Hotel la Tour Rose - Lyon

We loved the hotel and our room. It was an absolutely lovely hotel, and the surroundings, Vieux Lyon, are enchanting. From our window, we were able to see the cathedral, Fourniere, up on the hill. It was the perfect choice. We have friends on the other side of the Saone, and it was a quick 15 minute walk to their flat.

It should have been a nice hotel one day but start to suffer deeply from the general exhaustion of the ''art de vivre'' that Lyon seems to enduring eg quick, cheap and dirty. Too bad!!

We choose an appartment, it was very convenient for 4 persons. Ideally located in the center of Vieux Lyon. The bathroom is very small

This is one of the most beautiful and spacious hotels I've ever stayed at. Very unique indeed!

The Hotel is very nice but there is a lack of personel to attend the guest. The garage was blcked and there was only one person to attend the breakfast, the reception and the garage problem,and to order a taxi. The bill was mistaken and we where charge some extra cost some days after we left

La Tour Rose is a delightful hotel with charm & style, the rooms are unusual & quirky & the whole place has been very thoughtfully renovated. But it is very quiet - great for me but not for everyone. The bar & restaurant were always empty which I thought was a shame. The location is superb. The staff were polite & friendly although it often felt like I was the only guest staying, coming & going from the hotel often without seeing anyone, guests or staff. I was charged more than I was quoted on the internet but I had forgotten my receipt so it was difficult to argue - I should have paid €250 per night & I was charged €300. All in all a charming place & I would definitely stay there again.

Very interesting old hotel right in the middle of Old Lyon. Historical surroundings. Restaurant did not exactly come up to expectations. Desk staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

A really quaint hotel with about 12 rooms. Because of its age it was a bit noisey at night youcould hear people on the street and people coming in late. A lovely stay though worth the visit very central in Old Lyon

La Tour Rose has a certain style, which you'll either like, or not. We didn't. Having said that, it is luxurious, provides great service, it has a great location, it is unique, it is worth a look. But it was not worth stopping in Lyon just to have seen it. Also, don't bother eating dinner there.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful - very unique with a lot of attention to detail and cool touches. I am pretty picky about my rooms (especially the bathrooms) and these were in immaculate condition. They even have Hermes products! It is in a great area of town however it is nearly impossible to get to which really is the only drawback. I will never come by car again since parking is a nightmare and the street it is on is more like an alley but would definitely like to stay at the hotel again when I arrive at Lyon by train. Also, because we arrived late did not get to eat at the restaurant which we will hopefully get to next time because it looks wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel!

Position in centre of Vieux Lyon is why we chose it. Hotel did not send the code for the barriers to let you get close in a car, and did not answer the phone when we called from nearby, so we had to park some distance away and walk to hotel - a small complaint but a bad start. Staff apologetic and subsequently very helpful. Room was fine, bed comfortable, bathroom with shower in bath fine. Decor (as promised) eclectic - all fabric walls, fabric-covered furniture. Decorative but impractical - room very dark. Nowhere to hang a long dress. Breakfast very poor by French standards - toasted (ie old) baguette (no excuse for this with a boulangerie 200m away) and lukewarm water for tea. Secure garage €23. At Venere price of €230 room only it was ok for central Lyon, but I would have been very unhappy at the list price of €330 for (I think) the same room. We were the only guests (a Thurs in Feb) which surprised me.

For a EUR 250 / night hotel, poor. Everything too slow, breakfast room horrible, receptionist couldn't find the room on our arrival, no info about hotel restaurant in room, poor communications.....we are demanding customers, but we will pay for good service.

This hotel has an excellent location in the old city for anyone looking for a weekend break. Each bedroom is decorated using silk as the motif. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lounge area is both modern and comfortable and the log fire was a real welcome in late October/early November.We didn't try the restaurant because prices were too high considering there are lots of good places to sample the local cuisine in the surrounding streets.

A beautiful hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff. My only criticism is that the lighting in the room was inadequate. Otherwise, excellent
