We enjoyed our stay at La Solitude very much. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. When I requested a room change from the small room we were initially given, the desk clerk himself assisted with our move to a larger, more comfortable room with a nice view overlooking the river, town and hillside beyond. Location was excellent, making it an easy walk to the grottos, train station, and central city. The restaurant's food was also very good. We'll stay there again if we return to Lourdes.

Although we enjoyed our stay in Lourdes very much as we do every year, this is the first time we have stayed in the Solitude although the hotel is beautiful and close to the grotto for 98euros, per room, per night, I do feel the price is very extortinate and the room was very basic. I at least expected to have coffee and tea facilities in the room which should be included in the price. I have stayed in hotels that have been much cheaper than the solitude and the standard has been much better. The pool itself was quite dirty and the water in the pool was cold. However the staff were really helpful and the rest of the hotel was exptionally clean. Although we enjoyed our time in Lourdes I do not think we would return to the Solitude as the price is far too excessive for a very basic room with no coffe or tea facilities.

Hotel is ideally located for access to the sanctuary-about 3 minutes from St Joseph Gate. We had booked online and room package including key card was prepared and waiting when we arrived. Room with a small balcony overlooked the river. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Special kudos to the restaurant staff. We had booked only a room, not full or partial board. The evening we arrived, we thought to have dinner at the hotel restaurant for convenience. It was quite full but even after learning we had no reservations or full board, the person in charge (maitre'd??) found us a table and was most helpful and friendly. We went back there each evening and found the same helpful, friendly people. Food was fine and meals were reasonably priced. All in all it was a good experience, excellent value for money and we certainly would stay there again and will recommend to our friends.

Enormous complex in several connected buildings. Their strong advantages are the quietness of the rooms and the extreme proximity to the religious complexes which are the reason why people go to Lourdes. The organisation is especially tailored for groups and long-staying guests: don't expect to go down for breakfast and seat where you want: you will be driven to a given table which will be your table for all your staying there. However, don't worry if you are an isolated short-stayer: the staff is extremely kind (I underline "extremely": they are really supportive for any orientation problem)and they have the habit of dealing with unexperienced tourists.

Overall the hotel did what it said on the tin - great location, good room, lovely views to the mountains. We had a balcony overlooking the river, which was an unexpected bonus. Breakfasts were quite good as a one off but became a little dull - exactly the same each day - and were expensive for what they were. It would have been good to be offered some eggs, for example, at least once or twice each week. We had problems with the air conditioning in our room, with water leaking quite badly and the hotel was not able to resolve the problem whilst we were there. But the staff were generally friendly and helpful and we would certainly consider staying here again.

Hotel didn't have our booking (hotel fault not online firm). Rooms are tiny. Staff were a little disorganised, but friendly all the same. I think to be honest it's more indictative of Lourdes pack them in policy than of this particular hotel. PS if you do choose this hotel make sure you ask for the new part!!!

Some of the staff were very rude - I had to ask someone to come out of the back office to the reception desk because she wanted me to shout in from the foyer! She stood looking at me with her arms folded! We had 3 rooms in total and two of them were quite small. With three beds, we could have done with a bit more space! In our room, we could barely open the bathroom door. The rooms were very clean and the location is fantastic. The whole place could do with being brightened up a bit - the walls and the people, but all in all, it was good value for money.

The hotel is very difficult to find. It can be seen from a distance, but when you get close to the hotel the small sign is difficult to see. The entrance is actually up an alley between two shops. Otherwise the hotel is very good and well run

We reserved a romm with aircondition but when we checked in we were given a room without aircondition, and no advise was given until we went to the room and found out , finally a fan was sent to the room this is not good. other than that the hotel was very good. This hotel has many groups staying in.

The location was good and the hotel was clean, but over priced, and a bit misrepresented I thought. The people who stay there are from an assortment of places, and I found them all quite nice. Down stairs in the breakfast room,it was very confusing and frustrating! usually no one to greet you or seat you.I waited - always! I did not feel welcome except for one very nice waiter, who was wonderful, and I shall always remeber his kindness.I was not allowed to sit by the window, or anywhere I wanted to sit, others for some reason were allowed to do as they wished.I had to share all my meals with the same person every day, I did not know her, I couldn't understand what she said, she was odd. I would have had a much better experiance at the hotel, and to start every morning, had it been more pleasent for me!!!I think I shall stay some where else next time I go

Ottima posizione rispetto al santuario, garage gratuito (vantaggioso perche' in zona lo spazio auto e'veramente poco), camera piccola e mancava l'aria condizionata prevista in camera.
