The Falken hotel was in a great location, right in the heart of the old town! The hotel itself didn't have too much to offer, but the rooms are very clean and cozy and not that expensive (in comparison to other hotels in the vicinity). My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with our choice. The hotel itself was very quiet, but we had a room overlooking Falkengasse street and if the window was open, it got a bit noisy. The rooms have no AC, but at this time of year there is no need... keeping the window slightly open was great. The bathroom and room was a bit small, but everything we needed was there, and there was even a closet where we could organize our clothing in. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

Well situated but rooms too small, too hot and poor equipment. No lounge, no possibility to have breakfast. Expensive for what it offers.

The pension itself is very nice. The room is tiny! 11 by 11 feet, but nicely appointed. One person at the desk, the evening staff was helpful, the rest were very polite but unable to assist us. The restaurant Tou Tou is extremely overpriced with not enough food. One rum and coke cocktail was 19 US dollars! However, the breakfast provided was excellent, the best we had in five weeks in Europe. We think all ages would like The Falken, but they need to know that the restaurant is overpriced and not that good. And that the rooms can be very small.

I am truly disappointed with the place.. I think the owner had to decide to "spruce up", keep his operations of the restaurant separate from the hotel. It is really an unpleasant sight to see furnitures stacked away on each floor. The lift is transparent to the kitchen, so you could see as you ride the lift, which again is unsightly! Sorry but you should not recommend this hotel to your enquiries in future, until the hotel management did a spruce up!

We enjoyed our stay - the location was super! I suggest you include breakfast in the hotel daily room rate - pretty much the case in every other hotel. Wi-Fi in rooms will make this place more attractive

My GPS guided me only into the right direction but there was no chance to park the car. When I was finally able to leave my car somewhere and looked for the hotel on foot I saw there was no parking space at all in front of the hotel. I had made a reservation for the parking lot by phone. This was available but it was in a distance of a 10 minutes walk. So I had to carry my suitcase next day upstairs to the parking lot where there was only about 5 cm space between a wall and the next parked car. A very poor but expensive parking lot indeed.

Comfortable, clean room. Great value for the money. The only 2 problems I had were an obnoxious loud whiney kid and parents down the hall that kept un into the night, tough this is hardly the hotel's fault! The only other problem was finding this place! The directions given were horrible at best. But once I found the place, it did redeem itself through hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and value!

THE HOTEL IS COMFORTABLE AND RIGHT INTO THE CENTER OF THE TOWN. THERE IS A CHINESE RESTAURANT AT THE ENTRANCE AND IT SPREADS THE SMELL OF FOOD ALL OVER THE HOTEL. THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. ALL IN TOTAL IS A GOOD HOTEL AND THE TOWN IS VERY BEAUTIFUL.

We updated our gps and the hotel name changed. So we had a walk of about 3km to the Falken Hotel in Falken strasse. Our Falken hotel is in Falken gasse. Otherwise it was a very nice place to stay.

This hotel is basically some rooms above a restaurant. We walked by it twice because it doesn't look like a hotel and doesn't really have a lobby. The room held four thanks to bunk beds but was very small and tight. It was clean and located right where we wanted to be at the right price. The hostess was very nice and found us a fan on a very hot hotel night (no ac in July). Lucerne is expensive and finding a room for 4 led us here. I cannot recommend it unless your budget demands the lower rates and you do not care where you stay so long as the location is near the train station and the old city section. Lucern was a great city to visit. A mountain tour is recommended on your tour. Take note: make written comments on these reviews so others know what to expect at these hotels.

The hotel car park is almost not existant (only three units available) and is always full. So you have to find a different accomodation for your car, which, in Lucerne, is usually very expensive.

This was a very poor hotel. The price quoted on venere.com was not honored. When we arrived we were told there would be a 3.5% surcharge if we paid by credit card. This was not stated on venere. There was no a/c. To give you an idea of how bad this place was they used ceiling fixtures for wall sconces. I needed a hotel room at the last minute and this was the only one available. Next time I would stay in the park and save the outrageous amount of money they wanted for this room.

This is not your typical hotel. The building is a combination of a Hotel/Asian food restaurant. You a welcomed and registered at the restaurant bar which is a hotel reception at the same time. Rooms though are OK for the price. Have cash with you to pay for the room or you will be charged extra 3% for paying with a credit card. OK choice if you are planning to spend just couple of nights in a beautiful but expensive city.

Property had been subject to recent flooding. Ground floor stripped out and under refurbishment. No telephone or e-mail connection to the property. Lift not working due to limited power supply. Temporary electricity supply for bedrooms. Staff not helpful - offered 30% reduction off quoted price for no breakfast. They had to be ordered to carry our cases to room on the third floor. When we said we would go elsewhere, we were informed that we would be billed for the offer amount (€143.00) as we had not cancelled within the specified time, even though the hotel had neither telephone or e-mail connections. This hotel should not have been operating in its damaged condition and as a booked customer, I should have been informed of its condition before my arrival, so that I could make alternative arrangements if considered necessary. I would advise potential customers to avoid this premises until December 2005 at the earliest.
