Cecil Hotel - Los Angeles

Amazingly authentic hotel yet surprisingly clean and well functioning in all aspects - even at this very low price level. I really enjoyed staying at the Cecil for 5 days during a conference. The positive lack of aircon allowed open window sleeping which added the acoustic atmosphere of downtown LA. I will gladly recommend the Cecil for everyone with even the slightest sense of proportion

Im trasvelling with my husbaqnd and son. We had a very bad experienced in this Hotel. I booked for two Queen size bed and I got 1 bed no shower room and toilet. For the prize I could get better for what they offer. I wouldnt recommend this bad Hotel.

There was NO HOT WATER!!! All I needed was a quiet room, comfortable bed, and HOT WATER. However, the shower was cold, and there was no point in even taking one with the water so cold. Very discouraging.

This hotel met all the requirements of one night downtown in a clean, cheap room. There were faults such as a dodgy key and phone and I found the checkin person not overly helpful or knowledgable about tourist info or even about the hotel. We were put in a queen room after double checking it was a twin but we couldn't be bothered asking for another room once we got there. The technician was very helpful with the key and the phone as were other staff. Perhaps she was a new staff member.

These guys wasted my time and money. I have ordered some goods through internet ($5000 worth of photo equipment) and arranged to pick up the package at hotel reception on arrival (Saturday). I'm from Europe, so it was the most convenient for me. I was supposed to leave on Sunday morning and start my American holidays. But the package wasn't there! I've spent there Saturday evening, whole Sunday and half of the Monday nervous, concerned about my goods, waiting for the manager. And on Monday they said it was "put somewhere else, and there it is". Not even an "I'm sorry", and I had to pay for Sunday night, even if it was their fault that I have stayed for another night. BTW, package was marked with my date of arrival. And they have shared bathrooms on top of that mess.

Good quality for the price but not such a great neighborhood. I felt safe in the hotel but did not go out in the evening. Also, great location if you need to be downtown L.A.

No parking space.(parking fee- $6.00 per day) I'll more charge $18.00(parking charge) Bad Hotel... Never use again.
