Hotel Convencion - Madrid

at night the receptionist is not friendly

We stayed just one night at Convencion but could have easily stayed more as the hotel was very welcoming ,clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We managed to access the hotel easily on the Metro from the airport (we were new to this) and found it a very convenient hotel to enjoy Madrid from.

The Hotel Rooms are very old. Rusty Handles, badly renovated WC's water piping, a lot of broken accessories, "old" smell in the rooms... Needs a total renovation.

The room assigned was very large but not so clean; we ask to the staff to provide a change and they make it very simple; the second room was clean and spacious. We don't try the breakfast services, in the neighbours it's simple to find a lot of bar varieties.

located nearby most important connection site: airport-express bus connection: south-bus station(circular 6); underground (200 meters. surrounded by traditional and cheap restaurants. Enjoyable place for shopping and walking across the Retiro Parks.

At only 1 Express bus stop from airport and at 120 minutes walk from center. Very convenient, and in front of hotel a food and drink shop open 24-hours.

Y travelling with my wife, the location of hotel was good fo my that my family lives near it.

This was our first time in Madrid and we enjoyed our stay. The family room was spacious and clean. Compared to other similarly rated hotels we have stayed at it didn't compare in value as breakfast and internet access were not included in the price. The cost of breakfast was steep for a family of 4 and it is better value to go elsewhere. Although the hotel is very accessible by public transport it is a little out of the way if one wants to walk to the centre. The airport bus service is very good.

I liked my stay very much! It was really very easy to get to the hotel by airbus , 20 minutes and 2 euro!It was very easy to walk to the center,40 minutes in Piazza del Sol. 10 minutes walk to Park Retirò. A bus stop to the center is near the hotel. Metro is 10 minutes walk, we could visit Escorial,Toledo.The personal is very good.

Checking in and checking out were very poor. There were long queues. Apart from that, excellent.

Very good breakfast buffet very central, took 5 minutes by bus to downtown. One thing what was missing --> German TV cannel at least one.

The hotel is quite old and need to be refurbished Rooms are very noisy and you'd better take earplugs before checking in!

poor soundproofing which gets more uncomfortable if your window looks on the entrance hall

I have stayed at Hotel Convencion several times and always feel at home. The staff is friendy and the prices are reasonable. If you're willing to walk 20-30 minutes, you can easily get to the Parque Retiro and the Prado.

very nice hotel. we were in a Junior Suite triple 3 adults and a Quadruple 4 adults.The competence of employees and the relationship between price/quality we met at hotel Cconvention was quite good.

Siempre notamos una gran lentitud en Recepción. De hecho,las veces que hemos estado en el hotel hemos visto colas delante del mostrador;incluso sin ninguna aglomeración.En otros hoteles son más rápidos y espabilados los empleados.La atención no es mala,pero desde luego sí muy lenta.

Very nice hotel. At the reception, however, we had some problems with the fact that when you check-in you must give them a credit card even if you're not going to pay immediately.

Windows facing to main street had to be replaced with more sound protective very long time ago.

I arrived at 2 a.m. and had to wait 20 min to be checked in. The first day my room hadn't been done. At 9 pm I notced the receptionist that assured me it would be ok before my return. At midnight the room hadn't been done anyway. Since I was travelling with a colleague and the receptionist at check in hadn't taken his credit card no, after 2 days my credit card was billed with 700 € without notice! I complained for everything and got just a 20% discount on the 1st night stay. Anyway my money has been given me back. The hotel is huge and very noisy especially at night since lots of schools choose it for their vacation. Stay away.

Estancia tranquila, agradable, y un lugar acogedor. Limpio. y calidad precio muy competente.

We found the hotel very suitable to our needs, very clean and very central. It was also good value for money with all services available. We would use it again
