We loved the superior room we booked. room was very large with nice furniture, extra large bathroom, and very quiet with double windows. Location is excellent, just 2 blocks from Plaza Santa Ana. Staff was very helpful. They allowed us to check in the morning.

You can´t beat the location. We were able to walk to all the major sights. Despite arriving 5 hours early, they provided a room for us and allowed us to check in. Esther, who worked the front desk, was incredibly hospitable and helpful! She even set up a reservation for us to see an amazing Flamenco show and was always gracious about answering our many questions. Thank you Esther! We would definitely return to this hotel!

Excellent bathroom with a shower stall and a bathtub with a shower all updated. King size bed with comfortable pillows bed was firm. Great location close to the mueseums, major plaza, restaurants, tapa bars, and 5 minute walk to subway.

Good location, fair place, with some minuses: the assigned room was at the ground floor, right near the bar, the welcome wasn't too warm and nice, breakfast is very expdensive if not included in the room price.

Breakfast is not included , and its price is excessive . While the food at breakfast was fine , it did not justify the cost versus available nearby breakfast places . Staff was especially helpful in all respects ! Location is superb for access to all the major museums .

Nice large rooms, great shower, very clean and quiet. Staff were not very engaged but service was adequate. WIFI access cut in and out, which was a problem. Good hotel, but there were some details that need attention, given its four star rating. For example: plug in bathtub did not fit tightly, so that taking a bath was impossible. There was a grease spot on the bed covering. Some of the physical structure (carpentry joinings; hardware) was a little slipshod. But, good overall and the location was unbeatable.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor and furnishings were quite delightful and made one feel relaxed . Our bathroom with malachite and white tiles and dark wooden surround made a very elegant impression. An impressive (although expensive) breakfast buffet. The first impression of the bed was that the mattress was very hard but as we always overslept I think one came to terms with it very quickly. The location was perfect as all the museums were within walking distance and it was a joy to walk in the narrow little streets looking at all the fascinating different shops.

Great location if you like to walk, as we do. All hotel employees very competent and helpful. We arrived early and they gladly stored our bags til room was ready. Free internet access in lobby is a nice little perk. Room service was quick, friendly and tasty. Nice water pressure in shower, plenty of hot water. Room small, but comfy. Urban noise on street below if you are on street side, but not a problem. Would stay there again.

I was in Madrid for just one day, passing through after visiting other Spanish cities. I needed a place to spend one night before flying back to the U.S. The Catalonia las Cortes was a find! It is a jewel of a hotel, and especially at the web-only price I got (79 euros). The room was excellent--quiet, spacious, with the best hotel bathroom I've ever had (huge shower, good hot water, towel warmer). My only criticism is the wireless internet--it doesn't really work in the rooms. Also, an intern was left to staff the front desk alone.

Great location, very good hotel, structure and personnel. Some flaws as for the kind of room found (only one, internal with very thin walls and door) and too hot at night. But very much pleasant common areas and very good bathroom.

Great hotel located near Plaza Santa Ana and walking distance to Plaza Mayor and other sites. Lots of activity and restaurants in the area. Room was very nice having a large bathroom with shower and tub. Bar off lobby. Front desk was very helpful in recommending restaurants and providing other info. Only downside was expensive breakfast not included in room rate - 16 euros per person.

This hotel is a perfect location, only 3-4 blocks from the Prado and the Thyssen and a short distance from a very active square with lots of people watching and cafes/bars. Good tapas bars in the neighborhood too. The Metro is also easy walking distance. We liked the style of the rooms. A bit small with a king bed but very well appointed.

It is a very nice well kept hotel in a very central location for visiting museums, strolling around and shopping with very interesting surrounding(old city with bars and restaurants on nice places, Plaza Mayor not far). Unfortunately we had a room on the 5th floor/roof where we only had a small window high up.

The only problem we had was finding a way to get to and park near the hotel by car when unloading. Otherwise it's well located and reasonable quality for the price.

Staff were efficient and helpful when asked something. Hotel is clean and it's location superb just off Santa Ana Plaza . It made it very easy to walk to all the sights and we were spoiled by choice by the number of taberna's /restaurants close to hotel. Made choosing somewhere to eat difiicult .

We were in Madrid for a weekend and the hotel was in the prime location. Very close to great shopping and restaurants. The Hotel was very nice and the room spacious and very quiet. I would definetly recommend this hotel. The only recommendation I would give the hotel is that the front desk staff could be a little more friendly.

Nice hotel in a great area. This was our last night in Spain, having spent several nights at another hotel in Madrid earlier on, during out trip. This hotel is in a great area for food, as there are a variety of restaurants in the local square. Also, it's just a short walk to Plaza del Sol, which is kind of the heartbeat of the city and central to just about anything.

Great location within easy walking distance of public transportation, museums in the 'triangle' and local restaurants. Well-appointed rooms, offering a good, well-priced alternative to the luxury hotels in the neighborhood. Friendly and accommodating staff throughout. The restaurant was underwhelming. For the price, atmosphere and food offered, one can do much better at a number of alternatives within 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.

Good location. Breakfast overpriced. Decent sized room for major city. The hotel has no parking so putting the car in a nearby public lot was very expensive, over Euro 24 per day. Many good restaurants in the area.

The rooms ae beautifully decorated - quality furnishings and fabrics. Very spacious bathroom - with separate tub and shower, lots of vanity space around the sink, and had a wall mounted magnifying mirror. Breakfast buffet was well laid out, with lots of choices and all food was fresh and tasty. Front desk staff all spoke English, which was helpful to us non-Spanish speakers. The Hotel is located a short one block walk to the Plaza St.Anna, which has a wide variety of tapas bars and restaurants. A very convenient location to shopping and the Prado Museum, too.

This was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The room was excellent, the front desk staff most helpful, and the location simply can't be beat, 1/2 block from Plaza St Ana, and a 10 minute walk to either the Prado or the Plaza Mayor. We recommend it without qualification to everyone visiting Madrid.

Beautiful room in alovely hotel well situated for galleries and nightlife. lovely staff. amazing bathroom. lovely common areas but a little lacking in atmosphere.didn't eat there - to much choice elsewhere. back street noisy with groups of young people who brought own booze and settled down to night out in lane. However two sets of double glazed doors sorted out any noise and actually added to atmosphere earlier when out on little balcony.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days. The hotel has a wonderful location and the rooms are very large by European standards. The staff was very friendly. There was some hallway noise as doors are closed, but overall the rooms are well insulated from any street noise. Excellent ration of quality to price. Highly recommended.

Hotel really good, with a very good price with relation to the location (in the very centre of Madrid). Just a remark for the breakfast, that is not included and in the hotel is really expensive (15€). The first day we decided to have our breakfast in the nearby, and found plenty of bars / cafè that offer good breakfast at a good price. But on Sunday morning, quite all of these bars were closed, since they stayed opend till lat the night before, so we had to pay much...

It's a well maintained modern hotel on a quiet street close to the Prado museum, Retiro Park, the Metro, and the main shopping areas around Plaza del Sol. Everything was clean and worked well, including the WiFi connection. There was an extra charge for breakfast, so I went out to nearby cafes instead.

Internet price said breakfast not included. Hotel instead billed for room with breakfast. So some confusion there about the correct price.
