I really liked this hotel; my stay was brilliant, the room was lovely and I had a great time. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the town. The staff was very helpful; when I decided to stay for an extra the room was reserved immediately at the same price as my original stay. The only problem I had was that one of the mornings I was awoken very early by construction outside my window.

Although the situation of the hotel is excellent - very close to the Amfiteatro - we found it very overpriced for what it was. The breakfast had to be paid for separately, at at 11 euros each was not worth the money. On the whole we would not recommend this hotel.

This was the first time I stayed at Hotel La Luna. It would be rather far away from the train station to get there on foot. But it was very convienient to visit most part of the nice spots in the city.

Lulu was a great help in getting a dinner reservation and other hotel accomidations. The use of the internet was a great way to keep in touch with family. Did no eat breakfast there went out exploring instead. Bed was confortable and room was quiet.

We stayed 4 nights. No problems, all fairly good. A garage was available for the car (at 15Euros per night), which was essential in this town. We thought for the price that a simple breakfast could have been included.

People encharged of running the hotel at nights are not always nice. However, Lucca is a wonderful place!

Very well located, easy to access by car. Parking garage is insufficient. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Staff varied from very nice to almos rude depending on who was on the front desk.

Within September for professional reasons I will transfer me and my family to live in Lucca.For this reason, I decided to stay in Lucca for 2 days with my son (5 years old) and his baby sitter. I had the opportunity to stay in Luna hotel. Very good position. In the centre of the city, I rent the bikes and, in spite of the heat, we visit Lucca for 4 hours... Rooms clean and very quite, some little troubles to arrive by car to the hotel and to the garage ...but the employees are very kind to give you usefull information! ...so ...I can say that Luna hotel contributed succesfully to my decision to live in lucca in the next months (...years!)

La Luna is a lovely hotel set right in the heart of Lucca. The staff are both friendly and helpful. The main shopping street is just outside the hotel and there is so much to see and do. Plenty of places to eat, drink or have an icecream. Take a leisurely stroll round the town wall or you can hire a bike for 2.50euros an hour.Climb the Guinigi tower for stunning views. The hotel is a good 20 minutes from the station so if you have a suitcase, would suggest you get a taxi.Breakfast at 11 euros we thought to be rather steep for what it was.Would definitely go again.

Hotel ws well located close to several good restaurants and near the centres of activity. Walking distance from all within the city walls. Close to former Roman amphitheatre which had several bars and shops. Good opera and concerts in Lucca.

How to reach Hotel La Luna

By car

Enter into the city from Porta S. Maria, take the second street on your right, Via Fillungo; go ahead in this street and you will find on the left Corte Compagni (our address)

By train
Train Station: (almost 15 minutes) from the square in front of the station turn left in Viale Regina Margherita, and from the Piazzale Risorgimento turn right and enter from Porta San Pietro; go straight towards the Via S. Girolamo, pass Piazza del Giglio (close to the theatre); go straight in Via Beccheria; once you reach Piazza S. Michele (the church of S. Michele) turn right in Via Roma, then on to the left in Via Fillungo. Turn on the sixth street on the right in Corte Compagni.

By airplane
Pisa Airport "Galileo Galilei": (almost 30 minutes) follow the signs to the motorway A11 (Firenze-Mare), exit Lucca Est, follow the signs to the centre (centro), stay close to the city walls (on the right side), enter from Porta S. Maria, just inside tha gate turn right and you arrive in a very narrow street, Via della Cavallerizza, go straight until you reach in front of S. Frediano church (with the beautiful mosaics on the façade), turn left, cross the Piazza S. Frediano and you see Via Fillungo, turn right and our hotel is in the second small square on the left (Corte Compagni n° 12).

Florence Airport - A. Vespucci: follow signs to motorway A11 (Firenze-Mare), your exit is Lucca Est, follow directions as above (about Airport G. Galilei)

By public transportation
Bus: Bus Lazzi and/or Clap for Lucca (bus stop in Piazzale Verdi).

On foot, go trough Via S. Paolino until you reach Piazza S. Michele, cross the piazza, follow Via Roma until you find Via Fillungo on the left.
Turn on the sixth street on the right in Corte Compagni.
