WE WERE IN A TWIN ROOM AND WERE AMAZED TO GET A LOUNGE WITH IT. A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL AND GREAT VALUE.ONE RECEPTION MALE NEEDED TO SMILE MORE AND BE MORE WELCOMING AND THE LUGGAGE PORTER ALTHOUGH EAGER TO HELP, MISCONSTRUED OUR DIRECTIONS BECAUSE OF LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES.

I stayed the 1st.time in Hotel Velazquez.30 - 50 Times I stayed in Madrid.After I have upgrated the room at Euro 35.-- / day the stay was pleasant.The 1st. room was rather dark, overlooking courtyard, elevator was noisy.Peter C. Kerkhof, HotelManager/Hotel Consulter

I was upgraded to a junior suite, which was magnificent. The other rooms were far inferior to this one--small, not clean, in need of renovations. It was as though I was in a different hotel, and would not have stayed if I hadn't gotten the suite. Some of the staff members were totally unfriendly,rude. However, there were also a couple who were great. If your room faces Velazquez, expect street noise, though the view and balcony make it worth it!

El hotel va de acuerdo con la arquitectura de los alrededores, más antiguo que moderno, pero está muy bien ubicado, estando en la mejor zona de Madrid, cerca de las mejores tiendas, y sobretodo en una zona apartada del bullicio y las grandes masas, aún así cerca relativamente de lo turístico. Además, hay un estación de metro a unos pasos del hotel. También hay muy cerca buenos lugares para comer, cenar o copas.Recomendación: El Lateral, buen lugar de tapas y copas para empezar la noche, gente bonita, justo enfrente del hotel. En general, el espacio de las habitaciones es más que suficiente para 2 personas. Seguridad de los alrededores. El servicio y limpieza excelente.En general, muy buena opción si se quiere ir a lo seguro en cuanto estancia, sobretodo en Madrid, donde se encuentran muchos hoteles que aunque nos son baratos, y están bien ubicados, ofrecen condiciones muy pobres de limpieza, estancia y servicio.
