Hotel College - Lyon

The hotel was as described... A former school with all white rooms. We loved it. The reception desk was an old leather topped vaulting horse! The receptionist we had most dealings with was extremely helpful and friendly, especially as we arrived soaked after a day riding in the rain on our motorbike. We liked the old style big American fridges in the corridors full of soft drinks (free to take) which we were encouraged to take - and for our onward journey...

Breakfast was good as was the little fridges stocked with free water and pop - a nice touch. the common terrace was also nice. centrally loated to the old town was also a nice plus. The rooom was fine, although it needed a good dust cleaning. Unfortunately, the shower design (typical in many European hotels) where the floor is common between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, is condusive to moisture build up and we had a few ants in the bathroom.

Excellent value hotel with friendly service and perfect location in Vieux Lyon. Only negative was late night noise from bar opposite hotel.

Good location to explore the old town. Bus stop (line #3) around the corner, bus connects to metro a few stops away. A Pub is close-by, so you might hear people singing at night, nevertheless it feels safe. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, instead we got our pain au chocolat at the bakery around the corner. Good selection of restaurants in the old town, especially the Happy Family and Friends in Rue Boeuf is recommendable. Rooms are rather small, but ok. The terrace is a plus.

The hotel is cenrally located and walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. We did not mind to be on our feet seeing the city and the sites. The room is rather small but quaint,the bathroom is big and very clean and the view of the city is awesome especially at nite when the city is lighted It reminded me of my college days at the dormitory- the furniture and the closet so I actually passed by the memory lane again with a smile and a secret. Conveniently located in old town (excellent location). Terrace area a plus. Room was spacious & clean. Staff were very friendly. Would defintely stay there again!

Very comfortable hotel right at the edge of the old town walking area. All employees are knowledgable and helpful--the best I've seen. They went out of their way to make our stay and our continuing journey successful. The breakfast was good and there were many eating places in the area. The decor added to the experience. We spent the first night of our three days in Lyon at the Radisson. The College Hotel was better at a third the price.

Das Hotel ist ohne Frage außergewöhnlich. Es ist mitten in der Altstadt von Lyon situiert und daher ist der Stadtlärm vorhanden. Die Terrasse ist sehr groß und man kann dort auch mal einen Tag gut faulenzen, ansonsten sind die wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar. Auf jedem Flur steht ein Kühlschrank mit kostenlosen Getränken (Wasser, Cola, Orangina). Ich würde wieder dort übernachten.
