realize the kind of area we were getting into. There was not a parking spot. The Hotel had 2 parking spots permanently occupied by other cars. It is a very narrow street going only one way so it was difficult to reach. The underground was relatively close. The level of noise from the street was quite high and at any hour of the night. The hotel management was having problems with the towel company and wouldnot supply enough towels or change towels. They even gave us a spotted (really gross) towel and they never apologized for it.

We had a nice and spacious corner-room on the 6th floor with a good view. We were amazed when we found out that in our room there was a computer with a free broadband connection. The bathroom door revealed to be hilarious at best. It was a see-through glass door, so there was no privacy at all on that account. It was sort of funny for us but it could get a bit uncomfortable for somebody else I imagine. The hotel is in a good position to reach almost every place. The staff was ok. Very good value for money, is not possible to not recommend it.
