The room was really good, clean with everything that we´ve expected! The bathroom was not very spacious, but it was very fresh and clean. The rooms also have live colors, which is very important considering the space and facilities.

Excellent location.Rooms very clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately hotel is very close to night club so were woken every night a few times by the noise from revellers. Our room was to the front but our friends had an inside room and did not hear the noise.Breakfast was fine. Staff were lovely especially the reception staff.

Hotel very centrally & conviently located. Everything withing short walking distance - many, many eating places, pharmacy, metro, bus stops & the great busy Puerto de Sol, where everything is happening. Greatly recommend hotel. Situated in the middle of a pedestrian area.

Absolutely unbelievable that this hotel owns only 2 stars. It's way way better than that classification, rooms of a 4* and breakfast of a 3* and the best thing is that only their rates are really compatible with a 2* hotel!!

Annoying that the safe in the room required 1Euro coin each time to close that was not refunded. The TV remote controller needed 5 Euro refundable security deposit but only Spanish channels. Breakfast bar was very basic. Location great.Very good bedding and bathroom.

The hotel is perfect for a weekend get away or just to visit Madrid. Well situated, you can (almost) do everything by feet. The room is spacious and clean. The only drawback is the sounds of the doors when closing, you hear your neighbor's door opening and closing, annoying but quite managable. The breakfast was good, nothing fantasy but perfect to start a good day in Madrid. I would advise it !

It was easy to take the metro from the airport to a stop near the hotel. The location is perfect, right in the middle of a pedestrian street. Room was on the street and new windows cut down on noise. Walls were thin but not a problem. Clean bright room with great shower. Could have done without the breakfast.

Fantastic hotel right in the centre of Madrid. Doesn't look like much from outside but inside is absolutely beautiful. A real gem! The staff are also very helpful and the breakfast (which is included in the very low price) was exceptional.

Very good position but very noisy at night even if our room was at the 5th floor. Beds weren't still made before 3:00 p.m. and we had to ask for clean towels. Complete absence of public areas. Staff not very friendly.

Excellent location in the centre of Madrid within walking distance of most of the major sights. We had a family room for two adults a teenager and a seven year old. It was spacious, comfortable, well furnished, clean and seemed to have been recently refurbished. The hotel seems to be in the process of remodernising and extending so there it was quite a complicated walk to the lift. It looks as though at some point they will open a new reception area, so this will not be a problem then. The staff were very helpful and carried bags to the room and out to our taxi on the way back. On the whole our room on the fifth floor was quiet and peaceful. The only slight problem we had was that we were disturbed on two nights of our three night stay by other guests having long conversations in the corridors at around 4 a.m. - I think that this may be connected to the hours of the nightlife in Madrid. The breakfast was ok but not special: continental buffet breakfast, with rolls, pastries and cereals but no fruit. On the whole the hotel was better than we were expecting.

Comfortable and competitively priced hotel in first class central location. Easy access to Metro and numerous bars and restaurants. Downside is the noise at night in spite of shutters and double glazing! We should all expect this though in centre of major city, particularly a vibrant one like Madrid. Staff are excellent. We would recommend this hotel

The rooms were nice, however the glass door between the room and the bathroom is not very practical. Why would anyone want to be observed while doing their private business. Central AC was not working well, however the hotel provided mobile units. Reception staff did not speak English but were helpful anyway.

I would really love this hotel if it is not in the hot summer days. The hotel is well maintained and the service is good. But, being a renovated old building, each room has a mobile air conditioner, which, if turned on, requires the window to be open, and you will be bombarded with the noise from the crowd on the street. So, either the heat or the noise will make it hard to go to sleep. So, avoid it in the really hot weather. In all other times, I think it would be a very nice hotel with good value, good service, learn, and right in the heart of everything.

I stayed in Madrid for two nights, seeing my nephew and exploring the city. The hotel is perfectly located, very central, with the Metro five minutes walk away. The room was in the refurbed part, very pleasant, clean, good bathroom and a good size although I was travelling by myself. It might be a little tight for two, but the beds were good and a great size. I found the key/electricity turning on system very annoying however. Breakfast adequate, a little dull but good choice of milk strangely! V nice helpful staff. BUT oh the noise in my room at night! Not the passers by, but the bin emptiers, the skip removals, the lorries and bikes... If you close the blinds it makes a bit of a difference; or request a room at the back; or take v good earplugs. I will do all that next time...

I enjoyed the hotel. It was a little noisy because of renovations. The reason that I rated staff competence low was that one of the desk clerks and a bell men all but strong armed me to take a taxi to the airport the next morning. They told me the Metro would not run until at least 6:30 am, that my bag would probably be stolen, and at best it would take me an hour and a half to reach the airport. When I asked the cost of a taxi they said 35 Euro. Well, the Metro did leave at 6 am, no one, of course, touched my luggage, the travel time was 45 minutes and the cost 2 Euro so I saved 33 Euro. Are these guys getting kick backs from taxi drivers? Besides that, I would certainly stay at the Francisco I again.
