Hotel Hesperia Emperatriz - Madrid

kinda expensive, but it's really nice, indeed a hotel!

I had lived in Madrid before, and knew the neighborhood and the hotel. Through Venere, I got a good deal of three nights for the price of two. The rooms are spacious for Europe, with a flat screen TV, minibar, and huge bathroom. The only fault was that the drain pipe of the bidet leaked, though I did not use it often enough to bother reporting it to the hotel (though it should have been obvious to housekeeping). The room was an interior one, with the window looking out on an interior court/ventilation area, so there was not much natural light. Also, for a four-star hotel, they should have better toiletries, instead of charging for a "travel pack." Location is extremely convenient to the Serrano shopping district, with lots of local restaurants nearby, and convenient to the bus and metro to/from the airport. At the rate I paid, would definitely stay there again.

the hotel is fine but the staff are not that prof.like when i asked for a taxi no one helped me so i had to go by my self to find one.

Muy mala impresión del hotel. Al llegar no había aparcamientos ni plaza en el parking del hotel, te tienes que alejar bastante y a un parking que deja mucho que desear. La habitación fatal en cuanto a ruidos, desde bien temprano en la mañana se oyen todas las cisternas, duchas, quehaceres de limpieza...

Really really good. I'd advice to go there. Well served by public transportation. Quiet and clean. Wonderful price/cost relationship

Great hotel! I little noisy because of movement of tables early in the morning. Staff was friendly except one person on the reception.

We only had a one night stay in Madrid, but we wished we could have stayed longer. Staff was extremely helpful, courteous, accomodating. Our room was updated, modern, clean, spacious enough as european rooms go, the bathroom was pleasant and their were full length mirrors! Breakfast buffet was better than average with many items not usually offered in most buffet breakfasts. We would definetly stay there again when we return to Madrid. It was just a bit confusing finding Via Lopez de Hoyos because we did not realize that the actual turn off the main road is Pineta. Otherwise flawless stay.

Lovely hotel, with gorgeous decor, but more for business traveler,not tourists. We somehow thought this location was central to things we wanted to see in Madrid -- it was not. We were far away from most everything, a BIG problem since it was pouring rain. Their own restaurant was closed. We loved the one restaurant open within walking distance - Jose Luis -- and highly recommend it. Front staff seemed unable or unwilling to help us go elsewhere -- and they couldn't even find an umbrella for us (at their stars, and their prices, and with an almost empty hotel, this seemed strange). Our AC would not work properly, and when we called to front desk, the phone simply rang and rang. We tried everything, but ended up opening the windows for fresh air -- not great since it was raining!

located in the Salamanca neighborhood by the Ruben Dario metro stop, this hotel is a true gem.
