Booked last minute this was the cheapest central hotel with ensuite facilities. I tried a handful over two weeks and this was by far the most comfortable in terms of cleanliness, bed comfort & location. Sussex Gardens is relatively quiet compared to Victoria or the terrible Kings Cross. Visitors can be sneaked in. This is a diamond in the very rough. Lovely receptionist.

Great location. My room was on the fourth floor and no elevator. I was travelling with 2 kids and so had to carry all the luggage up the very skinny spiral staircase. The guy at the front desk asked if I wanted a hand and even though I said yes he didn't help me. Room was very small (triple room) not really anywhere to put the luggage and wifi was useless. Breakfast was advertised as full English but was pretty poor, esp for a vegetarian.

People are very friendly. Hotel open 24h a day. Our room was a bit small (a 2 people room that became a 4 people room) but we didn't stay there (3 hours a night !!) so this is not important. We paid a reachable price too... Breakfast is good. Nice service and good quality. I endorse you Springfield!! Have a great time in London and don't forget visiting the Ministry of Sound!!!

I went to London for vacation. The hotel is about 300 m from Paddington Station which is great. I saved money in that I had to use no Taxis at any time. Rode the Heathrow Connect to and from LHR , SAFE , FAST, CHEAP. The hotel is older, there is no lift or AC, but it was clean and well-run for the most part. There was 1 clerk on night duty that was a moron and that caused some anxiety and trouble for me, but , overall it is a good value for $$. The breakfast was good and the sheets & towels were clean. It is in a safe area, close to the Bakerloo line. I would stay there again. I would say it is a good value for the money.

The location was perfect. Bus and tube just around the corner. 15 min. walk to Oxford street. Rooms were quite small but cosy. Could have wanted a litle bit more clanliness, expessialy under beds, but the rooms were as expected at this price.

Good value for money accomodation. Room small but sufficient for weekend break. Cooked Breakfast was small but adequate, cereal also available. Friendly front desk staff and breakfast staff. Good location within very easy reach of paddington buses/trains/underground. Couple of restaurants and general shops nearby. Short walk to Hyde Park. Within walking distance of Marble Arch. Compares well with others for same price in the area.

This hotel is in a row of hotels near paddington station. Location is excellent. The price is also hard to beat for a budget hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. Definitely recommend this place if you want to stay in a nice place and save you money for other activities.

You can't compare English hotels to Italian ones: it must be kept in mind! I chose this hotel because it was one of the cheapest still available. The position is very good. Breakfast ok. Cleaness so and so, but for 2 days it was enough! Welcoming not so...welcoming!

When we arrived, the young guy at the front desk acted as he was not happy working there. Our room was way up in the attic. With big suitcases, we had a very hard time climbing the stairs. The room window could not close nor lock. We depended on the window curtain to block the cold. The service guy said nobody would climb this high to steal because he could not fix it. He did fix the heater. The attic room was tiny so was the bathroom. It was noisy in the morning. The big noise was from the exhaust fan in the basement kitchen. The smell from the kitchen was even worse. The strong greasy bacon smell filled the room, I could hardly breathe. Not sure about other rooms. However, the hotel location is very close to the subway/tube station. The girl serving breakfast was quite nice. And the older gentleman at the front desk was helpful too. He booked a taxi for us to the airport at a fixed rate 25GBP.

I stayed there with a colleague; having booked a twin room we had the nice surprise to get a three beds room that was enough for one night. The bathroom is small indeed, but clean.Good breakfast. Location is very good: you can easily walk to Paddington train station

hotel is within walking distance of paddington station. our room was on the ground floor so was easily accessible. the lack of a lift to upper rooms could be a problem for some. the wonderful cook provided us with tea and toast even though we missed breakfast due to our ignorance of daylight saving.we would stay here again and will recommend the springfield to others.

Considering the hight hotel price of London, this might be normal. But with this price, I wanted a room with a bathtub. I have asked for a room with a bathtub but the hotel did not let me know that there were no rooms with bathtub.

I was really disappointed with the room. First of all, the welcome of the receptionist was really poor, no smile & not friendly. The housekeeping staffs were better. The room was far too small for 3 people. It faces out to the main road and it's summer, no air conditioner, it's was too hot that I had to open the window but then it gets really noisy. Horrible stay! 80 pounds was too expensive for this kind of room. The owner should do some renovation.
