Beatiful hotel. Perfect location with parking nearby (paid parking). Very kind and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. A bit expensive, but overall - very much recommended.

The cycling tour of the battlements is a must, count 10€ per bike for a couple of hours. From there you can plan what to visit in the town as you pass by. We recommend the gardens of the Palazzo Pfanner. Ice cream (Gelataria) on the via Venetto recommended by Alla Corte. Restaurant All'olivo was top class, found in the Michelin guide. Generally speaking, Lucca was our favoured city in Tuscany (with Siena), where we found hospitality, historic interest and cleanliness.

Centrally located, close to the monuments and main shopping streets, Access by car somewhat difficult, as everywhere in the centre of Lucca, but a parking area nearby with a control system. The rooms and lounge are decorated with an excellent taste (painted walls, old furnitures, oriental carpets). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is particularly abundant and with many different sorts of breads, sweets, fruits, cheeses, hams ..etc There is a lift and the bathrooms are well equipped. We have been there four times, last time for a week. A good stopover on the way to Rome and South Italy

My wife and I were thrilled with the entire experience. The staff was delightful and extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable; although we were there for eleven days, we hated to leave! Perfect location in town, delicious breakfast, and a beautiful facility -- especially the frescoes on the walls.

I could not praise this hotel enough. The staff were excellent; the room while small was much better than I expected for the price ;the breakfast the best I experienced on this trip to Italy; the location was perfect, central and right beside some important sights. I stayed for three days and I will stay here again on my next trip.

In the midst of the walled city of Lucca, within easy stroll of many restaurants, you will stay very comfortably here. Sightseeing is easily undertaken and the desk will give you frank advice about where to eat, though the exchange rate means that an English traveller, wishing to eat well, will not find it cheap. The Hotel is easily walkable from the station.

Having been to Lucca before we knew the area, but not the hotel, we wanted to stay for this trip. The charming room was as advertised. The breakfast was above average. The welcoming scent in the room was a little strong.

This is an elegant and very comfortable small hotel in a town that is packed with interesting and surprising things. Set in a quiet street very close to the anfiteatro it is an 18th century building which has been imaginatively restored so that each room has an individual name and an individual character. Mine was spacious, with a relaxing colour scheme and pretty frescoes. The public rooms are small but full of character and there is no restaurant but Lucca offers plenty of choice – many of them with the names of Puccini operas, since, as the town constantly reminds you, the composer was born here.

Stayed in Lucca for a few days to relax after excavating in southern Tuscany - this hotel was an excellent place to chill out, very central, gorgeous bathroom, really lovely, highly recommend it! Great breakfast, and centrally located for all of Lucca's sites.

A great location in this beautiful city with all sights and restaurants in a walkable distance. A vast selection at breakfast, internet available in the sitting area and a bright, large room with a comfortable bed and bathroom. Go to Lucca and stay at Alla Corte degli Angeli!!!!

A very well run hotel. Superbly decorated, well located (though hard to find). A lovely room, in fact luxurious room and a fantastic breakfast spread.

Lovely hotel, perfectly situated, rooms were wery nice. Helpfully staff. If I go back to Lucca I will moast definitly stay here again.

A wonderful hotel in a great situation, well worth the price

We arrived by train from Florence and had severe difficulties locating the hotel (our fault and our ignorance of the winding streets of Lucca). Memo to others: map-reading confuses the issue. Lucca is small, and the map deceives: street signs are not always apparent. Locate and follow the main fashion-shopping drag (from Piazza S. Giovanni north into Via Cenami and straight ahead into Via Filungo: when one passes the marker to the Piazza Anfiteatro, one is ten yards past the left turn for the hotel). Once at the hotel, enjoy. Quite frankly, if there is a greatly better small hotel anywhere, I'd like to hear about it. Lucca is compact enough to hit all the main sights in a day. Longer might be needed for a Puccini nut. Eat at Vecchia Trattoria Buralli in Piazza Sant'Agostino: unpretentious, even basic, but excellent food, magnificent English-fluent service, and a comprehensive wine-list. It's all of two minutes' walk from the hotel.

With Charme in the name, they really do live up to it! Everything was simply superb and we would highly recommend this hotel for a treat in Lucca.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was good, right in the heart of Lucca. Breakfast was very nice. Bathtub was wonderful, shower was very small. Great hotel, would recommend it and would stay there again.

This is a small, intimate and very lovely hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed and individual. The hotel epitomises of Lucca itself, low key but with the charm in the detail. We really enjoyed our stay and the location is excellent, right in the heart of Lucca.

This is a very pleasant hotel within the walls of Lucca. It is quite difficult locating, but is worth the effort. Each bedroom is unique and really unusual. We had beautifully artistic paintings on the walls of our bedroom with a flat screen TV also included. This hotel, while quite expensive, is worth the investment.

Great staff---absolutely beautiful, quaint, upscale rooms and hotel in general. Loved it! The breakfast were the best in Italy that we had!!! It's not easy driving around Lucca, but once you find the place, it's superb. Had a great dinner at Lucca, too!

Great location within Lucca's walls, rooms full of character, yet with wonderfully modern bathrooms. Would highly recommend.

We spent two weeks bouncing from town to town in Italy and Angeli Maison de Charme was by far the best hotel we stayed in. The rooms were very large, even by American standards, and the shower was actually good size as well (most of the showers were small closets that you couldn't even get to the bottom half of your leg!) The staff were polite and friendly. They seemed to be a family, and when you were staying at the hotel you were part of the family. Lucca is just a fantastic town and the location of the hotel was wonderfully placed. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

We recently stayed at the Angeli Maison de Charme and found the hotel and staff outstanding. The hotel is in the heart of the old town of Lucca, which is where you would want to stay when visiting the city. The rooms were good size, very clean and well kept. Very charming 4 star and well worth the money. Overall highly recommended.

Alla Corte degli Angeli Maison de Charme is a wonderful, quiet haven within the walls of the city. Great, central location. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful room, most friendly and accomodating staff. It will certainly be the hotel of choice upon our return.

Lovely little hotel in a perfect central location within Lucca's walls. We had a spacious room with original high oak-beamed ceiling. Superb bathroom. Very clean. No traffic noise and on a quiet side street, but there was audible (not loud) live music from a nearby restaurant on the Friday and Saturday night, which might annoy some people. Average 3 star breakfast. Quite pricey but worth it.

Very friendly welcome. Excellent location. Would definitely stay there again. Excellent jacuzzi bath!!
