The room is very small, tiny bathroom. The window of the room is old and lets a lot of air, and so the room is very cold and the small radiator is not able to heat it, also because it works only from 7 pm.

We used this hotel to visit London for a theatre visit and personal matters. The room was very comfortable although the heating was a little lacking and despite a complaint the bath never had a plug in it. Breakfast was lacking in choice but adequate.

The internet didn't work very well, and the staff didn't really care. The light on the toilet didn't work, after we asked for it to be fixed, it didn't work proberbly. The breakfast was good, good service

I have used Venere now for 3 European visits and have loved the service and quality of the site. Maybe I have been lucky picking, but this one was a dud. The room was tiny and had a fan but no a/c. Being on an upper floor this meant that the heat rose and if I opened the door for cross ventilation with the open window the heat came in to the room. Thankfully it was a cool night. The sink had no way to drain. The toilet was so close to the sink I had to turn at an angle and have my knees at the door. This was the last place I stayed during a week in England. The first place, Hotel London Guards, was the same price, much roomier and just a couple minutes more walking from Paddington station. I would stay at London Guards again but not at Queensway.

For the price and location, it is certainly affordable. Situated no more than a 5 minute walk from Paddington Tube and Rail station, it is easy to get to. Staff are friendly, approachable and welcoming. The room i stayed in was very good, tea and coffee facilities were a welcoming surprise. As i stayed in a single room, the bathroom wasn't too big. About 6 ft long and 2 1/2 wide (the toilet, sink and shower fit in this space). Other than that, a very good hotel indeed. Recommended.

This is an excellent budget hotel. The rooms are small, but they are exceptionally clean. The bathrooms are also small, but they are also clean and the water gets hot quickly. The service was very good -nice reception, responsive and helpful with questions about the area. And the continental breakfast was wonderful. This is a great value -I would absolutely stay here again.

Taking into consideration the type of accommodation one can find in central London at this price, I think this hotel is very good value for money. It's literally around the corner from Paddington. Staff friendly and helpful.Breakfast basic, but breakfast area clean. I booked a single room, but was upgraded to a double, which was relatively quiet. Room clean, but no remote control for the flat screen tv, which is quite irritating, especially after a long day. Tiny bathroom. Situted on a very nice and safe street. As a single woman coming back to the hotel late in the evening, I never felt uneasy.

Great location and friendly staff. But the breakfast closed too early (9.15 even on New Year's Day). The staff also switched off the heating for most of the day even though we were there in the middle of the winter. They were slow to change towels in the bathroom and the shower in our room splashed water all over the place.

Elevator stopped between floors so you had to lug suitcases either up or down a flight. The bathroom was teeny, tiny but clean. Towels left on floor were not replaced - had to call for clean ones. Walls in room were scuffed - could have used new paint. Very little space in room for suitcases & to get around the two single beds. Noisy street till after mid-night. Location is convenient to underground. Breakfast was adequate - service there was good.

Very good value for the money. As reflected from both the price and the hotel’s description, it’s not a luxurious hotel, but it’s a great hotel if you’re looking for a basic room in nice and clean surroundings without paying too much. Great location – 3-4 minutes walk to Paddington station (a good selection of restaurants, cafes, bars on the way there) and close to Hyde Park. Friendly staff. The room was quite small (but not claustrofobic), and was furnished with a big bed, a closet, TV and a desk. The bathroom was also quite small, but very nice and clean. The cleaning was very good both at arrival and during the stay. We didn’t hear any noise from outside or from other guests. I don’t understand why people complain about the breakfast. The hotel advertise with continental breakfast, and then you can’t expect a large buffet. You get coffee, tea, juice, yoghurt, croissant, toast and a selection of jam/marmelade, the breakfast staff are very nice and the surroundings are clean and hygenic. If you need a buffet or full english breakfast, there are many places close by the hotel which serve this.

Regarding services - The listed wifi access did not work at all within room. Only at times withing the lobby. The staff was not helpful and just made excuses. As having free wifi is becoming a very common guest requirement, this is not acceptable. It is a very small investment in wifi equipment for a small hotel, so no excuse not to have working very well throughout the hotel. Also, I requested if ice available and was told to go buy some down the street from a market. As the reservation included breakfast and they have kitchen area, seems unreasonable not to have ice machine available to guests.

In the plus site I must say the hotel has a great location - station is just 2 minutes away, hotel is located in a nice neighborhood - you can sleep with an open window because there in no noise, the staff is frendly, i have reserved twin room and when i arrived got a room for three person with no extra charging, they changed the towel every time when i put it on the floor in the bathroom, the room was clean. I was only disaponted on the breakfast offer. I maybe have expected more offer and the container cleanliness was very poor. Sugar bowl, plates on which the jam is, table cloths on the tables -it was unclean, they should take better care of the cleanliness in the dining room, because the cleanliness in room, bathroom, receptions is very good. But i do recommend this hotel, because in general it is a good hotel in great location and with nice and friendly staff.

My only comment would be that my single room was on the 4th floor and they only have a lift to the 3rd. This meant actually dragging my luggage up a number of steep and very narrow stairs to get them to my room. A room on the 4th floor would not be recommended for the elderly or infirm.

I'll start with the good. The sheets were clean, and it was a very easy walk to Paddington for the Heathrow Express. Now the bad. The elevator only worked for my first trip up to the fourth floor, but only to the third floor. The stairs to the 4th were nearly impossible to get up with any sizeable luggage. After that, the elevator was broken, so it was down and up and down four flights of stairs. The room was clean, but very small, including the bathroom. Water pressure was poor in the shower. Some neighbors came home around 3 am, drunk, and I heard every word of their conversation until they thankfully passed out. I guess all these Sussex Gardens places are like this -- and the Queensway may be better than most. You get what you pay for.

We stayed at the Queensway Hotel for a full 5 nights, which was at least 3 too many. The room was "decorated" in dark colors, and overlooked a tiny courtyard (more like a shaft). It had one window (which couldn´t lock) at the far end of the room, so only very little natural light could come in. The result was an extremely dark and drab room. More complaints: small bathroom without space to put toiletries, toothbrush and so on. Towels were not changed once during our whole stay. There seemed to be no cleaning during the stay -only the beds were made. At night there was a lot of noise from other guests. The safe in the closet didn´t work, and finally the breakfast was poor. All in all a hotel that we were glad to leave when the time finally came! One positive thing though - the location was good:close to buses and tube. And London is such a great city, so our trip was a success anyway, despite the stay at the Queensway...which will be the first and last!

I have stayed in other hotels in the area (good area for getting into London)and this was best so far especially for price. Good welcome at reception. Although early, room was ready and we could leave bags and head off. Good sized room for London standards, clean, and beds were comfortable. No view (back of hotel, ground floor) but not necessary since out of room most of the time. Really quiet. Would have liked a cooked breakfast but you can't have everything. Only complaint - the milk was 'long-life'. Yuk, I had yogurt on my muesli.

The hotel did not changed towels or linen during my stay ( 8 nights ) and one day my room was not serviced at all The room was on the 4th floor while the elevator reached the 3d floor so you had to climb with your luggage through very narrow stairs and it was very small.

Very nice and clean, completely redecorated/refurbished twin room (ground floor), good bathroom and quite spacious, especially for London standards. Only annoyance in the room: simple sheet and good new blanket, which however kept falling off the bed during the night. I think a hotel of that category should invest in some decent duvets. Professional but very reserved staff at reception (a smile wouldn't do any harm!). The staff in the breakfast room provided even more unfriendly service (they refused to toast my special glutenfree bread I had brought along, which I think is simply unacceptable in this day and age with so many people having special dietary needs!) All in all definitely recommendable if breakfast is not your focus. Much better than many a place I've seen in London!

I am a very frequent traveler, staying in London 2 nights a week in average in various hotels. This hotel is on the top of my list. Very few other accomodation offer a very clean, cable tv, internet free, good location stay in london for the price. Everything as described, no bad surprises. On the contrary, the room was very big, at least according to London standards. Bathroom very clean and with lots of space. You can tell that the hotel was recently renewed, as the paint job is still very neat. Short walk to two central tube stations and a plus: you have a large flat screen TV in the bedrrom. Could be a little cheaper, but it's well woth the price.

Overall the hotel was excellent and exactly what it said on the tin! Location was excellent, nice area, good transport on the doorstep.Reception staff also very helpful.Windows opened in the room and there was also an air conditioning unit which was ideal as it was very hot - I would not have expected this for the price we paid. Only a couple of criticisms: the bedsheets had small holes in them, looked as if they had been torn when cleaned. Also, there was a bit of traffic noise, but what disturbed sleep more was the fact that the staff from the hotels seemed to congregate outside very early in the morning on their breaks. The noise of their voices was quite loud and did disturb our sleep. Overall was very happy with the hotel and its location - definitely would stay there again.

The hotel is very basic. The rooms are super small but the bathrooms are tiny. We stayed there twice. The second time the room was terribly hot, but at our request, the receptionist, an extremely nice man from Egypt, provided us with a fan. Breakfast...it is England. Two toasts and jam served by an incredible rude lady. "Don't like it get out of the Army". The neighborhood is so so, but easy to reach. A friend of mine told me that the street was used by prostitutes and that explains the signs by the police warning motorist not to pull over. We didn't see any suspicious activity.

The twin bed room is not bad, they provide sufficient space for us also quite clean. Except for the glasses and spoons provided in the room, seems like unproperly clean. You still can see some trace of coffee or tea from the previous usage. The breakfast is also quite poor, they only serve bread and some sort of jams. The juice selections are also very poor with sour taste. The maid in the breakfast room is very rude in serving the guest. However, except for the breakfast things, everything else is not bad. The price is not that cheap, but what is cheap in London anyway.
