You get what you pay for... My single room was rather dingy and of course very small. The public areas are charmingly dusty (taxidermy, vintage luggage and riding boots...), but the room itself was poor. Unfortunately, it was also to the street-side and the window didn't give much isolation, plus you could hear the neighbor cleaning his nose and knew which TV-programm he's watching. Positive : location - near to the tube and in walking distance to Notting Hill.

I've been to London quite a few times, but this was the best hotel I've been at. While the narrow staircase (no lift) isn't the easiest to navigate with a suitcase, the well-kept, beautiful building as well as the clean room and well equipped bathroom make up for it. Generally speaking, most hotels and B+Bs I've been to have had the same kind of staircase and the rooms and bathrooms were never big. However, Vancouver Studios has that bit extra that most other accommodations are missing. Having a kitchen front with microwave and sink (china plates and cutlery provided) was a bonus and I was very pleasantly surprised by how clean and neat everything was. The location is perfect, just around the corner from Bayswater station, with ample choice of restaurants and supermarkets and well connected to all the sights. I'll definitely be back to stay again - the staff is friendly, reception open 24 hours and you can leave your luggage there, too, when you check out early.

A nice and very ccst-effective solution to visit London.I surely come back in the same place next my trip to London. The steep and narrow stairs are the only possible problem. But the politeness and courtesy of all the staff helps to forget this minor problem.

Absolutely wonderful facility- The rooms are small, but meticulously clean and well maintained. If you don't enjoy walking that extra step, there are 3 tube lines within 5-7 minutes. Location is great. Quiet residential, next to the parks.

Very comfortable and clean, although very small room and bathroom. Unfortunately some noise at early morning from upper floor and at night from hotel across the street. Very close to the city center (tube, buses) and many facilities nearby.

Very nice room, quiet and a bit small (but OK, it's in London after all), hotel was very convenient and in a nice area. Beautiful old building, nicely updated room. Staff was very warm and welcoming, and helpful. Kitchen facilities were fine. Lively shopping area nearby, short walk to tube stop. No lift, lots of steep stairs which wasn't a problem for us but could be for some people.

First room offered smelled badly of cigarette smoke. Given second single room which was very small but characterful. Generally quiet except for loud TV in reception office. High quality fixtures and fittings and decor both in room and in common areas. Excellent value and location.

I found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful when needed. My room was a single room and I found it spacious enough as you were only sleeping there - had a minor mishap with the shower screen and this was fixed that day. Vancouver Studios has a very peaceful atmosphere and having the garden was an added bonus as the weather was quite warm and this had a cooling effect at the end of a tiring day.

Clean accomodation with good transport links. The so called studios are tiny, but kitchen facilities are excellent. Close to Kensington Gardens. Save area, although it seems that only tourists are coming here, hardly a 'real' Londoner in sight.

For the low price paid (£69), once can't find many better hotels in London. Clean, modern (flat screen TV, DVD player, strong shower...) and perfectly situated near Queensway or Bayswater tube station, and the many and excellent restaurants in the surroundings.

Excellent! I loved my stay there! Studio flat was small, but this is to be expected in London. However, coming from America, I did not realize how small. I would recommend highly, and would love to come back! Employees were extremely hospitable!

Great rooms that would suit a wide variety of guests. Having your own mini-kitchen is really useful even if it is only for colling wine or buying your own breakfast things from the great shops around.

Excellent overall. Long, narrow flights of stairs to the top floors would make it difficult for elderly or infirm travellers, so be sure to enquire about availability on the ground floor. Free wireless internet connection was available in all areas, although signal was occasionally lost. Just a short walk to the Queensway and a plethora of dining options at various price points. Will look to stay again next time I am in London.

Nice and quiet neighbourhood, few mins from Bayswater tube station. Supermarkets/bars/rests/boots/shops are just 2 mins walk. Room is not a wow but with kicthenett - I saved a lot of Pounds for making dinner myself, especially when you have a long stay. Staff are nice too, I arrived very early in the raining cold morning (8:30am), and they're so kind to grant an early check-in at 10:00am. I felt warm right away. Just remind you that they dont have a lift and if you have heavy bags, better get a lower floor. Will come back.

The bed was extremely comfortable and I was thrilled that there were several extra large pillows. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hike up to the top floor was challenging but I knew about it when I booked so I was not surprised. (It was cheaper than using the gym down the street.) We were in the back so it was quiet. The kitchenette was perfect. We had breakfast every morning and routinely packed a picnic lunch. I'd rebook without hesitation.

Although stairs are terrific, it's worth the experience of staying at Vacouver Studios. Ask for a lower floor room if you can. (we were at 4th floor). Kichenette is wonderfull for a late breakfast or a quick lunch. Extremly clean rooms. Great "power shower". I'll surely come back.

I can not fault this establishment for the friendliness, cleanliness and efficiency. It is one of the few times, where I felt that the online description of the establishment was truly justified. The location is quiet, and not too far from Bayswater tube station, so accessibility is not a problem. There is a word of caution though... If you don't like climbing stairs, then ask for ground or first floor, as no lift seems to be available. I was on the third floor, and that was a struggle. I am glad I wasn't on the fourth floor!

We are a couple of Italian tourists and we stayed in Vancouver studio for 6 nights. Really a good price/quality ratio for London. The room is really clean and quiet. The hotel is placed in a beautiful and quiet street with victorian houses recently restored. The surroundings are safe during all the day and night (we went out in the evenings too). The room has its own kitchen perfectly clean and with all you need to cook. There is also an electric hot plate and not only the microwave! They clean the bathroom and change the towels every day. We are really satisfied of the place. We are sure we will return here every time we have to go to London.

We stayed for 5 nights in July 2005. We were a couple on holiday, and the location would have been ideal, given the proximity to multiple tube stations, except for the London bombings two weeks previously, and hence line closures. This meant a lot of walking and using the buses. I would be reluctant to call this a studio apartment. It was very small, but it was quite functional. The weather was cool and so we didn't have difficulties at night, but I can imagine the room would have been very stuffy during hotter nights as the window only opened slightly. We had a room on the ground floor. The internet is pricey here, go to Queensway for better prices. The room looked nothing like the photos on the net, sadly. Nevertheless it was not unpleasant, and suitable for our purposes.

We had a great stay, excellent service, beautiful area, especially facility's courtyard. The only problem, by no fault of the hotel, was the road work being done on the street directly in front of our window. It was exceptionally noisy beginning VERY early in the morning (5a.m.), and the dust and smell prevented us from being able to use our outdoor patio. Again, just bad timing.

Vancouver studios is in a wonderful location. It is near everything you need-the tube, park, mall, groceries, etc. It feels like a home with it's kitchenette, living room, etc. The rooms are very clean, although you do need to ask for fresh sheets occasionally. The male staff at the front desk were always a pleasure. The women could improve on social skills a bit. They weren't that friendly, but always accomidating. Overall, no complaints, and we will be back! Great value and quality. We were very happy.

Vancouver studio is ideally located. Within a few steps you'll find everything- restaurants, cafes, supermarkets. Tube stations (Bayswater or Queenway) and bus stops are within 5-7 minites walk. The room is a bit small, but very clean and neat. All staffs are very friendly, welcome me warmly. The building doesn't have lift and stairs are so narrow that hard to go up with laggage. If you have heavy and large laggage, please remember that you may lift up them by yourself to the 3rd floor.
