Hotel De la Croix Rousse - Lyon

It's a tiny hotel with a good value (but not when there are city feasts as "fete des lumieres" or new year / high season and so on) well located (50 mt from metro station) and with a lots of shops, restaurants in sorraundings. Staff specks only french, the breakfast is a bit poor but it's however a 2 stars hotel.

Other than the fair right outside the hotel, which was noisy until about 11pm, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel met our expectations - the family who ran the hotel were very keen to please.

room small, wc unusable, no power plug to recharge my phone, tv dysfunctionning, i didnt dare to take a shower in my two days stay !!!! and all this for more than 70 euros a night !!! it's a shame !!!

Aside from the issue that we booked for 3 days and discovered afterward from one of your mail that there were only 2 nights available (thank you for your timely communication) everything went as expected. This is a traditional french hotel, like there were so many in the 60s / 70s. It is very well located in the center of La Croix-Rousse, also very close to the metro. The building is typical of the local traditional architecture. The amenities are simple and adequate for travel as long as you are not looking for a luxury hotel.

A bit on the shabby side due to the age of the hotel, but the room was extremely large with a nice view of the distant St. Jean cathedral. There was a double and THREE single beds with plenty to space between! The TV was microscopic, but for one night it was fine. The location is a bit far from Old Lyon. We were charged a bit higher than what was quoted through www.venere.com.

A pretty blah hotel. Small, characterless rooms which weren't at all appealing. I wouldn't stay here again.

Although the staff were quite helpful the quality of the hotel was very basic indeed!!! A very small room, with old and rickety furniture in a noisy corridor... The bathroom was adequate but just that, adequate. In spite of what is indicated on the website, there was no internet access in the hotel. There were no opportunities to eat in the evening apart from a local cafe which is not necessarily suitable for a woman on her own. Breakfast was expensive for the quality and quantity on offer. I did not take it. I was very disappointed and expected better for 57 euros a night. Campanile and Ibis hotels offer better value for money. The hotel needs a complete refurbishment; it is however well situated next to a "metro" station.
