Hotel Au Petit Languedoc - Lourdes

First time at the Au Petit Languedoc which is a small(er) family run 2 star hotel. The owners were really friendly and welcoming to us all including my 7 year old daughter but, other than the son (who isn't there all the time), speak very little English so at least some French is needed. The triple room we used for 8 days had little furniture other than the beds so we lived out of suitcases. Lots of dust under the beds but the room was otherwise clean although with no air conditioning it was often quite hot. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water and the shower went high enough for a 6'2" (1.88m) bloke to get under it. Breakfast was €7 each (not €6 as on the website) but this was pointed out on a notice in reception. The hotel served lunch and dinner as well but we didn't try them and there was no pressure to do so. A big but very friendly Alsatian dog called Urt stays in reception during the day but doesn't come to you unless you encourage it. The hotel closes for the night at 10.30pm but guests are given a front door key to let themselves in after that. In summary: it's a 2 star hotel so don't expect luxury but the hotel makes a great base if all you want is somewhere to sleep. The friendly, welcoming and helpful nature of the owners more than makes up for any shortcomings... providing you can communicate with them! Would I go back? - definitely.
