We got a room that was said to be the best room in the hotel, makes me wonder how the worst room looked like??!! Our room was in the basement, down a small stair with no escape possibility in case of fire. Smell om fungus and we were glad to stay for only one night.

Lucky I called prior to arrive to inform my latest arrival. Even on the web site mentionned free time of arrival; on phone end was 11.30 pm ... Thanks front desk people accepted to stay to welcome me ... The bed was a little bit smaller than expected ...

This was the first time that I had stayed at the Hotel Stockwood. I did not book an ensuite room. The room I had was clean, so was the toilet. The shower room would not have passed inspection by TV's 'Hotel Inspector', it was not particularly clean and the outflow was blocked. The receptionist was polite and helpful. He recommended several places for an evening meal. I chose to eat at O'Shea a nearby pub where the food and atmosphere were excellent. I booked at this hotel rather than a hotel near the airport such as Ibis because of the price. However the cost of taxi fares to and from airport and station meant that would have been just as cheap had I stayed at a nearer more convenient hotel (such as Ibis.)

By car
From the M1 motorway, come down the dual carriageway and take the first left. Go straight down passing the Stockwood golf course located on your left. On your right will be a Shell petrol garage. The hotel is located right on the opposite side.
From Luton airport, reach the roundabout and take a left turn onto Airport Way (A1081). Go straight towards the small roundabout and on to the dual carriageway. At Kidney Wood roundabout, take the third exit on the right. Go straight down passing the Stockwood golf course located on your right. On your right will be a Shell petrol garage. The hotel is located right on the opposite side.
