The staff is very nice, the hotel is in the centre of madrid, near the metro (different stops) and in the centre of the movida, there are so many restaurants, shops, coffee bar, is wonderfull!! the room is clean, but not very big, and the bed was similar to french bed, but for the price 50euro to night for a couple, is ok!!

One of the most run-down hotels my wife and I ever stayed in and is in dire need of a complete refurbishing. However, because of its fantastic location the price/quality relationship is quite good and, if it stays that way, could tempt us to consider staying in this hotel in future.

The benefits of this no-frills budget hotel are limited to a fairly low price, a central location, and great views from the windows (e.g. our room faced two splendid art nouveau buildings). The disadvantages, by contrast, were numerous. Breakfast was not included in the price. The staff were mostly helpful but reserved, sometimes to the extent of being unfriendly. Internet access would cost you a prohibitive two euros per hour. It was not until the morning of chechout that we reaslised that the walls of our room were covered with some kind of dust or paint, which left stains all over our bags and clothes. Even more importantly, we found it difficult to sleep in our room as a result of traffic noise and a lack of air conditioning, which was a huge downside for a room facing south.

The Worst Hotel Yet in our 2.5 years in Europe. After reading the reviews I was prepared for noisy (paperthin doors+walls, no window insulation, out the window is evidently where they angrily wash their dishes...) But you cannot avoid SMELLS. The room, although reserved for and labeled as non-smoking, was rank with cigarette smoke (it had an ashtray too!) Opening a window only let in the foul stink of old garbage. I could not imagine staying here on a warmer day as the funk would only be worse. The desk staff are unwelcoming and un-professional. I have stayed at much nicer places in Spain, France, Germany, Italy for less. I get it that Madrid is expensive, but for your sake AVOID THIS HOTEL, either use Madrid's expansive metro and stay somewhere more distant, fork over the extra dough for a nicer hotel, or pay half the price and stay at a hostel and have an equivalent or better stay.

This is a very fine hotel in a great location. The old town begins just on the other side of the avenue. Close to the Metro. Great quality for the price. I will return.

The location is really good, you can reach most of the touristic area just by walking. The room is clean. If u are lucky you can get a room with a view. It is a little bit noisy in the middle of the night from the road.

The hotel location in Madrid is excellent, you are near everything. The hotel is very good, but I think as my friend and I were one night and then other 3 nights more, the price should have been considered. We have to pay more for one night than for three. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay by Hotel Asturias even if room was quite small for two people. The building is old but the position is very good, close to the most important museums and attractions. Perfect if you stay the whole day out and you just go back to the hotel for sleeping.

After 28hrs flying from Australia we were checking in at the lobby. My backpack with Camera, laptop, MP3 and all travel documents except passports, were stolen from near my feet. When discovered, the hotel staff were less than helpfull, telling me to go to the police. They would not call them, and only gave vague directions to the police station. I wonder what the intentions of the staff behind the counter were! Every day there after I enquired as to the 'return' of the backpack. The same set of staff feigned no knowledge and again were less than helpful. This soured our impression of Madrid as a whole. I would not recommend this hotel for that reason. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The fridge had broken down and would not be fixed. There was only one noisy fan to cool the room. We asked for a double bed but was told that there was only twin - not good enough for a booking way in advance.

We stayed 2 nights in july.this is a good choice if you want to have a look to the centre of Madrid and you don't want to spend too much money.the rooms are quite large and clean.a small fridge would be appreciated during hot season in order to drink something fresh. We had just a bit of troubles with students making noises during the night but it happens when schools are closed and students are on holidays..

Good location for turists. Good place for stay 1-3 nights with the main reason to visit all main historical place in the city (excellent location!!!) and only 20-30 min walk distance from train station… if you want to leave early morning. Good location if you want to return for a short brake or take a shower if you walk a lot and tired.

Our room was horrible. There was absolutely no natural light, and our small window faced the garbage dumpsters. We complained about the room being too warm, however there was now way to cool it down, other than to open the window, which brought in garbage stench air. The only plus was the location.

For the money this is a great hotel!!....i enjoyed the room especially......i requested a room with balconies overlooking the street...the lady at reception gave me a corner room with 2 balconies facing 2 different streets....it was a little noisy, but i didnt have any trouble sleeping....i read some of the negative comments before i booked this hotel....and decided it was just too good to be true...the location is superb...we walked to all of the museums and the royal palace....there are many places within 5 minutes to eat...and several markets to get some snacks....I LOVED THIS HOTEL......

The hotel is really in the centre. you can go by foot to the principals interested areas of the centre. the metro station is one minute by foot. at the first look it seems a big hotel but the room was very small and a little bit sad. anyway we had tv in room. personals don't speak english. I think it's a good relationship between price e quality in madrid. if you are interested just in a place to sleep and a base for your travelling in madrid it'a a good chep solution.

The people at the hotel were very rude and didnt seem to want us to stay there very much. we were given our room key and went to the room to find other people were already in the room. then we were give another key to try and went to the room to find 2 single beds, when we told them we booked a double, they told us they only have 1 double and it is not very nice but we took it so we could sleep together. bed was terrible, lots of springs. nice bathrooms and good location.

The hotel was closer to the metro that mention in the map. everything was close, within 2-10 minutes. Our stay was for 7 nights and we were out doing the usual tourist stuff. We normally stay away from the Irish bars but we went this very small bar 10 minute from the hotel and had a great time. And nothing is complete til you see a soccer match, we are GAA fans, so it was different. There is a cafe just up the street as you come out of the hotel to your right great for breakfast.

This place is horrible. the staff is not multi-lingual, cock-roaches were in my room, no air conditioning, no internet service, i put in for a wake up call and did not recieve it. for the price of the room, it was not worth it at all. i don't know how they got a two star rating. for 70 plus euros a night, i would expect a lot more out of this hotel.. there are other hotels that are cheaper and provide a lot more in there services. my room had a great view, but loudness of the street below really puts a damper on the whole madrid experience. i would not recommend this place to even my worse enemy.
