Hotel Reviews Eden Paraíso Neptuno

Location Location Location. Eden Paraíso Neptuno is just 50 metres off the main Sol Plaza. That means it is either perfect because it is so central and in a thriving, busy area or disastrous because the locality is too active and noisy. We enjoyed being so close to the action and therefore near to the main attractions. BUT we asked for (when booking) a quiet room, which we got. If our room had been on the street then it would have been noisy with street noise at all hours. We would happily return, and the price is good compared to some central hotels.

Perfect accomodation for a long wend in Madrid. Location is simply great; in the center, close to everything and with the underground in front of it. definitely this si not a 2 star hotel

We found this hotel was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff spoke English and were very helpful, the breakfast was good and the location was perfect for seeing the major sights. There was some street noise but this was a reflection of the fact that Madrid is bustling at all hours and is probably a feature of hotels in the city centre (which always felt very safe). We had a great stay here and would recommend the hotel to others.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, just in the city center. The rooms are really spacious and comfortable.

Situated in a wonderful position, very close to Plaza del Sol (I never used public transport for my trips). The room was very comfortable, not the usual you can get in a 2 stars hotel, especially the bathroom was wonderful for the price (we had a whirlpool shower!). I'd come back there every time I am in Madrid. The only cons are: the wi-fi connection was awful, limited to the breakfast room and we never succeded in connecting with our smartphones (I saw people connecting with LAN cables) ; the nightlife on the road is ruled by prostitutes, so I won't recommend to a family with little children

Really clean, great location. Significantly more expensive than a hostel, but it was the cheapest place I could find in the city center where I was guaranteed to have my own clean bathroom.

Great location for sight-seeing. Contrary to other reviewers on this site, we found it quite silent. Perhaps the fact that we were on the fifth floor had something to do with it. Clean rooms, comfortable for overnight crashing during a hectic sight-seeing.
Australia, Jun 2009
When arrived was disappointed with the location as it was in a lower class area, as their was casion's, sex shops etc,in the same street, I did notfeel safe, therefore only stayed one night. I found on foot a very nice hotel which was 4 star and was close to all areas of interest, which made my time in madrid very enjoyable. Hotel advertising on your site is very deceatful, what you see is noot what you get.

Great location to see the sites. This particular street is a little seedy but not that is dangerous. There are many gold vendors wanting to buy and sell gold on the street. Also on the far end of the block there are prostitutes. I wouldn't let either of these facts deter you though because there is also a police station a few doors down and like I said it appears safe. The room I was in was very loud though. We had a street facing room which was cool because it has a little balcony. The problem was there is no sound proofing to the hotel and Madrid stays up very late. One night there were partiers a block away and they stayed up until 5 am and were yelling out into the street.

I was travelling by train so the hotel was easy to reach. The staff were extremely wwelcoming and helpful. The room was quite adequate for my needs. It was very central so easy to get to all the main attractions of Madrid. The surrounding area was very lively and colourful.

Weekend trip to Madrid. Difficult to sleep due to a lot of noise on the streets at night as well as drilling for road works started very early in the morning ie 7.30 am Friday and Saturday. 8.30 am on Sunday. Ants in the Hotel bedroom

Neptuno is a cheap, clean and very well located hotel. We flew into madrid and used the metro which brought us almost to the hotel door, 4euro.We did not opt for breakfast because there are many cafes nearby that do it.Staff are very good and had much better english than my spainish, they will give you great tips. You are right in the middle of old and new Madrid and lots of things are within walking distance.I highly recomend this hotel. From Sean , where the rain is born.

My daughter and I had two single rooms and stayed for 1 week. Everything was perfect except the safe in the rooms. You had to put on 1 euro each time you opened it - very inconvenient and expencive

I had a nice stay. Location is central and right next to Metro exit at Sol. Could walk to all major spots. Room was clean and had the best equipped bath I had so far, including 5 star hotels. The only drawback is walls are thin, and the hotel is on a central location. So you have noise issues. But if you are not a light sleeper that should not be a problem. Overall good value for money.

Very convenient, centrally located hotel - just a few minutes walk to Metro, Plaza Mayor etc. Rooms very clean, staff friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy with late night revellers (best to stay up with them!) but the bin men in the morning were very noisy. Enjoyable stay.

We stayed in a double room at the very top of the building, there was a lift. The room was very clean and the facilities were fine. The bathroom was very modern but small. Our only complaint was the lack of a window, we had a small window overlooking the roof. Our first recepionist was great, the man in the morning, not so good.

As long as you noted the address and given directions, it's very easy to find even tho the doorway and hotel is somewhat obscure. And the location is perfect, highly convenient and central. Best of all is the staff, Joseph, Ruth and Matthew, all of whom are more than happy to answer your questions or provide recommendations and directions. They made the stay all the more wonderful. Even though the rooms were not sound-proofed, this is something the hotel cannot do anything about due to regulatories of the building mgt. The rooms were nice and the toilets just renovated to a very nice luxury-contemporary standard.

This hotel is ideally located in central Madrid - 100 metres to the Metro and easy walking to major sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful - we arrived very early in the morning - and the room was ready and we had breakfast before booking in. While the streets outside were busy, the room was very quiet. Close to major shopping and lurid nightlife a few hundred metres up the street. Overalll value for money

I had a 4 night stay. The area is bustling with shops and restaurants and is a pedestrian only street. The "working girls" on the street aren't intrusive and it appeared to be completely safe. The Sol area is convenient for Metro and walking to city tourist sites. If you blink you might miss the hotel frontage ! -its a single door width but don't be put off.

The hotels is in the most central location possible and is easy walking distance to the major sites (Prado, Palace etc)and also in the heart of the shopping area. If you get one of the back rooms it is completely quiet. Overall the hotel is spotlessly clean. I would strongly recommend this hotel for the very reasonable price I paid.

This is the third time I've been to Madrid, but the first time as a solo traveller. I enjoyed this hotel that was near the very busy and interesting Plaza del Sol, and in walking distance to the Prado and other sights. The only problem was finding the location. It only says "Hotel" unless you look way up where the name can be seen.
Mature couple
USA, Oct 2008
Overall the stay was adequate. The "hotel" is more like a hostel or pension with very limited facilities. The rooms were quite small but very well maintained and the cleaning staff was exceptionally skilled. Also the hotel needs a sign outside the very small entrance door ---it was difficult to find at first. The only overall saving grace for this hotel is its very central and convenient location only about 75 meters from the Plaza del Sol. Every major sight in Madrid were within a 30-minute walk and many restaurants are in this area as well. But for $130 US dollars per night we expected more in the way of facilities and amenities.

Fresh air was something what was missing copmletely during my 5 day stay even air conditioning was ok. Room window was into some kind of "pipe" 3 to 3 m at the bottom. Don't take that hotel!

If you want the best of both worlds, then this hotel is an excellent value. The only criticism I would have is that being right in the heart of Madrid, the noise level is rather high so if you are a light sleeper, you might want to consider bringing earplugs with you. Other than that, the room was spacious, the bathroom was completely renovated and spotless and the mini bar came in especially handy, considering all the beverages it contained were very cheap. The hotel is right next to all of the tourist attractions and completely surrounded by nightlife attractions and restaurants. I would recommend this to others.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. The rooms were clean and ready for us. A refrigerator was provided. The only setback was that there was no coffee available unless you chose to purchase the 5 Euro breakfast. I ended up at Starbucks each morning. The front desk help were very pleasant. My daughter enjoyed the shopping right out our door, I enjoyed the neighborhood.

Excellent cost performance ratio.Hotel is perfectly central located;Placa del Sol is the main shopping area and in the middle of Prado on one side and the Royal House on the other. The furnishing is not luxurious, but clean and there is air conditioning(very important in the summer) and a fridge.....

Hotel located near Sol subway station. If you are taking taxi, that's the best place to be dropped. Walking down C/Montera is a little dodgy at night with all the prostitutes and sex shops all along the road. There is a police station near by, and the hotel is right beside the casino. Would stay again because the rooms are good value for money, and centrally located.

Breakfast typical continental and very nice. Very central location, couldn't be more central! close to metro fab for art galleries and palace and shops. Need to know some spanish but if you make an effort people make an effort to understand you. Fantastically safe at night, family groups everywhere, very busy place. Plenty to see and do, Extremely hot between 2-4 - best to stay out of the sun. Cathedral, palace, Plaza Major and art galleries well worth a visit. plenty of vegi places - (great take away vegi place, opposite mc Donalds)on plaza del sol. Have to say the staff were AMAZING. All were helpful, gave v. warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. WOULD HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Exceeded our expectations. Hard to find initially but a gem of a place. Gracias!!!!!

Walls are paper thin as the conversation, flushing of toilet and t.v. in the next room could be heard. Price is a bit high for the thin walls. When checking out early in the morning, the staff at the desk speaks no English. Overall, the room is clean and the welcoming by the staff is good as he spoke English, helpful in locating the nearest laundrette and on places to visit. Location near Metro Sol and Plaza Mayor is central.

Molto molto buono ci torneremo.

It was my first stay in Madrid and I found this place pretty much all right. Rooms may be noisy depending on your neighbours and I think you'd better go somewhere else for breakfast unless you really have no other option, but the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff friendly. Quite close to the red light district, but it's no issue if you come back to the hotel by the Puerta del Sol. Extremely easy to find and very close to the shopping areas and cultural sites.
