Hotel Solaire Los Angeles - Los Angeles

Its actually a glorified motel, reviews said it had a good breakfast, which was one reason to choose it - a good way to start the day. The breakfast consisted of fruit-loops, less than 100% fruit juice, and a tray of bagels and muffins (cut in half, for some strange reason). The room had a fridge, so I ended up just buying myself fruit and some healthy cereal. Very disappointed!! The shower was never more than luke-warm. The hotel's by-line is "Live Green". Ha!! Everything was disposable and wasteful, especially the breakfast, which was served with plastic knives and forks and paper plates. The area was actually not bad, I got to like it, reminded me iof Mexico City. But it claims to be a down-town hotel, and it is actually about a mile from down-town, in an area some might feel a little anxious about. The staff were super friendly, but I can't really recommend the hotel at all. Sorry!

Hotel was great but the sirens blowing from fire stations was annoying but in all travel to main down town LA , shoppping availabilty of things to do was great have pass hotel info to a few friends already and one couple will be booking in November for their trip to the USA in LA

Staff was accommodating, competent, and welcoming. Pool was wonderfully warm. Breakfast was very good---fruit, pastry, celery. Directv. Lovely plants/flowers. Surprisingly pleasant experience.

Great, I would do it again

The hotel was nice and recently refurbished. It was as nice as any Comfort Inn I've stayed at. The neighborhood is McArthur Park (a pretty low income neighborhood that was dangerous in the past). That being said, I felt totally safe. It is very close to downtown, just a couple minute drive. Walkable, yes, sketchy, yes. Its a great place to stay if you want to be near to downtown, and have no interest in spending time in neighborhood around the hotel.

There was a problem in the communication between venere.com and Comfort Inn. When I arrived at the hotel, my name was not on the reservation list. Fortunately, the manager was able to find out my information based on the confirmation number. It should be shameful to have this kind of bad communication.

internet did not work as announced pool was not heated as announced ice maker was not working- no ice anywhere public areas not clean room average for $120.00 small crowded depressing breakfast area

The maids couldn't speak english- we asked for 4 wash cloths and got 4 soaps and 0 wash cloths they were courteous though

I would recommend this hotel to my friends/family

you need more space at the parking lot there were too many cars. actually there was a car parked at the principal entrance of the rooms, we had a hard time trying to get the baggage in to the car.
