Park Lane Mews Hotel - London

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at the Park Lane Mews. We stayed two nights at the beginning of our holiday to Europe. The reception staff were slow and inefficient. The rooms were small, shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment. The beds needed to be replaced, they were very uncomfortable and sagging in the middle. The wallpaper in the rooms was old and peeling and the toilet failed to flush on most occasions. The directions for locating the property were very misleading. At $AU300 per night, this was the most expensive of the hotels we stayed in for our four week holiday and the only one I have had need to complain about. On our return from Europe we stayed another 3 nights in London at another hotel which was cheaper, easier to find, in a great location and refurbished.

The main advantage of this hotel- location. It's perfect. What I really did not like that I was asked to submit 200 pounds(deposit) at a time of check-in. I collected money when checking-out. In general I can recommend this hotel for stay.

I was totally satisfied. Employees were all very nice. I just want to recommend this hotel for whose who wants to stay any days in the center of London.

We have spent a week in the hotel, location is really perfect close to every place of interest, hotel is comfortable and nice, but be sure what kind of room you will be provided, the first room which wad given to us was very small an tiny, but later it was changed.

The location of this hotel is great - 10 minute walk to Picadilly Circus, 5 minutes to Buckingham Palace, and 2 minutes to Green Park tube stop. It's def a 3 star hotel - needs some new paint, but it was very clean and the room had everything I needed. The staff was bascially useless (didn't even bother to look up answers for questions they couldn't answer)and def not as welcoming as you'd get at a better hotel - no small talk, no help with bags, etc Still, I would stay here again as the location is perfect and the price (100 gbp) was about 1/2 compared to other hotels in the area.

The hotel's location is exellent. A lot of attractive places and sites are within walking distance, e.g. Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, the parks, Buckingham palace, Soho. Plus, the nearby Green Park tube station lets you easily reach the hotel from London City Airport (via DLR and Jubilee Line) and from Heathrow (directly via Picadilly Line). Our standard double room was very nice and cosy. Although not really spacious, there was room enough to place our baggage (two mid-size suitcases plus hand luggage) and a closet to put the jackets, shoes and shirts. The air conditioning was effective for heating (we stayed here in October) but not of the most quiet kind. Bright bath room with bathtub and water as hot as you desire. A real downer is a delivery, adjacent to the front side of the hotel, which was very noisy every morning with trucks arriving and roll pallets being moved. We would certainly return to this hotel but ask for a room towards the hotel's backyard for the sake of quiet early mornings.

While we received confirmation of our reservation from Venere.com, the hotel itself did not have our reservation. Fortunately, they were able to accomodate us so no harm done. It would have been upsetting had we not been able to get a room. Perhaps you can communicate this concern with the Hotel mgmt. The location was excellent for walking to Piccadilly Circus and the parks.

Rooms small but location..location..location..and the price is right for this area in London..everything accessible by either "day" bus pass or walking

Overall, at £88 for 1 night including breakfast, this offered great value for a very central hotel. The Hotel though,decor wise, is looking a bit tired.

Very small rooms but very cleen the location is the best 10 minutes walk from Picadily anf 3 minutes walk from hyde park corner & the marbel arch. very good money value!!!

While the rooms are small and there are no large common areas, it is clean, cozy and very conveniently located. It is a good location for business or pleasure being a short walk to the underground and down the street from Shepherds Market.
