Had a great stay, so good having a lift which is rare in this street! Liked the foyer area with bar and the room was clean, quiet and relatively spacious. The only downfall was the rather overly efficient girl on the desk who was very unfriendly and quite rude. Rather a shame as the rest of the place is great. I am sure she thinks she is doing a wonderful job and efficiency wise she probably is, however her people skills are appalling.

The rooms are average+. Clean, but not too spacious. Rates are ok, although there are much cheaper B&B in the area. Wouldn't chance it in the weekend though. Overall satisfied. Close to the station if you have to commute to Heathrow in the morning.

This hotel was a little below what I expected. The room was very small. It was also stuffy and hot and because it was on the 2nd floor, the window couldn't be left open at night because of street noise. The staff were friendly enough, but I'd be hard pressed to recommend the hotel to others. Also, there was a discrepancy between the price quoted on booking and the price the hotel wanted to charge me on checkout, although the hotel accepted the lower rate

This hotel has a very good situation, in a good and quiet area. Very well connected with underground, near Victoria Station and the bus connections. But the person who works there is very stupid. Don't speak other languages in order to receive the customers and it's very difficult that they said "Good morning or good afternoon" when we enter or left the hotel.

The room was the smallest I´ve ever seen in a hotel. Good tv, but no double glass in the window. Also the bathroom very small. English breakfast (we don´t eat so much) but no fruits, nor yoghurt.

A charming & modern hotel that really impressed me with the friendliness & competence of the staff. The rooms were impeccably decorated & very clean & fresh. With flat screen tv & internet access in every room, you don't need your laptop with you. The breakfast was really excellent & will set you up for the day, with a good choice of food. The dining room staff were trained very well & should be an example to the rest. I really couldn't have been happier & I'm normally quite a critical customer. If there was to be one flaw I would say that the beds could do with new mattresses. I could feel the springs. If you don't book here & you don't like much the hotel you eventually chose, you have only yourself to blame. This is a hotel quite apart from the rest, So do book.

This was a first stay in London for my boyfriend and I. We enjoyed it. It was really clean, which was a major plus for me. For a double size room, it was smaller than I expected. Despite the size, it was adequate for the purpose of having somewhere to sleep, shower and get a good breakfast before heading off for more site seeing. The English breakfast, which included eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, cereal, toast with butter or jam, juice, coffee and tea, was excellent. The location was very appropriate because it was within walking distance to the train and bus stations. The only thing I could possibly say as a negative point was that the bathroom vent still smelled like someone had smoked there. It was a non-smoking room but I think after years of allowing smoking, it is still in the vent system. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again.

A good opportunity to stay in the very heart of London for a relatively cheap (for London) price. The hotel is easily accessible from underground and by bus. We had a room in the basement of good size with, however small, our own bathroom. The room was clean except for the kettle. They served a traditional English breakfast (fried or scrumbled egg with sausage) which people from the continent may not like though.

We rented 3 double rooms, so I had the opportunity to note that the quality of the room may vary a lot. The room where I was staying, 506 on the top flour, was reasonably large and with a nice bathroom. I think it was recently renewed. The 2 other rooms, were pretty small and with plastic added bathrooms. Still reasonably clean thought.

Rooms were fine and clean and the staff were nice and helpfull. But the breakfast situation was terrible every day. There was far too little space and we had to wait outside in a horroble hallway/staircase 4 out of 5 ornings (we stayed at the hotel for two days but did simply not go the breakfast two of the days because of this. The "waitresses" stressed badly because of the waiting guests and something in the meal was allways missing, so you had to go several times to get just just one platefull. Moreover, the scrambled eggs and the sausages were of unspeakble bad quality (when you finally got some).

One of the best hotels in this area of London and for this price (69 pounds each night, june 2008). Excellent breakfast, though the breakfast room was very crowded and not very spacious. At the entrance there is the bus stop for line 24, which connects with Trafalgar and the Covent Garden area. I will definitely come back if the price doesn´t go higher.

Decent hotel a short walk away from the Victoria train station. Rooms were recently renovated and clean, though the bathrooms were pretty small. It looked and felt similar to an airplane or RV bathroom. Quiet, did not hear neighbors. Rooms had good amenities. Breakfast was included in room fee, and was delicious, though there was a line, because they seat you themselves and there were many people in the hotel. Get there early.

Family with 3 boys (11, 14 and 16 years old) for a 3 nights tourist stay in London, February 2006. Very convenient location, you can reach Victoria station in less than 15 minutes by step, and even Hyde Park, Buckingham, Westminster in less than a one hour walking tour.

The location was excellent very convenient to bus service and many attractions -- also good restaurants, laundries, groceries... The rooms were very small and cramped and the initial room very hot. In the first room, we had to move one of the beds to get into a tiny bathroom. There were no towel racks in the bathrooms so no place for wet towels. There was no hook on the bathroom door in the second room that we moved to so no place to hang clothing. Towel racks and hooks would be so easy to add. The second room we were in had a ceiling fan so the temperature was okay but the windows had to be open and it was noisy. The breakfast was good but on weekends, it was very crowded at the end of the breakfast period and difficult to get in -- perhaps should extend hours on weekends and holidays. The people at the desk were very helpful for the most part, but the response to the report of a broken elevator did not give me confidence that anything would be done about it. The elevator door closed with people standing in the doorway and did not retract as it should have -- very dangerous.

Buone vacanze!

After spending 2 weeks staying in rather sub-par 2 star hotels, the Hotel Sidney was a welcome break. A great little 3 star hotel located close to Victoria Station and great little restaurants. If you don't mind the walk, it is not far to London center and will save you the underground fare. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful and the inclusive english breakfast was great! I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to friends. Rooms are not huge but had enough space and a nice ceiling fan for the hotter days. No complaints. Also received a much better rate on Venere.com than if we had booked directly with the hotel.

With luggage, the hotel is 10-15 minute walk from Victoria on a street full of similar hotels. There are a few nice restaurantes and cafes nearby. Its a nice area. Hotel desk staff was not very helpful, they didn't seem to know the area. Nice lobby bar. We had a family sized room on the basemenet floor, with no AC and no lift from the Lobby. The room had an airplane sized bathroom, but it was clean. Breakfast was nice, but closes at 9:00 AM which seemed too early. London is expensive, so this was a decent value for the money.

We had 2 rooms for one night for my mother and I and my Aunt and Uncle to see some London sights before flt back to USA. The rooms appeared bright and newley refurbished as was the rest of the interior, the ensuite bath rooms were new, modular, functional but very tight fit. Hotel situated on a quiet side street within a mile of Victoria station. There was a local bus stop in front which was convenient for transport to victoria station. As it was Friday night I parked my car on the smaller side street loading the parking meter til 6PM then parked free till our dept Sat am. Nice cosy bar near reception, friendly helpful staff, even let me print out our airline boarding passes from the reception computer for free! Expensive by US standards especially with the historically poor exchange rate but quite reasonable for our purpose of a good nights sleep and a base to do some sightseeing from. We had a meal in the Churchill Pub opposite Victoria station which was surprisingly reasonably priced with bountiful fare. ALL in all good value for money and perfect for our short stay. (A bit hard to find initially due to some one way streets and most of the buildings being of a similar construction and look.) You probably wont be driving though!

This is an excellent choice for a budget hotel in London. It seems that the hotel has recently undergone renovations, because all the public spaces have a new and more modern feel than the website images suggest. Although the room was small (it is budget after all), the furniture was new and high-quality. Just be aware that the hotel is a bit of a hike to central London, so be prepared to use the underground. All in all, the staff was very friendly and the free full English breakfast made for an unbeatable package.

The room was small, as expected in London, and quiet which was a bonus. The hotel is a short walk (10 mins) from Victoria tube station. Pimlico is closer, but most often would have meant changing lines to get where I wanted to go. There was construction going on in the lobby while I was there, but that was only between 9 and 5, so it didn't inconvience me at all. The food was ok - pretty much the same as what I've had everywhere else in Britain. They had a selection of cereals along with the usual sausage, egg, bacon etc.

Siamo state in 5 in una stanza. Ci aspettavamo una stanza piccola invece c'era molto spazio e siamo state bene.

Ciao!

This hotel is a good value for the location and convenient for exploring central London. The staff were helpful and provided good service.

This hotel provided good value for money in a nice area of London. We were given a family room in the basement, which did suffer from overhead noise. There was damage to one of the walls, where a door handle had been slammed into it, which did not give a good impression. However, the room, was clean, spacious and comfortable. We would stay in the Sidney again, but it is not the hotel for you if you are looking for a luxury break. If you do stay in the Sidney try Grumbles restaurant near by, it is excellent.

Probably the most reasonable hotel bar prices in London can be found at Bar Dada. The bar's features include air conditioning, wooden floors, contemporary furnishings with leather and tapestry fabrics, multiple digital flat screen TVs, as well as a large plasma screen with all day coverage of current affairs, live news, sports, plus your favourite soaps! There is also a dedicated smoking area.
Bar Dada is an ideal meeting place before an evening’s
entertainment, and a relaxing haven after a hectic day’s sightseeing or business. You can enjoy unhurried ambience over a pre-theatre drink and bar snack, or perhaps a coffee and brandy after your meal.
