Hotel San Martino - Lucca

Cute hotel within the walled city. It is close to all major sites. Beautiful city and so much to see around every piazza. The hotel was a little difficult to reach, even though it was not far in distance. We walked from the train station and all the steps made it difficult to walk with luggage. Secure parking is available a short distance away, for an expensive 15 Euros per day. We would return to Lucca, and while the hotel was nice, we would probably review other options. No elevator and we were on the third floor.

We stayed in 10 different hotels on our 3 week trip, and this was our favorite! Cozy and welcoming, perfect location and attentive staff.

We stayed in Lucca for 3 nights, one more than intended because of a rail strike. There was no problem extending our stay at the hotel - and for the same price. The hotel was in very close proximity to the Piazza Napoleon where we were attending a summer concert. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and we will return next year.

Nice place to stay in the wonderful city of Lucca.

Very nice hotel. Comfortable, modern bathroom, great bed, good air conditioning, quality breakfast. Close to bus (to Pisa and Florence) and to rail station. A few blocks to city walk.

Hotel was well located but a bit hard to find using instructions provided. Rooms were nice and very spacious. Air conditioning was not individually controlled and turned off in the middle of the night. Breakfast was excellent.

Hotel is well situated inside the old walls and walking distance of all the sights, restaurants and shops. Staff very welcoming and helpful.Breakfast good. Small lounge and bar plus area outside with tables and chairs. We found hotel easily but while we were there one couple spent an hour looking for it. Better map on hotel website would help. We would definitely stay there again.

First time at Hotel San Martino and we loved it. It was close to all the main sights and restaurants and we will certainly book this hotel again. Lucca was lovely and a very safe city to visit.

Courteous and helpful reception staff. Good breakfast. Under ten minutes by foot from the train station. Highly recommended.

Quiet location yet within the city walls. Excellent staff - free Wi-Fi - secure parking. I am very happy to recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff. Lovely room, cooled by good air-con. Great location within the walls but also close to the station, easy enough for us to drag our luggage rather than getting a taxi. Best bit was having a relaxing drink sitting outside at the end of the evening.

Overall the hotel was very nice. It's location was excellent right inside the city walls in the middle of all the amenities, restaurants and bars yet it was quiet in the room. Just a little niggle was being charged 10 euros to park the car overnight.

Camera appena rinnovata, ma molto "calda", ampia, con vasca idromassaggio e televisore anche in bagno, moderno, ma molto gradevole. Colazione ottima e varia. Ambiente familiare, ma raffinato.

Although situated in a hard to find back alley, this hotel is a real gem. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are friendly and helpful. They all speak excellent English but they indulged and helped my attempts to speak Italian, not always the case in busy hotels. The rooms are not large, but very comfortable and meet all needs. The public area is compact, but the mirrored wall managed to fool me everytime into thinking it was much bigger. The breakfast was plentiful and designed to meet all tastes. The patio area outside is charming and will be a good place for breakfast or an evening drink - a little too cool for us in April! An expansion to twelve room is nearly complete, which is an indication of the hotel's popularity. This was our first visit to Lucca. Although obviously popular as a tourist destination it's a very "real" town. It's an excellent centre for touring Tuscany, and if we do this in the future we will certainly return to Albergo San Martino.

The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was spacious. The location was excellent. Public area was adequate. The staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants and getting taxis. I would stay there again.
