Hotel Fontanella - Madonna di Campiglio

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Fontanella for 1 week in August 2009. The Hotel is a small family run hotel, it has less than 20 rooms divided into 2 floor without lift (that's why we reccomend it for family with older children that do not need stroller). Some rooms face the street on a side and are not so quiet. Our stayed was fantastic: the view of mountain from hotel terrace is like no one other in Madonna di Campiglio, the quality of breakfast is more than expected with fresh croissant, bread, marmelade, butter, juice, cappuccino, milk, coffee or tea and a small variety of cheese and ham. The dinner is excellent: a choice of 3 kind of pasta and 2 kind of meat or fish plus a dessert is served, sometimes with regional food. The quality is high and the taste is delicious, everything is home made. Marco and his wife are really kind and they are always available helping on everything you may need. The hotel is a little bit old even if it is kept perfectly. Marco told us that next summer the hotel probably will be closed for renovation. The hotel is a little bit outsite the city center, this is not a minus during winter since skibus stop in front of the door and you don't need to use the car at all. During summer is better to use the car in any case for enjoying all the fantastic places sorrounding Madonna di Campiglio (lakes, falls, trekking, rafting...) We suggest this hotel to everyone! And the relationship between price and quality is a plus!

Fantastic location looking out onto the mountains and simply excellent value. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and room was clean and well-sized with a good bathroom. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area, it's only 1km from Madonna di Campiglio and much much nicer than staying in the middle of the town. Hotel restaurant is also good!

The staff is very nice, giving us very useful advices about what to do in the surroundings. Room was very quiet and clean, but small and a little old. Breakfast and food very good. The only negative point is that the hotel need some remodeling. I would recommend this hotel.

Very tired decor, looks very dated but very nice, helpful owner, Marco, and the food in the restaurant is excellent.

It was a pitty that we were whole alone in the hotel and we were glad that we brought two friends. But it was nice of them that however there were no other guests, we were still able to choose from different dishes for diner. It was only 2 km away from where we went skiing, so that was a great advantage.

lovely family run hotel. Made to feel very welcome, infact staff could not do enough for us. About 1.5 miles out of the town centre but good free ski-bus. Evening 3 course meal great quality and fantastic value at 15 euro per person. Would defintely recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again

Our stay was incredibly enjoyable, the free hotel bus negated the need to stay within the centre of the resort, the staff were very helpful in every way, the 3 course menus were extremely tasty and good value. Overall for price highly recommended.

All the staff of the hotel were very kind, helpful and flexible. The hotel is located just the entrance of Madonna di Campiglio but no problem to reach the center with the hotel bus and it takes only 3-4 min. Luckily, we happened to stay there during Christmas Holidays so we could enjoy beautiful & gorgeous local Christmas dinner. We all were really satisfied with its superb taste!!! Absolutely, we'll stay at "Fontanella" again in the very near future. Ciao, Ciao!!

A friendly family run hotel which offered home comforts, superb italian cuisine and surely the most wonderful views anywhere.
