Shakespeare Hotel - London

Hotel staff was helpful but my rooms, I stayed two different times, were on the second floor (really third floor), no elevator, and no one helped carry bags. Second stay, room clean, but no working TV, showerhead broken and there was a missing light - all of which I reported to staff when I left. More like a hostel than hotel. Still okay for price and location terrific.

Front desk was helpful with the "lay of the land" and suggestions on tours, etc. Room was small for 4 people and the bathroom was tiny supplied with tiny bath towels.

We stayed here with two adults and our two teenagers. Location is great as it is only 2 minutes walk from the Tube. Brekkie is first class.Rooms were small and clean but well priced for tourists. We would recommend the Shakespeare to other families.

More or less "English Standard" but good location and if you do not expect to much it´s a good address to stay.

My room for the first night was very small and not attractive. On my way back through London, the room I received was nicer and included a shower. The breakfasts are very good. The location is excellent for travel to and from Heathrow or around London via the underground. The management was efficient. By Canadian standards and in Canadian dollars, the price was a bit high for the quality of the rooms, but London is quite expensive generally.

Good value for money hotel.I would recommend it to other people (as a matter of fact, I already did; see website www.virtualtourist.com/PeterHolland and then go to hoteltips!). As I stayed with children, who are not allowed in the pub, I would welcome if you would extend your facilities with a hotelbar
