Nice hotel at a good price. Surroundings and location is not the best but it is not far from city center and free parking is available. The restaurant is excellent!!

nice hotel; value for money; scaly area; traffic very busy especially if you travel by own transport and do not know the area; above average staff proficient in staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Axotel. The good points for us were: * Free parking which was close to the hotel * Friendly reception staff * relatively large rooms which were clean The not-so-good: * Its not that far away from a jail! * The surrounding area is seedy late at night although we did feel safe * We had a cleaning lady come into our room while we were still in the room. * For some reason, we had numerous occasions where other hotel guests attempted to access our room. * The room didn't have a hair dryer although they were available at reception upon request each day. * At the time of our stay, there was minor construction work occuring within the hotel which was disruptive. Dispite the above points, we would still recommend this hotel to people that could accept the above compromises. Thanks

the hotel was very nice and the restaurant looked nice as well. The area around the hotel was a bit shady.

Everything was great, the room size very big and comfortable. The only problem is that we arrived 30 minutes later after our check out time and the maid was so upset that she kind of bitched at us...obviously we did not discuss with her, but she missed a good tip. Except that, the staff very helpful, nice hotel, great rooms. Good Location, a bit of a walk.

I recommend this hotel as an excellent budget conscious choice. It's just few minutes away from city center, rivers, rue Victor Hugo and also from Gare SNFC. The staff was a kind & helpful. Overall a good & enjoyable stay.

To be candid, I was more than impressed with the efficiency with respect to the handling of our reservation and also that everything was expedited as agreed and planned. It's not often that one can make these arrangements through the internet and have such a pleasant experience. To this end, we will most definitely utilise your services in the future. Many thanks to your staff for the superb efficiency and the great customer relations they demonstarted during our short stay. Best regards, Gerald.

A great value hotel but in a grey, dirty, boring part of town.

Axotel Perrache was a very nice hotel, with very clean rooms and bathrooms, which is the most important thing in a hotel in my opinion. It was very close to Perrache Rail Station, so transportation was very easy. The only problem was that the people from Lyon said that the neighborhood was not very safe. Fortunately, I did not have any problems or did not witness anyone having problems with the people in the neighborhood. The breakfast was good with a range of cheese varieties, but for those who do not wish to spend money on it, there are also pastry shops very close to the hotel.

Iregret just one thing, on your website I found the breakfast was included in the final price, but it wasn't. The receptionist told me I had to pay for it another fee and I did it obviously. Anyway, It was a good service.

The hotel was a fair value for the price. It is in a dead part of town, but a ten minute walk to the nearest train station which was convenient. I would stay there again if I go back to Lyon.

This is an outstanding little hotel with an excellent price to quality ratio. My room was lovely, featuring a decorative colour scheme that was quite soothing, and quiet. The room was immaculately maintained. The hotel is a very easy and safe walk (in the evenings, too) to the historic city centre. The staff are excellent. One improvement I would like to see, which goes for all French hotels in the two to three star range, is free wireless internet. Similar Italian hotels seem to do it, and they include decent breakfasts, too. The charges in France for Wi-Fi service are absurd, not only in this hotel, but in all the French hotels I've stayed this fall (Strasbourg, Dijon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lyon), and have no relation to the cost of providing the service to hotel guests. €10 for two hours and €30 for one day are utterly laughable prices. Obviously the French hospitality industry is feeding mercilessly on corporate expense accounts. Good thing that the Parreche railway station, five minutes away from this hotel, has an excellent internet cafe, open late, that charges about €1.50 per hour.

I would both recommend this hotel and be happy to stay there again. The rooms (we had two singles) were clean, newly appointed, spacious, quiet, and fitted with excellent bathrooms. A very good value for the price. The location is away from the tourist areas of most note, but not so far and just a 10 minute walk thru a nice neighborhood to the transit hub of Gare Perrache where train, metro, and bus all converge. Getting around was no problem and returning at night to a quiet neighborhood was welcome at the end of the day. The below street level, windowless and somewhat cramped dining room for petit dejuener was the only disappointment.

Amazing value for money! Everything clean & well maitained. Perfect for short stay. Big road near by pretty loud at night. Restaurant unfortunately closed, recommodation was quit expensive.

The hotel was easy to find although not as close to the hotel as we thought (approx. 7-8 min walking). It was surprisingly new and clean that we thought we came to the wrong place. It was hot when we were there (late June) and no electric fan in the room, we owe a lot to the staff who kindly lent us a fan. We did not take breakfast as it was an addition of 8 Euro. The restaurant in front of the hotel was nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great quality for reasonable price. Included continental breakfast was wonderful. Not as close to the main city centre and old town as I thought but that's mainly because Lyon is larger than expected. I would stay here again.

Arriving at the nearest rail station,Lyon Perrache,i found the hotel easy enough to find, about a 5-10 minute walk, though i saw no signs.(leave via south exit, down escalators, straight ahead to crossroad with church on left, turn left here, hotel on right past church). I booked in with the freindly english speaking staff. The room was clean, well decorated and quiet. My only complaint was that the price did not include breakfast,an extra 8 euros for a cold buffet, though the choice and quality was good. All in all,an above average hotel i would stay at again.
