Our first visit to Madrid; surprised to find hotel of this quality in such a central location that did not cost an arm and a leg! The breakfast food could have been kept hotter, however, and the barman lost business by repeatedly disappearing, but overall we were more than happy with our stay. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Location is brilliant, 2 mins from the Metro and in the centre of a great shopping district. Rooms are well equipped (we were upgraded to a superior room) with lots of space, a great bathroom and a terrace - shame the weather didn't lend itself to sitting out.

Hands up our Spanish was not brilliant so perhaps Madrid was not the best city to visit - lesson learned. The Hotel - having driven from another part of Spain we wanted a good location for city and free/low cost parking for car, the hotel must be rolling in Cash their concept of "nominal cost" for a public car park close by is nearly €30 per day, in my book that is not nominal €5 per day (perhaps they should use Google Translator to get a more realistic interpretation of "nominal"). The staff were very low key advising virtually nothing about hotel facilities. When we arrived we asked some questions about parking they had recommended (we advised we were not competent in Spanish), if they had said why did you bother coming to Madrid it would have been more helpful than their advice to speak to car park attendant whose only English was McDonalds & Beckham, a bit insulting. The doorman who took our cases to the room managed to advise us stuff anyone who had stayed in hotel in the last 15 years would know, even after a €10 tip no more info came. We found we had been upgraded from a double to a superior twin – NOT HAPPY their response was the rooms bigger (but not the beds). During our stay we were not bothered by staff and final insult was on checking out, the doorman tried to wrestle case from my hand as I stepped out of lift and carry it the 2 feet to reception I nearly said f off but as highlighted earlier my Spanish is not that good. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough so I won't! I am sure that Madrid is a fantastic city but not if you don't speak Spanish. If only thousands of English, Irish, Australian & American tourists visited every day! On a positive note El Corte Ingles fantastic signs in English & English speaking staff, Salad & Co great staff and Supercor (on outskirts) perhaps they should open some stores (hotels, tapas bars, cafe's...in fact everything you might need) in central Madrid. 4 star rooms, minus 5 stars welcome & help to guest

I thought that the hotel (especially compared to another one in the same street where I later stayed with a tour group) was true to the ads and had elegant public areas upstairs, both inside and outside. Good value for money. It caters well for middle price range clientele. The desk staff were particularly helpful.

The hotel is quite comfortable and relatively centrally located with a quick hop on the metro, which is within a 5-minute walk. The metro was really easy to use and its proximity was a major plus. My room, a single, was quite small, but typical for a hotel in a large European city. The bathroom was more than adequate, and the shower was excellent. Decor was nothing memorable, but typical of a large-chain hotel. The free wifi worked well, and there was a comfortable desk on which to set up the laptop. I had no problem with outside noise, although a nearby room had some noisy gests who made their presence known one late night. My window opened onto an air shaft, but I was happy to be able to get some fresh air into the room. Staff was welcoming and helpful, and all but one were very fluent in English. The lobby is essentially non-existent, and the public rooms were slightly dreary and old-fashioned; but everything was quite comfortable. Breakfast had a huge selection of food, and except for the shortage of fresh fruit was really quite good.

Our family of two adults and two teenagers had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Hotel Atlantico in Madrid. We selected this hotel because of the great location and the positive feedback given by previous guests. The breakfast room and food selection were outstanding, and the electric shutters and high quality windows kept the room peaceful and allowed us to sleep well in what is a very congested area. We will definitely return to the Hotel Atlantico next time we visit Madrid, and we will recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Staff very welcoming and helpful. The room we had was fab, could be a little noisey at night but would expect this as the hotel is on main street and very central.Great location. Would highly recommend. We enjoyed one of the best glasses of sangria ever on the roof terrace.

My friend and I spent a couple of days in Madrid from 18th Nov. The hotel is beautiful, our bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was very well stocked with toiletries including a shaving set, toothpaste and brush and even small bottles of perfume and aftershave! There was a lovely balcony in our room and also electronically controlled metal shutters which help in the evening to drown out any noise there may be from the street. The air con was very efficient also. The 9th floor bar is a must and has various areas for relaxing and a lovely terrace. There is also a dome right at the top of the hotel from where the views are stunning. We had breakfast which cost 9 euro and was very good value there was even cava next to the fruit juices to make bucks fizz! The staff are friendly and very competent. My friend had her handbag stolen from a bar on our first night and Carmelo dealt with it by phoning the police and making sure she got someone who spoke English and also phoned the relevant credit card companies for her to speak to. The location is excellent and there are many shops, bars and restaurants nearby. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Madrid and would highly recommend the Atlantico.

The receptionist was extremely arrogant, condescending and full of himself. He is a detriment to the hotel staff. The Internet in the rooms did not work, which is not something you would expect in a hotel of this quality in the center of a large city.

Good choice for central location, friendly staff, value for money. We asked for quiet room and were given one at the back of the hotel with no view it was on the small side but typical of city centre hotel size. Lovely lounges and bar area. Free internet and use of computer in bar area. All in all a good experience.

First stay in Madrid. Hotel itself is very good and centrally located, but the downside is that the surroundings are less desirable in parts when away from the main street. We had a room overlooking Gran Via, we now know this is never anything less than busy! There are loud sirens going off from emergency vehicles for most of the 24 hours of the day and every morning you are woken by the sound of engines and horns. The hotel is very clean and efficient, our only problem being that we thought they were a bit understaffed on one very busy morning at breakfast (the next day was fine). I would recommend the hotel, but suggest you request a room away from the front (unless you are a very sound sleeper).

Centrally located. The hotel is within close proximity to the metro station and the shopping area. Very convenient. A very clean hotel. Immaculately maintained. The 9th floor is a good place to chill out. Our room is spacious and is in the front of the hotel. We enjoyed a fantastic view of Gran Vie. However, there was a street carnival on the Saturday evening up to 3am when we were there. If you would like to have a good night's sleep, you should ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Soundproofing is very poor in our room. We could hear people above us running their baths and cleaners doing washing up in the morning. Breakfast is 9 euros and offers a reasonable selection. Overall, it is still good value for money given its central location and excellent state of decor but we would definitely ask for a room away from the main street.

We arrived weary from Australia after 24hours of travel Our luggage had decided to stay in London for awhile and the hotel staff were most helpful. they were very helpful with travel, shopping and eating suggestions and we were soon whizzing around Madrid like a local. Their rooms on the 9th floor provided a spot to have a beer, relax and catch up on the emails using the free WiFi. We also indulged ourselves having breakfast in the hotel and this was a pleasant and inexpensive experience (9€ for full breakfast). All in all this hotel and it's staff helped make our visit to Madrid a most memorable one.

Quite pricey (140EUR per night for triple room in high season - August) but location was excellent, the hotel spotless, customer service first class and it is in the centre of Madrid with most places in walking distance. A bit dissapointed with breakfast being an extra 9EUR per person per day, again very pricey. All the BW Hotels I have used in the USA have had breakfast included in the rate. It is possible to get a good breakfast locally for a third of the price.

The location is excellent for exploring the centre of Madrid by foot. There is a multi story carpark within 50 metres walk. A street front room may be noisy - particularly if your visit coincides with a parade. The rooftop balcany and bar are outstanding. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff were very helpful to us in contacting Iberia to trace our lost luggage

My Daughter and I found our room to be very clean and neat. The room was a little small, but adequate for our needs. We found ourselves situated right in the middle of stores and sites combined. The hop-on, hop-off bus completed our tour of the town which took a full day to see. I would definitely recommend Hotel Atlantico to all.

It's a lovely luxiourous hotel in an excellent location. Staff very courteous and helpful. Room kept impeccibly clean. The only complaint is that our room 812 was the one right beneath the Bar on the 9th floor and was quite noisy at night that prevented us from sleeping peacefully. Furniture seemed to be shifted all the time when the bar was in use. Fitted carpeting in the bar should serve as a sound barrier.

Excellent location on Gran Via, the main avenue of Madrid. Very near the Metro, shopping, and cafes. The breakfast was fine and everything was very clean. We changed rooms after our check-in because we wanted air conditioning. Since March is a transition time from heat to air, we had to change rooms. When we changed rooms, we thought we left a jacket in the first room when all along, it was in the suitcase. The staff went with us to the first room, and also checked the hotel laundry, etc. When we found we had made the mistake, they were not upset, just laughed and were really glad we found the coat.

I can say if you try to stay here, you will understand why this is the 1 st choice from 475 hotels in Madrid, really a perfect hotel.Actually, I only stayed in a single room for 2 nights, my room only have a internal window without any view, but I still enjoyed to stay here because of their reasonable price, perfect location and helpful staffs. The location was really convenient, only a few steps away from the plaza mayor and could easily find a place for breakfast since it wasn't included by the hotel. The room itself was really spacious and quiet, only downside was that we weren't able to use the wireless in our room due to some problem and the tv didn't have that many english channels. Located on the bustling Gran Via, I was very impressed with the Hotel Atlantico. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, from the moment we checked in, until the moment we needed a taxi to get us to the airport. The location was good in that we were very close to many restaurants, shops, sightseeing stops, and close to public transportation. The room was relatively spacious and clean. There is in-room wireless internet, but you must pay for it. Same goes for the breakfast buffet at the hotel. There were not many options for breakfast, but it was alright for the money. I was disappointed that there was no fitness center, however. The next time I am in Madrid, I would look into booking here as it was a good value for the money.

We stayed in a triple room which was not very spacious but ok. The acoustic windows protect from the outside noise, but not completly. Yet we considered the hotel localization just perfect. Our neighbors gave us the impression that the walls were too thin. Me, my husband and 12 years old son were very pleased with the front desk staff. Mrs Ruth, specially, gave us the type of treatment which a family, during Christmas, realy needs. All the staff was very nice and efficient. I am sure that this aspect, in particular, will make us consider going back and indicate the Hotel Atlántico to our friends.

This was the first time we stayed in this hotel. The quality vs. price is excellent. In Italy (and in most European cities) for such a price you an hardly find a hotel. Our room was very large (room #802). I will only make an observation about the quietness of the room. There is no soundproofing at all!! For some nights we had noisy neighbours and also the waterpipes of the bathrooms were very noisy. Some days there were no neighbours and we slept very well. In conclusion we were satisfied with this hotel and will certainly return.

The hotel shuttle was at the airport for us. The check-in was easy. The entire staff was gracious and helpful, from giving directions to booking tours. Our 3-bed room featured two balconies which overlooked the vibrant Grand Via, yet, it was quiet and restful at night. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The ninth floor offers several lounge areas, both indoor and outside, with lovely views, as well as a bar. We did not try the buffet breakfast as there were many quick coffee places nearby. Exellent location, close to metro stops, quick walks to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza D'Espana and the Royal Palace. Short metro rides to Retiro Park and Prado. We would stay there again in a minute and highly recommend Hotel Atlantico.

Good location. Staff friendly. There are several metro station around the hotel (but you can walk to all the principal site to visit in Madrid). It's possible, asking the reception, to book a car from/for the aiport for 6 €uro.

Rooms (at least on 6th floor) were newly decorated and of a very high standard with very smart bathrooms and flat screen TV. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Location on Gran Via is very good, noise is not much of a problem with the windows closed. But there was some noise from adjacent rooms. Breakfast -was a chaotic experience and they ran out of many things including bread. Suggest avoiding and going instead to one of many nearby cafes. Also, free shuttle from airport only goes at certain times, so unless you arrive at the right time you will end up having to take a taxi as we did.

The Hotel fully met my standard. The cleanliness, attention to detail, the staff, the comfort of the rooms, all made my friends' stay and mine a stay to remember.

What a fantastic hotel, such a warm welcome from Ruth and the men on the desk. We stayed in Madrid 3 nights, a wonderful experience. Room had a safe, slippers robes etc, our beds were turned down at night with little chocs on pillow, very welcoming after a long days shopping. I was sick on the saturday asked at reception for a doctor and I had a doctor in my door 25 minutes later, he was fantastic. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this was by far the most welcoming, friendly hotel I have ever experience. The bar on the 9th floor is so peaceful and relaxing. A MUST if staying in Madrid.. Book it !!

As you can see from my ratings, the Hotel Best Western Atlantico provided outstanding accommodation and service throughout my three days in Madrid. In particular the staff were welcoming and supportive, the decor was delightful, the breakfast was great value and the location was central. This hotel far exceeds its three star rating. I had the unfortunate experience of having my handbag stolen on my first night - the response from the staff was extremely considerate and helpful.

The hotel has a great location. Accessible to everything and safe. We were given an updgraded double room......2 twin beds put together, though we requested 1 king/queen bed. The floor had a stale smell, but the room was good. The receptionist told us that this was a new floor and all new rooms. Not sure how the older floors would have smelt. Overall clean and good stay, though if not upgraded, I am not sure how our stay would have been. The hotel staff was hit miss.

Only spent one night here in October but we were very impressed. Staff at the front desk and at the bar are very professional and friendly. Our room was very well appointed, extremely clean with a large bathroom and a good queen bed. There's lots of amenities; slippers, bathrobes, good quality bathroom soap and shampoos. The room was very prettily decorated. We face Gran Via and there was a block out shutter for the large window. Great view straight up and down Gran Via which is a non-stop 24 hour party street! Didn't have breakfast. The 9th floor lounge bar and terrace is terrific and a good place to relax and have a drink. It's open from around 3pm through to (I think) midnight. Hotel Atlantico is really well located, just near Callao Metro station and close to theatres, parks, shopping, the lot! The hotel provides a shuttle to the airport for only 6 Euros a person - truly a bargain compared to a taxi. You need to book at reception the day before your departure. I'd stay at the Atlantico again and would recommend it. All in all a terrific hotel at a reasonable price in a great location!

A fantastic hotel in the center of Madrid with lovely spacious rooms. We had 1 room at the front (Gran Via, a very busy street)and 1 at the back side. Although the Gran Via Road is an extremely busy road you don't hear the noise in the rooms. People at the reception desk are all very helpful (and also speaking English). The breakfast buffet seems to be a bit expensive but going out in the morning to find a cheap place to have a breakfast isn't worth the hassle. One of the stops of the Madrid Vision-bus is about 50 metres from the hotel and so is the underground. All so very convenient. The Atlantico is an hotel we can easily recommend to others.

The standard hotel prices mightnot be so attractive as I asctually paid throuf the Venere reservation. In fact the price I paid is really good considering the type of hotel and services offered (competence of employees, excellent breakfast buffet and breakfast room. Location of the hotel is more than good (central); the only negative point is that GranVia cannot be the most quiet of the avenues in Madrid. In case of another trip to Madrid, Best Western Hotel Atlantico will be my first choice for hotel reservation

This was a beautiful hotel for the money. It was located in a convenient, central area. The hotel staff, especially the morning staff, were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in two different rooms, both of which were very clean and spacious. Great breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and stay there again ourselves the next time we are in Madrid.

Best western is a great hotel, it exceeded our expectations in fact of quality, gifts found in the room, spaciousness, and position in the very center of Madrid. Only remarks I can find were a cold welcome from the receptionists, without any hint in finding city places-to-see, noisy neighbours and some ants in the room.

The hotel is excellent and the location is perfect. The services and attention could be better. The shuttle service airport-hotel-airport realy doesn't work. I waited for more than 1 hour when I arrived in Madrid and when I called the hotel I discovered that it doesn't pass in the airport between 1pm and 4pm!!! When I tried to use the service to go the airport I found out that it's not regular and I should have scheduled it one day before.

The Best Western hotel Atlantico is a lovely hotel in a very central area of Madrid. Rooms are nice and clean, very elegant and nicely decorated. The hotel is on the very busy Gran Via, but I couldn't hear a single noise from my bedroom. The staff is kind and helpful. It is a cheap choice if you are looking for a nice and central location (nearest tube station: Callao). I haven't tried breakfast, which was not included in the room price and it costs 9 euros. I would return to this hotel.

Yes, I highly recommend this hotel. It's central to everything. I stayed with my hubby and my sons, 5 & 2 year olds. Our room was very nice. Although, it's right in the shopping area, you can't hear much noise from the street at all.

The hotel location is excelent as it is in the center of Grand Via. We found the noise outside a bit loud, however, it should be offset to its convenient location. The hotel staffs are friendly and kind to all of my family. Excellent cost for value.
