First, some positive things to say about the St Mark hotel: The beds were comfortable, the room was reasonably clean, and the location – close to restaurants, banks and transportation – was ideal. Now the bad: Generally, the front-desk staff seemed uniformly unhelpful, and utterly unconcerned about any issues brought to their attention. The room was extremely small, leaving barely enough legroom to get around the beds and ‘kitchenette’, and skimpy facilities to store luggage or to hang clothing. The bathroom was ill-lit under the best of circumstances, but the shaving light over the mirror did not work at all during our 3-day stay. A single unsuccessful repair attempt, initiated only after repeated complaints, had a repair person arriving at the room late on a Saturday evening. Wireless internet connectivity was sporadic at best in our room at the top of the building. Reliable internet access typically required sitting in the lobby – where only a hallway bench was available. Phone calls, even on an emergency basis, are not permitted on the hotel phone, so the only alternative for anyone without a working mobile phone is to find a public phone somewhere on the street. Be aware that cash-only, in advance, is the hotel policy. For those for whom the St Mark is their first stop in the UK, obtaining sufficient cash to be allowed access to one’s room might pose difficulties, depending on the time of arrival. We did not attempt the hotel breakfast, as we understood from other reviews it was meager and served in a tiny breakfast room. As we walked through the hotel neighborhood in search of an adequate breakfast, we saw a large number of potential hotel properties, one of which we will likely try to reserve on future visits to London. We will not stay at St Mark again.

A beautiful hotel, situated in a calm and comfortable zone for the connections with the subway. Suggestion for a trip of a few days to visit the city.

It was the first time we stayed at St. Mark Hotel and we are very satisfied; the relationship between price and quality is excellent and we has been able to visit London in a very comfortable way.

During my stay there were no problems. To be reported only the long stairs because I had the room in the top floor (the fifth!). This also cause that in top floor there isn't WiFi signal. But this hotel is a good value for money

We stayed two nights, the room was on the ground floor in the back so was clean and quiet. The staff members were always polite and helpful. The breakfast is adequate, but it is necessary to go early to avoid a crowd. We left for Ireland for two days and had reservations to come back for four more nights. We cancelled because the staff could not arrange for us to be in the same room all four nights, and we did not wish to be inconvenienced moving. Rooms located downstairs near the breakfast area are quite noisy in the morning. There is no lift and if you have a lot of luggage or can't climb stairs, you may have difficulty. There are two family rooms upstairs with balconies that are nice. Also if you don't mind the stairs there are nice rooms upstairs. Our room was very small, but clean, no AC, but we did not need it. The employees are very accommodating and if you request a quiet room or whatever your preference is they will try to give it to you. The hotel is near the tube, but we were much happier in the Westminster area and paid little more. It is necessary to ride the tube for 20 to 30 minutes depending where you come from.

We arrived early in the morning, before check in, but were allowed to place our luggage in the breakfast room. The clerk told us to be sure that we left no valuables. A friend and I reserved a room with a double bed because that was all that was available. When we went to check in I asked if they had any rooms available with separate beds. The front desk clerk said that he would take care of it. When we came back a few hours later to take out things to our room we opened to door to a triple room. I was only charged for a double so this was extremely convenient. The sheets were cling but the room felt used. Not in a bad way. We were perfectly comfortable for relaxing after a long day and sleeping. The area is very nice. It is quiet and not touristy. It is residential with many places to eat. The hotel is close to the underground. The breakfast was very basic: toast, cereal, milk, juice, and coffee but that is all we really needed. We were to leave at 3am in the morning to get to Victoria Station for our bus to the airport. The front desk clerk called a taxi for us. When we came down to wait he was on the phone checking to make sure the taxi arrived on time. He even went outside to watch for us so we didn't have to stand in the cold. We were very pleased with the service. I would definitely stay there again for my next stay in London.

Breakfast was served in very small room, so something people need to wait for seats. Although problems with bathroom (actually preventing the use of the bath) were discovered soon after my arrival, no attempt was made to fix this problem during the following ten (!) days of my stay: I was simply advised "take shower, not bath". I also shared my room with small mous, that was often seen on a floor or, when invisible, made a noise under the shelf.

I stayed here a night with my friend. It was a good experience, they had a nice, free breakfast. The room was quiet, and the staff was helpful. I'd stay here again.

There is a M&S Simply Food 100 metres from the hotel, in Earl's Court Road, and a microwave oven in the room to heat up your food, plus table and chairs. The tube station is very close and served by three lines. At the St. Mark hotel we met very quiet people, mostly families or middle aged couples.

I had to pay almost a quarter more because I thought to have booked a twin room. Our room had a problem not solved with the fridge and a light in toilet. We found the room extremelly small and with very few space to store our luggages. The location and quietness of the room saved the situation. What I have learnt is to book a room in a more expensive hotel.

The location is very good the room is too much small and the bathroom doesn't work well. In the room thre is not an adequate wardrobe so you can't stay there for a along time. the breakfast room (if you can call "breakfast room") contain just 6 tables and the spaces are rediculous. Now, I am waiting for some money debit me for a mistake but nothing happened. And 3% charge payment with credit card?

People need to wait in the steps for having breakfast (very small room for 18 people eating while 60 people in the hotel !). Dont't phone for me to the airport, neither help me, to reserve a shuttle and ask me one pound by mn, using the lobbie phone ! not enough on the bed so we were cold in the night, because of big slides (holes) in the windows) too small "draps" (what we put on the bed to sleep in), almost smaller than the bed ! the door near the bedroom making noise all the night, and the TV in the breakfast room (not pleasfull), near the bedrooms of our children. Oly one chair for a double-room : nothing to put our clothes !!!! and so on..... (too many things to make entire list ...)

My friend and I stayed at the St.Mark Hotel just for one night. We found that the location of the Hotel was quite convenient because is close to the tube station and that the room that we got was, although a bit small for two people, nice and clean. The bad side was that when we woke up in the morning the radiator wasn't working at all and that we had to queue to get into the dining room to get our breakfast! A part from that, I think the hotel is quite good for the price you pay it. I would suggest it for a short- term stay.
