I was very impressed with the room and all the staff that were there. Easy to communicate with and very helpful in explaining the public transport which is very close and easy to manage.

It is good value for the price. Just close to the Lyon Perrache Station and very convenient. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is kind to help you with your needs. It is just enough to have a good rest and relax.

The Hotel is conveniently near the Perrache station next to a small park. There are a number of brasseries in the same location. Unfortunately, the local drunks hang out here as well, generally in front of the hotel. The rooms are very small and basic, but they were clean.

Really easy to get to from the train station and surprisingly quiet for its location. It is a little away from "Old Lyon" but again because it is so close to the station you can use the excellent public transport system to get around. Bars, cafes and shops are all close by and the food is good.

We booked this hotel for 2 couples travelling with the same surname. The Receptionist had only one booking and on arrival was quite confused, however she recovered sufficiently to find another room, which was even less desirable than the reserved room. After a number of unpleasant incidences with this receptionist (maybe even connected with ownership) we decided to find alternative accommodation at another hotel in a more agreeable area. We are not happy that we were charged one night each for breaking this booking despite the fact that only one room was being held.

The location was easily assessed and found, just next to the Perrache Metro station.Staff are so welcoming and cheerful to introduce the places to visit.Breakfast is fairly ok but the price is nor quite reasonable comparing to nearby cafes/buchons for breakfasts.Lift is a bit small but in good condition though very old-styled.Overall a very pleasant stay.

I was only spending one night in Lyon so I was looking for something inexpensive, yet clean and in a convenient location for me to catch my train out of town the next evening. Hotel Dubost fit the bill perfectly. It is literally just steps outside of the Perrache train station. It faces a park and there is not a lot of traffic on the street. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I was there to practice my French and they were very patient and accomodating with my limited language skills. The tram and metro also have stops at Perrache so the location is very convienent for getting around town as well. If you are looking for a clean, budget hotel with a friendly staff, the Hotel Dubost is a very good choice.

Train, tramway, metro and train right at hand ; walking distance (if necessary) to old central Lyon.

Excellent location to visit Lyon. Easy walk to restaurants and access to trams, buses and trains. Rooms are of average size, clean, and quiet if the other guests are considerate. Hotel staff was friendly, spoke English and were very helpful. There is not through street in front of the hotel so traffic noise is minimal. Typical characters in the park across the street. Would definitely stay here again as it is much closer to the restaurant and shopping area than the Part Dieu station area.

It's a nice hotel, we found it quiet and with a good view to a small park with a pet market sunday. There was somebody in the reception also in the night. It is quite close to Place Bellecourt and the pedestrian street, and as it was said very close to the shuttle bus from the Saint Exupry airport.

The hotel is comfortable, excellent location and good value for money. I would stay there again, howver the accomodation is more suited to those looking for nothing more than a base from which to explore the city.

Our only major problem was the quality and quantity of the pillows! We asked for two more but there was only ever one person on duty at a time and the young man who tried to help couldn't locate any. He put a rather thin cushion into a pillowcase and that was it. But otherwise this was a very good value hotel in a very useful location, and the staff were all friendly and pleasant, and made good attempts to speak English (not necessary for me but useful for my husband).

I was surprised at how close this hotel was to the Perrache station - a few metres from the lower level of the transport hub - excellent! Hotel staff were together and helpful. The reception area was smallish but perfectly fine. The room was as I would expect for a 2* - small enough but quite clean and tidy. Overall a nice enough place and I would indeed recommend it :) Slan Leat! DM

This was 'just' ok. A bed for the night was all that this was. Wouldn't stay again.

My only critisism is that the room could have been slightly cleaner - it seemed as though the corners hadn't been hoovered dilligently. But on the plus side, the price and the location near the station were both excellent.

This hotel is in a seedy neighborhood. Just above a city park that was very noisy as was the highway nearby. We had to keep the windows open as there was no air conditioning.

This hotel was ideally located, very close to Lyon Perrache station and only a fairly short walk to the main streets of Lyon. I thought it excellent value for the price and found the rooms clean, relatively large and airy. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would especially recommend it to people arriving by train

Nice and cheap hotel. Only downside was that they added a room tax which wasn't shown on the webpage. However it was only 1.10 Euro.

Hotel Dubost is in a great location, right next to the Gare Perrache (for trains and the metro), close to the old city, the rivers and looks over a park. There are plenty of places to eat and get what you need near by. The room was a good size, nice windows, relatively quiet except for early morning when people were leaving their rooms. The bed was very hard, too hard for my taste, and the shower was incredibly small with a poorly located shower knob that was easily knocked into making the water very hot or very cold and the curtain didn't keep the water in very well. However, the rooms were clean, good sized. The location was the best part of the price.

We stayed for one night only in a twin room. The room was adequate but very basic. Clean yes, beds fine, bathroom fine but shower was one of those ones where the shower head is very low - ie down at bath level. We didn't realise the location of the hotel - in fact, it is RIGHT next to the station (Perrache), in a dark street where there is construction work going on at the moment. There is a park right in front of the hotel (and the station) which made us feel quite unsafe at night because we were two girls travelling alone. After arriving, we decided to change hotels and move closer towards the Place Bellecour. From our new hotel, it was still a short walk to the station, but the tourist sights and restaurants in the pedestrianised rue de Meuniere (I think?) were just a short walk away. Our new hotel was a 3 star one and only 8 euros more a night. I wouldn't return to Dubost, although it is quite an adequate hotel.

This hotel was a delightful surprise. It was extremely easy to find when arriving on the Airport shuttle - take the Place Carnot exit from the station and turn left at the foot of the escalator, and there is the hotel across the road. The location is perfect. It faces directly onto a park, with cafes only a minute or two away (better value than hotel breakfast). From the hotel you can walk to Place Bellecour and on to the Hotel de Ville almost entirely through pedestrian malls. Or take the metro. The hotel can sell you a Metro day pass for 4 Euro which you can use on all trains, trams and buses - including the funiculaire to Fourviere. The station is adjacent to the hotel. The hotel was much quieter than I expected from its location on the map. Reception is open 24hrs and they speak English. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. It was good value at the price and I would stay there again.

Dubost, while a nice hotel, is in one of the worst areas of Lyon as it is literally right next to the Perrache train station. By 2009 this should be a lovely area as a lot of rejuvination projects are in the works, however, for the time being pass on this property. Being next to the train station, it is in a very loud location that at times is too dirty and crowded for even the more adveturous tourist. I would suggest looking for a hotel in Vieuw Lyon as a first choice and near Place Bellacour as a second.

A good value, and very convenient to the train staion (Perrache). Also a good location from which to explore Lyon, near the subway and halfway between Old and New Lyon.
