Continental Parkhotel - Lugano

Excellent historical hotel, with refurbished rooms, convenient to the railway station, but very quiet. Helpful & friendly staff.

Best value hotel during my entire trip! I was put in one of the newly-renovated rooms - it looked absolutely brand new! The staff were friendly and helpful, they welcomed me to the hotel when I arrived and asked me if I wanted suggestions for local activities. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING!

We were pleased to be given an upgrade to the main building. There is a lift to the left of the front entrance stairs which was very helpful to us during our stay. We just wish we had noticed when we arrived in the rain having walked from the train station! Breakfast was very pleasant.

This is a nice/good hotel with a very professionnel staff. Comming back from Italy, Lugano (Switzerland) seems to be globaly very expensive. If I compare with Como (Italy) the ratio value for money seems to me better.

I been in this Hotel after 3 days spent in the ugly Hotel Villa Rosa in Cernobbio. The stay at Continental in Lugano has been perfect. Beautifull and wide room with balcony. Modern and complete bathroom with a perfect shower. The staff at reception, at swimming pool and restaurant competent, discrete and smailing!! I had really a perfect stay. Thanks

Hotel is really fine, location not so perfect, railroads just a few meters from the entrance gate. Anyhow, you are just some minutes (walking) from the city centre, so this is a minor problem. Staff was really ok, apart from a brief discussion we had with a clerk that did not understand our proposal to solve a problem related with our stay: she disappeared and, after a long wait, the director came and she repeated the same exact solution we had proposed many minutes before.... like it was HER idea ;-)!! Just a small stain in a otherwise perfect stay, we would return there for sure.

The hotel has been recently completely refurbished, so the structure is excellent, and the staff is very nice and competent. Vast choice of salty and sweet at breakfast. Highly recommended!

I was very impressed with the customer service in this hotel, and particularly with the fact that all the reception staff spoke at least adequate and usually good English - better than the local Tourist Office in fact - and went out of their way to be helpful! It also had a very nice relaxed feeling about it, and was almost perfectly situated for my stay. (As an aside, I can't remember the hotel website because it's weeks since I booked, so why am I forced to answer questions about it?!)

The location is excellent, an easy walk from the train station and a little more difficult walk downhill to the town center. There is a funiculaire starting at the train station which takes travelers into the town center and back again. A better option than walking back up the steep hill to the hotel. The garden surrounding the hotel with its palm trees creates an oasis that makes this a lovely spot, even if trains do run in front of the hotel. The hotel staff at the desk spoke very good English, were very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet, overlooked the garden and held a generous-sized shower. The bar was small but adequate. The included breakfast was delicious in a very lovely setting. The whole hotel gave a sense of living in a luxurious, gracious past and not one of slick modernity. I highly recommend this hotel for many reasons but the prime one is location. It is so close to the train station that I was able to easily tote my luggage and no taxi necessary.

We picked this hotel for the location, near to train station and the price not too high. Due to proximity to train station, it can get a bit noisy, but the lake view compensates this shortfall. The common area of hotel is very nice, room interior practical and simple.

Stayed for two nights on a business visit. Clean and well maintained hotel. Very friendly and competent staff who go the extra mile to help you. Arranged my travel to airport go smoothly. Breakfast was excellent. Free wi-fi access in all rooms gets an extra star

In short, our stay at this hotel was superb! Proximity to the train station can't be beat: about a 5 minute walk (if that), and it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the town center and the lake. Every member of the staff from the check-in desk to the restaurant was exceptionally courteous and knowledgeable; they all spoke excellent Engish (in addition to Italian and German). The young lady who checked us in upgraded our room for free without us even asking or hinting. She also suggsted a teriffic place for dinner that we wouldn't have found otherwise, and it was terrific, featuring authentic local cuisine at a great price. The room was immaculate and very modern with an incredible view of the lake. The flatscreen was great and there were several channels with programming in English. Breakfast in the morning was the best I've encountered in Europe. Great quality of food with a lot of variety. I have no idea why this hotel only rates three stars. Outstanding value for the price. If you can't already tell from the lengthy review, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lugano! When we come back, we're definitely staying here again!

I highly recommend this hotel, it is located in a perfect position, upon the hill with a nice panorama, really close to the railway station and close to the city center. The restaurant serves good food but the choice is not very wide and not very typical.
