Hotel Le Phenix - Lyon

We were put up for the first night in a tiny "mansarde" (room 208) with tiny windows, no place to put your clothes, an evil smell of tobacco and the only chair with a burnt cigarette hole..... I was told I was getting what I had paid for!!!! ( a junior suite!) I had quite an argument with an unfriendly, stubborn receptionist. The second day we then got a double room, quite ok (same price!) similar to those shown on your site! For the rest of our stay (4 days) the unfriendly receptionist stayed out of sight.

I was in Lyon only a night. wonderful staff and gorgeous breakfast

Excellent situation, good breakfast, but... the only guaranteed non-smoking rooms are the high level rooms. we arrived with our child and had to stay in an awfully smoked room. No solution from the desk. Also : Got awoke at 6 o'clock in the morning by long and loud discussions in the houseyard.

The room and the linen smelled like smoke, I don't like it at all since I don't smoke.

Our triple share room was comfortable and big enough, however temperature control - as mentioned on website was not available. Although the weather was not hot, our room was uncomfortably too warm - as was the hotel, and the only relief was a fan provided by staff. Our room faced the road and the street noise made opening the windows impractical. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room rather dark with no outside windows.Front desk excellent and very helpful.Hotel in great location.

Breakfast expensive

Our stay at Le Phenix was very enjoyable. The staff helped us find two excellent restaurants, and were patient with our attempts at the French language. The location was perfect for easy walking throughout the Vieux Lyon area and into the central city. We would definitely go back.

Para mí se ha convertido en mi hotel en Lyon. Unica pega, que resulta muy molesta, es que la habitación puede estar sin arreglar a las cuatro de la tarde.Este punto es importante solucionarlo. Saludos

Very good hotel, good location and good value for money

Our split level room was a bit shabby. Sofa was dirty and walls really needed a coat of paint. On arrival the receptionist handed us a key and happily watched us walk to the wrong part of the hotel. Very quiet most of the time until the couple in the next room got a bit amourous. Excellent location close to the old town. Nice building and common areas.
