We stayed in this hotel 4 nights. It's positioned in the center of Madrid, a few meters from Gran Via, but at the same time in a quiet side street. Big breakfast for everyone. Room large enough for two people, including the bathroom. Corridors and public areas clean and comfortable. Staff courteous and professional.

We last stayed here in 2008 and returned because we enjoyed our stay. We were not disappointed; the hotel has been refurbished and completely met/exceeded our expectations. Very handy for the Metro (3 mins) and within walking distance of: Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Royal Palace, Gran Via, Museo Cerralbo etc, etc. Don't be put off by the rather dark and dingy street which leads to the front door, it's quite safe! There are many 4 star hotels in this area which charge accordingly. if you really think 3 stars are beneath you, go to one of them. We're glad we didn't waste our money. We received a warm welcome, a good sized room with facilities and a reasonable breakfast in this economical and well-run establishment.

It's in a perfect location - really central but on a quiet street. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the hotel 4 nights. The hotel is located downtown Madrid at walking distance from all the tourist attractions. In spite of its position, close to the Gran via, the hotel is very quite. The roomns are large and clean. The service is very good and the staff is really competent and polite. The relationship between service and price is excellent. Even if it is not included in the room price, we suggest having breakfast at the hotel.

Our room was fairly basic but a reasonable size and good value for money for a three star hotel. It was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. It is well located and a few minutes walk from the nearest Metro station. The breakfast was reasonable value for a three star hotel and the only negative was that the coffee was Nescafe.

Very kind and professional personnel. The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a few meters from the Senate House. The hotel is very close to the Plaza de Espana subway station, and walking distance from all the main touristic sites of central Madrid: 5 minutes to Palacio Real, 10 minutes to Plaza Major. We were traveling as a couple and would recommend chosing this hotel for a visit to Madrid.

I got what was supposed to be a special deal and thought the quality relative to price was very good. Having booked a single I was given a very spacious twin room. The street outside is not very attractive with some of the buildings seeming to be derelict or empty and one partially demolished, but I did not go to Madrid to spend my time looking at that, and it was very quiet at night. The location was very convenient for a lot of the main sights and also very close to a metro station. Because the breakfast was not included in the price I only had it on the last morning when I was going to the airport. I thought for the price they were charging they should have offered freshly made hot drinks to each guest rather than just providing a dispensing machine, the water which came out of this was not hot enough to make a decent cup of tea which is my preferred drink. Coming down more than half an hour before they finished serving there was hardly any of the cooked food left and it wasn't very hot either, but there was a fairly good selection of other things.

Some problems in the bathroom: the bidet tap was broken and i need to ask fot the toilet brush: there is not inside at my arrive! Cleaning room service decides to put my blancket in the wardrobe each morning: i don't know why... it was on my bed! The concierge said: 50 tv channels, 6 in italian. There are not! The wi.fi. connection is 2€/2hours or 5€ for 24hours, but it is very bad: too slow! Excellent location: quite street, 100mts far from Plaza Espana Metro. I asked to the receptionist about the stamp for my postacards: he said that i could give my postcards to someone with some money at the airport, hoping he will send them instead me... It's so bizarre! Breakfast is not include: it's cost is 9,5€. Too much: Starbuck's is 100 mts far, in front of metro station Plaza Espana, in the corner with Gran Via.

Although not located on a main fancy street such as the "Gran Via", but rather on a narrow unkown street, this is actually good news if you're looking for a good night sleep. This hotel is strategically located at a walking distance of an underground station and bus stop and it is also very near the "Palacio Real" and the "Gran Via". This nice hotel offers clean & comfy rooms at an excellent cost/quality ratio. It also offers free internet access on a business centre and breakfast buffet at an affordable price. Hotel personnel is very friendly and helpful for getting directions. I would definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip to Madrid.

We were happily surprised by how nice the accommodations were at this hotel. We had stayed at a pricier hotel in Madrid two weeks earlier, and Cason de Tormes was as well-located and had better accommodations and extras (like a computer with free internet available in the lobby). The only drawback is being able to hear your neighbors more than one might want to, but for us, this was not a problem. We had considerate neighbors. In fact, the entire stay was completely comfortable and pleasant.

The room does not have a small refrigerator, it a petty because we wanted to buy some tasty goods and bring them home.

Friendly staff - communication in English not a problem. It was easy to hear people in adjoining rooms moving around but this was not an inconvenience, as people during our stay were quiet and considerate.

Excellent hotel! My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. We highly recommend this hotel! A classy hotel with a beautiful room and excellent service. It was clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast for a reasonable price too!

very convenient location and avoid the noisy streets, unbelievable, staff can speak good English, very helpful, the room is tidy, not very small. It is absolutely a good choice if you are budget focused and like to walk around. Brilliant!

Overall my staying at Hotel Cason was very positive. Only a little thing: wireless internet is with fee, and if you buy 1 hour or 24 hours of internet connection, the timing starts from the first connection and goes on regardless of your connection.

Aircondition was broken so it was freezing cold in the room and we both caught a cold because of this. We got unwanted visitors into the room. The persons working in the bar did not know how to open a bottle of wine (its true, they broke 3(!) bottles before managing to open a bottle of red wine).

A very convenient and pleasant place to stay. I arrived late at night and was warmly received. The Metro is very close, there was free internet access available. It was just what I was looking for.

Hotel Cason Del Tormes is an excellent little hotel at the top of the Gran Via .The staff are friendly and speak good English and very helpful for information and advice. Had booked a single room but got a twin room at no extra charge!!. Rooms and bathroom were spotless clean and was more than big enough for my needs . Breakfast is not included in the price but quite frankly there are dozens of good little cafes within a stones throw of the hotel that I did not take hotel`s fare. The hotel is almost right beside the Metro (Plaza de Espana) but down a side street and can be a little hard to find .It is a short walk from the hotel to the Royal Palace. The Prado and other sites are at the other end of the Gran Via and although a good walk is certainly worth it to take in the sites and sounds of Madrid`s main street. I found no noise problems with rooms that have been reported in other reviews. All in all a good stay in the Cason del Tormes. Would have no problem staying again on a return visit

From our experience of travelling widely we consider this hotel to be an excellent base from which to explore Madrid. In addition to our very high ratings for the different categories we recommend it for: it's proximity to the metro; to the old part of Madrid; the helpfulness of the staff, whatever time of the day or night; the quietness of the side street and especially its value for money.

The location of the Hotel is magnific, near to the Metro and several sites of Madrid. But the relationship between price-quality is very poor. For this price, you can found hotels with more facilities One PC for internet for all the quest is inadmissible

I was in Madrid on May 2008 and I found the Hotel on Venere web pages. I'm very happy to have taken this choise because the hotel is really in the centre of the town but in a very quiet street, therefore the reserved room was quiet too. I'm very satisfied of relationship between price/quality. It would have been appreciated if breackfast would have been included.

Our fist stay at this location. This is a very good hotel if you need to be centrally located and are arriving by metro. The rooms were spotless. Their fairly small size didn't matter as we were out all day and just needed a safe, clean, quiet place to sleep. Very friendly and helpful staff. The receptionists had a very good level of English.
