Winrose Hotel - London

The hotel is very clean. The guy at the reception was very nice, helped my carry my enormous bag. I reserved a single basic room but my door wouldn't lock so he gave me another room for three people with a bathroom at no extra charge! UK adapters and iron also available at no extra charge. There was no hot water the first day although I didn't complain, but the next day it was fine. Breakfast very good. Not very quiet, but no wonder considering the location. Internet a bit slow:-( Generally, great value for money and I would definitelly recomend it.

Room was small which was ok but up a narrow winding staircase two flights from wc. There were cabling works going on the entire stay which took over stairwells and corridors much of the time. No wireless in my room despite promises. Stay could have been improved with a decent pillow or two to make the uncomfortable bed at least bearable. Good breakfast, however, by the obliging manager.

Nice little hotel: clean, quiet, wifi that is working without problems, nice hotel surroundings. I like it!

The promotional information stated a quiet street whereas it was off a main street and was very noisy day and night. Proximity to shops and supermarkets was good but noise and sirens from emergency services seemed continuous. As a single traveller my room was suitable for my needs and the manager most helpful when I asked for information

Extremely small rooms (as is common in London), shared toilet and shower. The place was clean, the owner was a very decent, pleasant guy, the cooked breakfasts were good. The price at 55 pounds was cheep but the accommodation is very very basic.

Hotel was ok; but when I booked it wasn't clear that the room hadn't en-suite services. Finding a shared bathroom was quite a disappointment.

Very small and clean (really!!) room on the 3rd floor (bathroom on 2nd - very, very clean!!), with all facilities you need for a short stay. Perfect location; near to Edgeware Road / Oxford Street / Hyde Park / Paddington. I paid 55,00 GBP for 1 single room - I really have seen far more worse places than Winrose for far more money. Very good price / quality value. Breakfast was not included; I will try that out on my next stay, because I will definetly return. Did not meet any of the staff (just for check in, but that was okay, because everything was fine with the room - I did not need any staff).

Room was small, but what I expected. Stairs narrowed at up to the fourth landing. Be careful. Breakfast was good. Service was excellent. Near Paddington Station and Heathrow Express connection.

The hotel had a bad correspondence between price and services offered. The room for three was very small but that wasn't the problem, since we expected a similar situation. We were given only one towel per person and when I asked for a second one for my face I was reminded that I haven;t booked a five-star hotel...

Me and boyfriend loved our stay at the Winrose hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and new. We stayed the first night in a double room without ensuite because there were none available at our specific arrival date. After that we had a triple ensuite for three days. Both were very good. Service and hospitality is very good, breakfast simple and good. Location is perfect. Will definately stay again next time we go to London :)

The directions on how to get the Hotel could have been a bit more helpful. However the room was clean and warm. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly.

We stayed there just for a weekend but it was a great stay! The hotel is in a really central location, near the underground station and well served by buses (also in the night!); rooms are clean and people are friendly... I recommend Winrose Hotel!

Hotel manager was so helpful and kind. He evensuggested a taxi to Airport he could get us for 35pound as we had oversized luggage. Breakfast were great and good value and hotel close to Paddington station, tube and Oxford street. Hotel felt safe and room comfortable.

Good basic , clean hotel for the price . The owner did everything he could to make us feel welcome . Our room wasn't that big or quiet but i think that is just a London thing , and relatively speaking was ok in this respect . You get a hearty breakfast , that sets you up for a day sightseeing . Lastly , its handy for hyde park , oxford street and the tube. Would return .

Bestes Hotel in dieser Preiskategorie in London, in dem ich jemals gewesen bin. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Helle, freundliche, saubere Zimmer; exzellentes Frühstück. Sehr zentral gelegen.Wirklich nur zu empfehlen.

My stay at Winrose hotel was adventurous. When I came there, I got a double room (though I ordered a single room) and I was happy about it. On the second day, when I came back to my room and opened it with my key, there were two men there, saying they have checked in to my room. My clothes were moved by the staff to another room without even a notice to me and I still had keys from the other room! But I was really shocked that something like this may happen. I have travelled a lot and have never experienced anything like that. The receptionist was extremely aggressive saying that it was my fault that I ordered a single room but got a double room and I should have checked (I couldn't believe that!!). I didn't hear a single word of apology from her. The manager of the hotel helped out, apologizing for the inconvenience. But it really made a very bad impression on me. I understood that it is a common practice in this hotel to move people around from one room to another in this hotel. It is important to be prepared to it. If not this lousy service and rudeness of the receptionist, I would say that the hotel is really great in terms of cleanness, location and price. They serve breakfast (breakfast is included in the price). If you are not a sensitive person and don't care much about the service at the hotel, I will greatly recommend it. Underground is just in 5-minutes'walk.

The shared bathroom/shower was up a flight of stairs from my room and not very private. The shower cubicle had little room to manoeuvre. I would book an en-suite next time. Excellent breakfast with A1 service. Convenient position with easy access to mainline and underground stations. Very good for the weekend visitor.

Price excellent for London, which is really bad. This place is in a solid street of hotels a few blocks north of Hyde Park and of course you can get anywhere quick on the bus or tube. Spotlessly clean, either just renovated or excellent maintenance, good breakfast, fine attentive owner or manager. This is a small hotel with small rooms and a narrow staircase and is not for the Holiday Inn crowd.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We couldn't fault the cleanliness of our room - it was spotless. Breakfast was fine. Bit noisy in the morning as we were just opposite breakfast room. No de-caffeinated coffee in room which was a drawback for me as that's all I drink, apart from at breakfast, but I had taken some in case. We shall definitely go there again next time we stay in London. The people were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

Well designed hotel, extremely kind employees, rich continental breakfast, good location... Bus station in vicinity, the best choice for tourists to see London from the upper floor of double-deckers...

The room was good enough and clean enough, but they had no hot water! Apparently the system had broken down, but they did a poor job of managing the situation and obviously it left me with a fairly poor view of the hotel. Aside from that I found the hotel to be fair value for the price.

Ein sehr freundlicher Empfang in einem verkehrsgünstig gelegenem Hotel. Sehr gutes - englisches - Frühstück. Renovierte Zimmer mit Waschbecken. Preis / Leistung hat gepasst.

Very welcoming hotel. The proprietor was excellent ! Very helpful & courteous.Makes a huge change from the impersonal& robot type service in the budget hotel chains Great value for London in a very accessible part of London. Would recommend & stay trhere again. ! Weell done !

Excellent value for money - full english breakfast and clean room for £35 - can't beat it! Manager couldn't do enough to help and was very friendly.
