Hotel Axor Barajas - Madrid

Hotel was clean. Room was modern.I thought it was closer to airport as paid 26Euro for cab there but had convenient hotel shuttle back to airport. Was there for only about 8 hours.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good quality modern hotel. Good value.

The hotel is spacious and the rooms are large, and equipped with a small kitchen in addition to all the other facilities you might expect. But - It is a little far from any place of interest (a taxi to Cadiz costs 20 Euro), and the furniture is old. Although the staff is very kind, the hotel needs refurbishment. Right now it looks gloomy.

It's a perfect hotel if tou have to fly from Barajas airport.

The hotel was very good but the shuttle to the airport needs to be more organized. I booked a shuttle service for 1100 for a flight but the shuttle was late. It arrived at 1140 and there was no explanation as to why it was late. Other than the shuttle problems, the hotel itself is worth the money.

The hotel is very modern and clean. Great value for money. The courtesy transportation from/to airport was great. We reserved our return to the airport and did not have any problem getting there on time. Regarding the hotel restaurant, I think it was expensive for the food it serves. No medium prices. I will certaintly come back to this hotel whenever I come out of Barajas airport.

Minimalistic rooms. Heating did not work, so I had a cool night. Minibar with almost nothing. No service room but for lunch and dinner hours. Not a four stars hotel.

Too far from the central city. Only restaurants available outside of the hotel were at the Mall. The buffet breakfast was very expensive with no option to just get coffee. Had to go to the local Makro which is similar to Costco to get a cup of coffee. Otherwise, breakfast would have run between $18-22 per person at the hotel.

Modern, clean hotel with funky furniture. Near airport and shopping centre. Recommended. Room service hours aren't very long - lunch is from 1:30pm and dinner, 8:30pm with a break in between lunch and dinner service.

Good place to stay if you are flying out the next day. Free shuttle to the airport. Restaurant good, but a little expensive and the only place to eat . Excellent facilities. Free wifi.

This was my first stay at Axor,Barajas-chosen because it was conveniently close to the airport. We had breakfast, it was ok, the only thing i don't like it to sit and wait to be served coffee,tea etc. It did not take long time to be served, but i prefer to be able to fetch coffee whenever i like form a mug and not sit and wait to be served.

Nice property. Excellent value. Do not rely on the hotel shuttle. The hotel staff told us it would be there in 10 min. We waited 30 min and called & they said it would be 10 min. It finally arrived about 50 min. after our original call. If we would have known it was going to be 50 min., we would have taken the taxi.

Outstanding value for the money - truly a 4 star place. Very clean, beds were comfortable. Staff was a bit rude, but it was fine, given we were only there for a night on our way to the airport.

I would recommend this hotel. We used it for 1 night's stay after a late incoming flight, and found the facilites to be excellent; the shuttle service was especially useful. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and of high quality. The driver of the shuttle bus back to the aeropuerto deserves a special mention, because he took us to terminal 1 despite our error in taking the bus which was scheduled to go to Terminal 4 only. I would definitely use this hotel again for a similar purpose.

We had a great stay, very clean and spacious room, cyber point on each level. Recommend it if you need to stay near the airport.

Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast, not included in my rate, but excellent and not too expensive. More blankets at the rooms would be good.

Very nice room with great shower - only complaint would be the hairdryer that had to have the button held down the whole time. The food was very reasonable and good. Great breakfast buffet. The shuttle information was very confusing and we got on the wrong shuttle with a nasty driver.

Great hotel and friendly staff. Spacious rooms for a full family of four people. Great value for the price; highly recommend.

It would be useful a coffee maker or at least a electric kettle!!

The hotel designer must never have stayed in a hotel.Dim bathroom lighting-counter space barely fit for 1-no second dressing table. No bed side table.Lobby faces east with 3 floors of glass front,nice for a greenhouse.Usual indifferent staff.Nothing worthwile to walk to.Bring airport food rather than the restaurants.

Only ONE SIGNIFICANT problem - airport shuttle! We waited almost 2 hours after contacting them for them to arrive to pick us up at Terminal 4. Then when the 1st shuttle came by folks who had just arrived (and spoke Spanish) jumped on and we were left for an additional 30 minutes until another shuttle came. I spent a great deal of overseas cellular minutes (roaming charges) calling them inquiring as to when I could expect pick-up. I had 2 elderly wheelchair bound folks traveling with me. Once at hotel, I must say it the facility was great and more than met my expectations. Just the transportation truly SUCKED!!!!

We caught the shuttle which was great, and checked in, but were sent to the building beside us. As a result they included breakfast in the cost which was great. Check in and out was very smooth. We took the shuttle the next morning back to the airport to catch the metro into town, which is where we would stay for the next two days. Directions were given by the reception staff which were accurate. We only stayed there one night as it was close to the airport....but it did not seem close to anything else, so glad we stayed at another hotel in town for the other two nights. We were very pleased with the hotel, it was good quality and service at a good price, and the shuttle was free and handy.

Our stay at this hotel was generally very good. We arrived at the Barajas airport around 22:00 at night, then took the hotel shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. Staff is kind and friendly, space of room is enough for us. Public space should be also attractive for long stayers of businessmen, althouth we stayed there only one night unfortunately.

Good option if you need to stay close to the airport. They have a free shuttle bus from and to the airport. Rooms are spacious and well equiped.

I really liked my stay at Axor and will be back soon.

Axor Barajas was a perfect base for us prior to leaving for Marrakech on a short trip, and then before we left Madrid to travel home. The staff were fantastic - very pleasant and helpful. We were able to leave some of our luggage at the hotel for the three days we were away, and the free airport shuttle was an extra bonus. The rooms were beautiful - very modern and comfortable. Brilliant shower and comfortable beds. Getting into the city was fairly straightforward; a bus and the Metro, and took about 40 minutes. There was also an excellent shopping centre nearby with a wide range of restaurants on the top level. We got a very good rate through Venere.com. All in all, it was an excellent hotel and I am happy to recommend it.

I was surprised with the quality of the Hotel. My expectation was far of what I received. Excellent service, design comfort. Having a good shuttle to Madrid centre this Hotel has nothing to envy other Hotels in the City.

Great location, close to the airport and highways, 15mn from downtown Madrid; spacious rooms, perfect for large family and excellent value-for-money. Staff helpful and nice. An excellent choice.

We traveled 18 days thru Andalusia Spain and booked this hotel for our last nite due to it's convenient location to the airport and our early flight departure. We were greeted by the friendly, helpful hotel staff and they had our reservation correct. We were signed in quickly. The hotel's public areas and rooms are very contemporary, large, open, interesting and immaculately kept. They strive to be eco friendly by saving electricity; the hall lights turn on as you walk down them; your room lights and a/c can't stay on when you leave the room, you remove your key from the switch as you exit the room. Funky but it works! The hotel offers wonderful free bathroom amenities; comb, toothbrush & paste, shower cap, shampoo, bath gel, shaving kit, shoe shine kit, hair dryer and free use of room safe. The different types public rooms on each floor are unique; cyberspot with 6 laptops and internet, the WII room for kids, the relaxing room with big comfy sofas, etc. Rooms have a mini fridge but they are filled with expensive items for purchase, no room to place your food or water and that's a shame. A nice feature they offer in the lobby is quick check out of the hotel and airline check-in and the ability to print your airline boarding pass. Unfortunately the machines are very slow (due to internet connection?) and the one machine was out of paper and the desk help couldn't replace the paper (someone else’s job and they weren’t arriving till the next morning). They did give me an option to use the laptops in the cyberroom with a flash drive, but that internet connection was even slower! Dinner options in the restaurant are not extensive but the food was tasty (except for the potatoes that came with the duck). Prices were steep and I was a bit disappointed that the hotel kept local restaurant hours - for dinner they opened at 8:30 PM and closed at midnight.
