Hotel La Plata - Madrid

El único detalle fue el wifi fallaba demasiado, todo lo demás excelente, muy fácil de llegar en metro gran vía, o caminando un poco mas si tomas el bus atocha en el aeropuerto te deja en cibeles pero todo esta muy accesible caminando o en metro, volveré

The walls of the room very thin, a a result you can hear almost every noise especially when shower or bath was used

Some days the staff wasn't that good than for example the last day I stayed there.

The second floor in the hotel does not have an elevator. With luggage and the like it was not a good experience. The stairs was narrow and steep and requires a lot of effort to get to your room from the first floor.

WE HAD A TWIN ROOM AND ALTHOUGH NOT HUGE IT WAS WELL EQUIPPED AND RIGHT IN THE CENTRE OF TOWN.THE ROOM WAS WELL SOUND-INSULATED.A GREAT LITTLE CAFE IS IN THE LANE BEHIND WHICH SERVES A GOOD BREAKFAST.

The staff is great and make you feel welcome from the start, and the room was nice enough. The only donwside is the fact that late at night, when you're trying to get some rest, there was a person with the TV set way too loud, other than that, it was great. Would recommend it

Access to the room after 23:00 is a little bit too complicated. You won't be able to bring a guest either.

This was an adequate budget stay made great by the very friendly and informative employees. The bedroom was a little poky but only because we were a family of four. The reception staff all spoke great English.

E' un'ottima sistemazione per chi utilizza una camera d'albergo come base per fare una doccia e per dormire, senza pretese e che va a Madrid per vievere la città e non perdere neanche un attimo. In ottima posizione, permette di vivere Madrid al meglio(a5 minuti da Porta del Sol; al centro della Gran Via; vicino a molti ristoranti;birrerie e negozi) Personale molto cordiale che nonostante le difficoltà della lingua ha saputo ha saputo venirci incontro. Camere non molto spaziose, ma poco illuminate, bagno migliore delle descizioni precedenti: spazioso e funzionale.Ci siamo trovate molto bene!Hostal stra-consigliato!!

L'hostal si trova nella zona nevralgica della città ed è a due passi dai principali monumenti e luoghi d'interesse turistico. Il personale è stato gentilissimo. Le camere sono piccole ma carine, nella nostra si avvertivano un pò di odori di cibo,probabilmente per la vicinanza con qualche cucina o ristorante. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è molto buono. Se pensate di andare a Madrid e non avete esigenze particolari ma necessitate solo di un posto per dormire, l'hostal la plata è più che adeguato.

A nice place to stay, cheap and in the very center of the city. I don't ask for more.

The staff at this hotel was awesome. They helped us in whatever problem we encountered during our stay in Madrid. The location is excellent and the hostal is very secure. Note that you must be escorted in by the night guard to have access to the hotel. Keys to the exterior doors are not given.

Of moderate priced hotels we stayed in during our week in Spain, this was not the most comfortable. There was no plug in the room, and reading light was out. It was not easy to find employees.

Mostly up to the description, and with excellent personnel, helpful and with good English. But the room itself was a bit shabby and rather too tiny for 3 people. And the night noise from a cerveceria in the street was a pain.

Ambiance et acceuil très symphatique. Très bon rapport qualité prix avec une situation idéale pour Madrid. Aucun bruit si ce n'est quelques rares clients qui restent discuter dans le hall. Chambres avec déco sympa et services très correct. Excellente adresse d'hostal.

Good price / quality, very good situation, but the rooms are small and very noisy, the hostel is old on the public areas and on some rooms (the hostel is on renovation)

NICE HOTEL, NICE AND COMFORTABLE ROOMS, BEAUTUFULL AREA BUT WITH THE WORST POSSIBLE RECEPTION. AFTER WELCOME WE PAID THE ROOM AND NEVERTHELESS LEFT FOR ANOTHER HOTEL FOR THE SAME NIGHT. EL HOTEL ES PERFECTO Y BUENA RELACIÓN CALIDAD / PRECIO, EL AREA ES MUY BUENA, CERCA DEL CENTRO, LA HABITACIÓN ERA PEQUEÑA PERO MUY ACOGEDORA, LA PRIMERA IMPRESIÓN FUÉ BUENA , PERO LA RECEPCIÓN DEL HOTEL, EL TRATO PERSONAL, NOS OBLIGÓ A ABANDONAR EL HOTEL, PREFERIMOS PAGAR EL HOTEL Y BUSCAR OTRO PARA LA MISMA NOCHE. FUIMOS TRATADOS CON MUY MALA EDUCACIÓN Y PENSAMOS QUE EL HOTEL SOLO TIENE ESE PROBLEMA.

The hotel is really well located, only 5 minutes walking from the gran via tube station (from where you can reach any destination). Also, you can reach lots of nice places by walking. The problem was the room itself, too small (we booked a triple, but was really impossible to stay in the room. Also the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen. We have seen that on the ground floor were so much larger and better, so if you have to book a room there, ask for groud floor room!

Excellent location, walking distance to the museums and to the old city. Only problem: Frequently there was no hot water or water temperature dropped suddenly from very hot to ice-cold. Even after signalling this to staff, the problem persisted.

We couldn't sleep because the walls were too thin to stop the noise in the next room toilet. Our toilet was horrible, with a sink we couldn't use because too small. There weren't windows in the bathroom, but a squared aperture not covered, and directly communicating with the outside. Freezing air from it the whole night, very bad situation for a shower. We also asked for a double room and they gave us a twin.

Location is very good for tourists. Hot water flow inconsistent.

The Hotel location near the city centre was excellent to locate many of the available things to do in Madid. The very helpful staff made our short stay more useful than we anticipated as we were actually using Madrid as a short stopover on our way to other parts of Spain, having seen much of Madrid previously.

It's a very central location, near to metro station, very nice!!

We found the Hostal very clean. The price was reasonable (60 euro for a double room) but our room wasn't spaciousness at all. The bathroom, though very clean, was particularly little. Very well located (Gran Via is next to everytingh deserves to be seen in Madrid), excellent organization and competence, employees very kind. After all a godd experience.

Accueil en français très sympatique associé à de très bons conseils. Position très centrale permettant de (presque)tout faire à pieds (mais le métro est à 2 mn [attention aux pique pockets]). Restaurations près de l'hostal bon marché (Fresc Co, La Gloria de Montera...) Très bon séjours : nous reviendrons.

I BELIEVE THAT FOR THE VALUE/MONEY RATIO IT IS QUITE ACCEPTABLE SPECIALLY FOR THE LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY. SOME ROOMS CLOSE TO THE GAS HEATERS IN THE CORRIDORS SUFFER FROM THE NOISE MADE BY THOSE TAKING A SHOWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. REGARDING SAFETY IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO MAKE AN EXPERTISE OF THE FIRE ESCAPE REGULATION .HOSTAL IS WITHIN A BUILDING AND WITH A LOT OF WOODEN MATERIAL IN THE COMMON AREA. FINALLY THE PICTURES ARE A BIT TOO OVERRATED THE REALITY OF THE PROPERTY.IT IS A BUDGET HOTEL DO NOT MAKE IT LOOK IT AS IF IT WAS A SUPERIOR HOTEL. WE HAD ANYHOW A VERY NICE STAY IN THE SPANISH CAPITAL WHICH IS REALLY A GREAT CITY WITH PLENTY TO SEE, SHOPPING, FUN , FOOD.

La camera non corrispondeva alle foto viste nel sito ma counque non era male. Peccato che io abbia richiesto una matrimoniale e che mi hanno dato una dopppia (ho scritto 3 volte senza risposta, quando me ne sono accorto) Pulita, bagno un po' strettino, buona per un week end per chi non ha grosse pretese. Comoda dal punto di vista della posizione (5 min. da plaza del sol)

Ce genre d'hotel correspond à nos souhaits ; nous utilisons la chambre pour dormir étant dehors toute la journée. La chambre,et surtout la salle de bain, sont très propres mais un peu petites.Nous sommes malgré cela très satisfaits et si nous revenons à Madrid, nous reviendrons là.

LaPlata was what it said it would be. Their web site was good. For just staying one or two nights it was fine (and quiet). At first I was put off by the relative lack of friendliness/helpfulness of the owners who are also the staff. I came to find that the norm for Spain. Tourists appear to be merely tolerated. I guess I'm not paying to be loved, so it was fine! Location was fine and price was reasonable! Map to find location on the metro route was great. Took about 30 minutes from airport.

The hotel has a really good location but the rooms are small and not very quiet. You can listen everything that is going on in the halls. But the price its excellent so if you don't mind the noise this is really a good place. The problem that we have at the end was that they do not give you any receipt or paper with the amount of money that you pay. They said that because we paid our night by cash. If you pay by credit card they just give you your little receipt for the transaction but not a regular receipt. So if you want to keep an eye in the money that you spend this is not a good place.

This is a no-frills place, but the location is good, the staff friendly, and if you are mainly spending your time outside and about it is fine. Shower is very small, and noise in the hall is like it is in your room. For the price and what I was looking for it was fine. If on such a tight budget again I would stay here. It was very cean and I never felt unsafe.

Tutto esattamente come promesso: la posizione centrale ideale per il turista, camera pulita, reti e materassi in ottime condizioni, personale gentilissimo, inoltre abbiamo potuto collegare il nostro mac (Apple) alla rete internet wireless dell'albergo gratuitamente 24/24h (basta chiedere i dati al personale) OTTIMO

La verdad es que es un hostal excelente. El trato del personal, la comomidad de las habitaciones y la ubicación centrica y cerca del metro lo hacen merecer la mejor calificacion y sin duda lo recomiendo.

Ideal für einen Städtetrip - Central, aber nicht laut. 4 Etage - die Zimmer gehen nicht zur Gran sondern zur hinteren Seitenstraße.

Great location in the hart of Madrid with walking distance to the major tourist places, very reasonable price, extremely friendly stuff, daily room cleaning. We would stay again.

In spite of what was promised, breakfast was not included. In fact, nothing could be served at the hotel. You had to go out and buy. 6 Euro was the typical price for breakfast in that surrounding.

The is a good value accomodation. The location is suberb and it is in a magnificient building. Rooms are small but ok , they are old but clean , and the bathroom is small too but with loads of hot water.However ...I would not recommend this hostal because of the bad isolation of the rooms. Every noise from the stairs , hall , neighbours , you'll hear it. If your a bad sleeper , this is not a place for you.

Great services/ very well located

I could hear the snoring of the person in the room next to mine. The bed sheets were of butterflies and the towels of diferent colors. I've been in places where i have pay the same price and the quality is much better, although the front desk personnel were very polite

This was back in May but I enjoyed my stay for the price it was really fine. Location great for single female traveller as entry door opens right onto Gran Via as opposed to a poorly lit side street. Would certainly stay again. A good basic room at a good price.

In spite the hotel is located along the Gran Via we founded it very quite. The Hotel doesn't offer amenities nevertheless represents, for its price/quality ratio, a good choice for those who want to spend all the day visiting Madrid having a good place where to sleep. The staff was very gently and helpful.

Room and bath were small but comfortable. Location in downtown Madrid is very convenient--walking to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, near Metro station. Some noise from street but not bad. Staff helpful.

Nettes Hostal, prächtig gelegen, direkt an der Metro Gran Via. Jeden Tag frische Handtücher, saubere Zimmer und in 5 Gehminuten ist man an der Plaza Mayor. Sehr empfehlenswert.

La nostra camera era molto piccola e così il bagno. Pulizia più che sufficiente. Posizione ottima, vicino alla metro e al centro. Prezzo basso. Aria condizionata e tv. Ideale per chi ha poche pretese e usa l'albergo solo per dormire.

The hotel is nice and clean. Very close to the city center and to the nearest underground station. Easy to reach from the airport. But, the breakfast is not included, in spite of what the site says.

We stayed in room 506 which was very quiet.Location is very central and practical for traveling with Metro/Bus/Renfe.Price very correct.

La Plata was located right in the middle of Madrid making it easy to enjoy the sights and shopping. The room was very clean, very private, and very secure. The people were very nice and helpful. I'd recommend La Plata to anyone. Next trip, I will choose La Plata again.

Location is really nice, close to everything. Bathroom is really small and you can hear the noise of other guests. But, for the price, I don't mind.

As a single woman, I felt very safe here. The room is basic, but very warm, a very good hot shower and even a TV. Fantastic location, and very, very good value for money. Just take ear-plugs, as there is some general noise from other rooms/corridor. Would stay here again.

Wonderful bargain right in the heart of Madrid. If it's "location, location, location" you're looking for then you can't go wrong with La Plata. I chose a single room - it was smallish but comfortable, with private bathroom and colour TV. Don't be put off by the term "hostal". It's nothing like a youth hostel, it's simply a small hotel without a restaurant or room service. Just the basics, basically! Located on the fourth floor, it's very secure. Make it La Plata when you're in Madrid. There may be cheaper, but there can't be much better value. Tiene suerte!

I really would recomand you to enjoy your Madrid holidays here! 'Cause it's nearly impossible to find a better price/quality relationship than here.

The hostel is very clear and tidy and is in the very centre of Madrid. very cheap and two minutes walk from the underground station... great!!!

La Plata is great value, scrupulously clean and the rooms are quite large. A couple of caveats, this hostal operates a "curfew" of 11pm which is not entirely clear from the documentation. In fact the only reason I found out about was because I read the Spanish notices on the wall in the room - so don't get caught out by this. Also the rooms overlooking the courtyard are very dark, but for €25 for a single room I still think it represents good value.

The price was very inexpensive for the service and location. The doors could have updated locks on them, otherwise, the room was fine. The employees at the desk were very professional and helpful. The building is being restored and is lovely. The location is ideal, very close to train station, three metro stops away.

I had a beautiful stay at Hostal La Plata in Madrid ... I just came back and have already a great memory about it ... People were really welcoming and sweet ... It was a pleasure ... Really.

The personnel was very kind and the room clean. A good value for money for this kind of accomodation. No breakfast included but this is common in Spain.

The staff at La Plata could not have been more pleasant and helpful. A great base from which to explore this exciting city.

My stay was extremely quick, but the hostal was absolutely fine, the staff nice and the surroundings good.
