This hotel is in a superb location and what made the visit really excellent was the friendly and helpful service from the young staff, especially Ellis on the desk at our arrival. But although we greatly enjoyed the stay abd would return, the place could do more to justify its 4 star classification. It would be good to have pegs to hang outer garments in the rooms (vital if its wet); perhaps the jacuzzi should work and not be defunct; air conditioning should be available at all seasons (since windows may need to be kept closed because of noise).

Great location right on the main shopping street. Pretty quiet for the location. Room was spacious, very clean and the service was friendly and expedient. They had a cot for our 1 year old, but no highchair. Breakfast was decent for a european hotel. Wish they'd had eggs or sliced fresh fruit though. We would recommend this B&B.

We had a great time while staying at this superb hotel in Lucca : the location is excellent, very central, perfect to visit the city. We found a very courteous staff, the room was quite large, really clean and delightfully decorated. The breakfast was great! We happily recommend it!

Beautiful hotel with good security and location. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. If noise is a concern, this hotel is opposite a school and does not have double glazing on windows so can be a little noisy. No breakfast is included in rate.

The hotel was great and our room with a view onto Via Fullingo was a highlight. Even with the street outside it was quiet and relaxing at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. I found the manager a bit annoying in his need to explain how much he loved the hotel and that money was not important to him. My wife called him "passionate;" I found him annoying. Overall, a great place to stay.

The parking situation needs to be more clearly explained before someone drives into the city. We came on a day when the streets were closed to autos. The employees were very helpful. The breakfast was quite nice. The rooms are cheerful. The location (once you get parked) is great; right in the middle of the city. I'd come back!

The hotel was wonderful. The hospitality/service was amazing. There is no elevator and there is a steep staircase to enter the hotel. Hotel is right in the middle of Lucca; we had a triple (double bed and single bed). I felt like I was at home!

Very comfortable rooms, kind and efficient service, centrally located. A small, discreet but extremely pleasant hotel that feels like an elegant home.

Very well located small hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was good and promptly served. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Only negative was that there were few "frills" (eg no tissue boxes in the bathroom, poor quality shampoo). Shame - with the price positioning of the hotel they should do better than this.

The hotel was great but the staff was even better. VERY helpful and friendly as well as knowledgeable of the area and restaurants. Loved the Da Leo and the Guilio restaurants all within walking distance, both family owned and run. fg

We stayed for 2 nights out of a 6 night break. This hotel is in a fantastic location and was extremely clean and tidy, the staff were very attentive. The breakfast was very basic and there are no public rooms to speak of. Be warned there is a flight of stairs to climb in order to reach the hotel, although not a problem to us, the infirm or disabled would have a serious problem. I would probably not stay at this hotel again.

Unlike some of the other reviews, we had great service at A Palazzo Busdraghi. The woman who was at the desk when we arrived couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Subsequent receptionist was good too and the waiter who served breakfast was amazingly friendly. The location is perfect and the rooms were nice. I don't think this hotel was worth the money. It was incredibly expensive with no amenities(other than breakfast) i.e. a bottle of water in the room or whatever. For the kind of money spent here there could have been something provided to make it more "special."Not having stayed anywhere else in Lucca I'm not aware of the market, however so maybe this is typical.

I stayed with the Hotel A Palazzo Busdraghi with my girlfriend for 2 nights to escape our house which was in the middle of building works. I surprised her with the news the night before that we were going to Italy and would not disclose where we would be staying when we got there! After we were dropped off from Lucca train station the following day to the hotel we were immediately made to feel welcome and the room which we were given was immaculate and inspiringly beautiful! Outside the hotel you are immediately within the heart of Lucca with access to all of the main attractions. We would both recommend it as a romantic destination with welcoming staff

An excellent choice for a short visit to Lucca town. Superb location, good spacious and comfortable rooms and excellent but understated service. Breakfast very good but not quite matching the hype. No particular frills to this quiet hotel but only a few steps out of the courtyard into the main street of Lucca.

A lovely hotel, with really welcoming and helpful staff. Facilities at the hotel were more limited than we expected - and therefore we found the price a little high.

Rooms were clean, spacious and elegantly furnished with family antiques. Although this is a small hotel with few staff, they were gracious and extrememely helpful to welcome our party and make us comfortable. Desk clerk was willing to go the extra mile in researching nearby activities for us. They even offered to lay out a special breakfast for us at 5 am due to our early departure.

The only downside to Palazzo is the staircase upon arrival and lack of elevator. Our suitcase was heavy so we did not want to use the porter. The two receptionists were delightful and surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco (which we shared with other guests) upon hearing of our anniversary stay. They could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We will definitely recommend.

This was a wonderful hotel in an excellent location within the walled city of Lucca. The staff is excellent and extremely helpful -- their restaurant recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be back - hopefully soon!

My daughter and I loved this hotel and its location. WE have been to Lucca many times, but this was our first time in this hotel. The only thing we did not expect was to have NO elevator and very long staircases. However, the guys at the desk carried our luggage for us and were most accommodating. I would not recommend this hotel for handicapped persons at all. It was a wonderful place to stay though and the room was quite spacious for Italy. The parking garage was a little inconvenient and it is best to just go directly there first since it is truly a pedestrian town but this was not possible since it is a couple blocks from the hotel and one would have no way of knowing where it is until you arrived at the hotel. I would recommend arrivals during riposa, from 1-3PM to avoid congestion with the pedestrians. The people there were just great!

This is a wonderful, small hotel on the main walking street within the walls of Lucca. It was an old palace and has been elegantly re-done. It has only seven, very nice, well decorated rooms, and has only been open approx. 10 months. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
