When you arrive on a floor you still have to go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room - only suitable with trolleys but not with suitcase!! Centrally located. 5 minutes from underground station.

I DID ask a room for 2 (singles) NOT on the metro side. Got a room for 3 (so maybe smaller, because the other bed was temporaly) AND giving straight to the metro (n° 202). Do NOT pay WiFi if you wish to use in your room. Does NOT work, you have to go to the hall.

The hotel itself wsa ok, it was clean and tidy, and the staff made us feel welcome. But the room was ridiculously small to be called a triple room! For three grown up men (not gay!) to share a double sized bed and another single one squized in with no room to place your baggage, is not very pleasant. And besides that, the extra bed blocked the wardrobe, the doors could not be opened! The bathroom was not very large either. To use the toilet you had to sit sideways to be able to place your legs.

Quadruple room seemed to be a last-minute adaptation with no spaces between beds; e.g. the telephone was not connected and left on top of the wardrobe, probably due to the need to put extra beds in the space available. They asked to be paid for the whole period at the check-in; we have shortened our stay to only one night instead of the three planned. They don’t use face towels. Sheets were clean and ok. There was much conversation and noise outside the room until late night. Breakfast included in price but poor. Hotel surroundings are ok, but not great. Metro station is very close, however. Overpriced.

Our family of six booked two triple rooms. The rooms are so small that you can't lay all your luggages flat on the floor at one time. You have to juggle with space. The carpet felt filthy. There is no kleenex in our room, only one roll of tissue paper in the washroom. It was very noisy and hot in our room. There was no air conditioning. One afternoon we were taking a shower and there is no hot water. I think they tried to save money by not turning on the boiler during the day. Breakfast was okay. Location was great but I will not return to this hotel again. Maybe to another hotel on another street. The photo of a triple bedroom shown on website was deceiving as you have to pay more for that spacious triple room. Most of our activities are limited in our beds i.e. eating, packing, unpacking etc.

This hotel was everything it was advertised as being, and its location is amazing. Extremely close to the train station, making travel into the city easy, and very conveniently located near a small commercial area with restaurants and other necessary shops. Highly recommend to budget travelers and even those who aren't.

We were a family of five looking for one room together in a good area of London. We had a great time. Kids loved the room with its high ceilings and balcony.Room was clean with two double beds and a large pull out sofa bed. Bathroom clean if a little small but we all used it easily. Room was at the front of the building in quiet street just around the corner from Earl's court tube. Ideal situation for tourist weekend or for Earl's court exhibitions. We parked the car in the sister hotel's car park and staff were very obliging! Tho £20 for 24 hours. Don't forget the congestion charge if coming in on weekdays . This can be done over the internet before you travel - free at weekends. Breakfast was fine - buffet style though had to keep asking for milk for tea and cereal - would be better if it was out to help yourself- this is our only complaint! Would recommend the little Italian restaurant (Take a right out of hotel and first left onto the high street 5 min walk) think it's called 'Benittos' who were great with the kids - very welcoming! Also we were able to walk 20 mins to the natural History Museum and V&A. Good location and would definitely stay again!

Finding a room to fit two adults and three children is always tricky, the hotel room was a bit squashed with two doubles and a bed setee, but was more than adequate for our stay-the room and bedding/towels were clean as was the bathroom. The hotel is close to the tube, and very convenient for getting around London The only let down was the breakfast, which was limited

I was very disappointed of that hotel. They made me to pay the full bill for all four days just at the very moment of arrival, telling me that this was what is was done in all 3-star hotels, which is simply a lie. Hotel personnel tried to enter my room twice during my stay (when I was there) and they also removed my plug adapters twice. The milk for the coffee at the room was two months out of preferred consumption date. Breakfast was also very poor and you are never saluted nor asked anything by the staff... On the good side the rooms are really clean. I think this is an overpriced hotel. For the same price range you can find more professionally managed hotels in the surroundings (or anywhere in London).

This is a typical London hotel: small rooms, noisy, weary. The 2 rooms we saw had a small 2 person bed and 1 single bed. If you are a (happy) couple you will need to sleep in a hard and small double bed, and the few remaining space is taken in by the other bed. Rooms at the back of the hotel are situated next to (overground) Earls Court station. The insulation is bad so you will definitely hear tube trains. Breakfast - though not English - is the least worst part of this accommodation. Far too expensive compared to the offered quality.

I promise you I'll be there everytime I'll go to London! very good Hotel and... The worst I'm Italian client in the world... after Swiss of course! Provatelo!

A five bedroom was booked. A four bedroom with an additional camp bed was offered for the same price (170GBP). Therefore there wasn't any space left to move around or to store your personal belongings. All facilities (towls etc.) were only provided for four persons. The rear side of the hotel faces directly Earls Court Station. Since the district line is not "underground", it is very noisy. The breakfast quality was very poor, even for a continental breakfast. The restaurant service personal were keen to be helpful. However, since their English language skills were limited, the communication was difficult. The receptionists were friendly and competent. Since the hotel offers rooms with four and five beds, it was booked mainly by families with several children. However, the rooms are too small for that purpose so that the stay was stressful. The hotel is overpriced even when taken the London price level into consideration.

I spent one night only at Lord Kensington but I recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a great price/quality hotel in London. The location is great (3 min walk from the tube), the price reasonable and my room (number 601) very good for this category. Very nice helpful staff. Good location close to metro, grocery stores around corner. WI-FI available. Negatives - very small rooms, breakfast limited but satisfying, horrible toilets. We had to add water to our toilets to make them flush. Even though the staff was wonderful I don't know if I'd stay here again just because of the toilet issues. The rooms were noisy due to the street noise from one of our rooms - we had two rooms as there were 5 of us traveling together - and the train noise from the other. However the trains do stop running at midnight but do start early in the morning. But it was a very good enjoyable stay - very clean and pleasant hotel.

We stayed in a 5 person room. The linen was clean, and the shower room, although tiny, was clean and had a good shower. The floor was not very clean. The furniture was really shoehorned in, and rather worn. The room backed onto the tubeline, but was very quiet considering we were in central London, and felt very secure. The breakfast was minimal and the breakfast room insufficient for the number of guests. Overall, the hotel could be recommended as a cheap option for a family, run by friendly and courteous people. But only stay here if you are prepared to have a very basic room and very basic service.

I needed to spent just one night in London and my habitual hotel in this area couldn't offer me such an opportunity. That was the reason I chose to stay in LK. It came as a surprise that I had to pay additional something more than 2 GBP to my booking price as a handling charge. Then I was asked to fill in a guest form where there were questions about my credit card including security number. This number is used only in Internet transactions and therefore I could hardly find a reason for writing it down. Honestly he didn't insist on filling in this part of the form but I became suspicious anyway. He also didn't tell me anything about breakfast timing but it was said in the booking reference that the breakfast was included in the price. As far as I had no time for breakfast I didn't tried to ask about it. In other respects the service was good and the staff was nice and friendly. My room was quite small but clean and it overlooked the street, so there was practically no noise from the tube on the other side of the building. The bed was comfy and the sheets were quite clean. The shower was good also but you have to bear in mind that it is situated right in the room and is enclosed but without top cover. Unfortunately my room had no loo, which was situated on the floor. I was told that I would be the only guest to use it but to my mind it could hardly be so. Overall I think this hotel is a bit overpriced but rather clean and comfy. The location is very nice with lots of cafes, restaurants, pubs and a supermarket in the surroundings. It is also quite convenient to explore the city from this hotel: you can get to Earl's Court Station (Piccadilly and District lines) in no more than 5 minutes. The service was OK with the exception of these things about credit card and extra pay as a handling charge. I doubt it corresponds with its tree star rating. I'd rather consider it a good two star hotel.

This hotel had humourusly small rooms. The room was not much larger than the 3 single beds crammed in it. Our other complaint was that it basically sat right over the tube station, which meant all night you would hear the train noise (we had the window open since there was no a/c). Other than that the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy, and the room was very clean. Also the location was great, just a 1 min. walk to the tube station and pubs and resturants. Not bad, but probably would spend a bit more money to find a larger room not directly over a tube station.

My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for a concert at Earl's Court. We got a late start on the booking, so this was one of the only places available. The place was what it was...A 3-star hotel, that was close to where we needed it to be, that had a double bed (Not sure how the rating system works in Europe, but that's a different story). The Lord Kensigton Hotel is a place to stay: definitely to be recommanded to friends!!!! We were 5 very good friends in one bedroom! the price was quite good regarding the fact we were in one of the most expensive city in Europe! and we had a great weekend! very nice hotel, very nice bed: very very comfortable! and the persons at the check-in desk were definitely very nice people: very sympathic and you could rely on their advices! however, I have to admit one thing: the breakfast was quite disappointing: we missed bacon and sausages!!! plus the persons in charge of the breakfast buffet weren't that nice....but still: we had a wonderful time in this hotel, it is definitely well located, close to the underground station, close to good restaurants and bars. if one of us goes back to London, I am sure he or she will go back to this hotel!

This hotel is made by it's staff who were very helpful to me. Taking the staff out of it the place is in need of definite refurbishment, I didn't feel comfortable walking on the carpet in my bare feet for example, the bed was pretty old and the bathroom tiny. Management was very good. Best rooms are on the street side of the building. Unfortunately, we were in a basement room (801) and it was on the station side of the hotel. The room got very warm and we had to open a door that led to the outside area of the property. Not the safest way to spend a weekend, leaving a door wide open while we slept but it worked out okay. Next time, we will demand an upstairs room. Nice shower, good breakfast, small rooms but clean and friendly. Stay out of the basement room.

My wife and two older children stayed in their only quad room - a family room. It was located on the ground floor. For London, the price vs. quality was good. The neighborhood (Earl's Court) was very enjoyable with many varied and convenient services -- large number of restaurants, cafe's, laundries, internet cafes, food stores, etc. The Earl's Court tube stop was right around the corner. The included wireless internet did not always work, but was available most of the time. The breakfast room was clean and the food was basic but appreciated. The property seems well maintained with some extra care & the staff were generally quite friendly and helpful. The included fan was very much appreciated and a thoughtful touch. I would stay here again.

We got a room on the backside of the hotel, looking over the tube lines which are outdoors at Earl's Court. It was therefore very noisy, not only during daytime, but also at night since they were repairing and digging at the station when the trains had stopped for the night. Ask for a room on the front and you should be fine in this hotel. All the other things were OK.

To say my room was small was an understatement but it was very well cleaned and one of the desk people were extremely helpful. It isn't too far from the metro, though the internet map is wrong, there are some cheaper hotels down the street, but who knows how clean those were. It was on the border of zone 1 and 2 so you could get a zone 1 day pass and spend less to see the major things of London.

Colazione 'basic'. Accoglienza buona. hotel senza troppe pretese.

It became clear to us rather quickly that trying to find a hotel in London through he Internet is not so trivial. You find a description of the hotel/room and think you found something until you read the reviews!! What made us choose the Lord Kensington was the fact that we could only find rather good or excellent reviews! We were almost wondering if it was possible! But we can indeed say that we were not disappointed. The room was not very spacious, but sufficiently large. It was clean and modern and so was the bathroom. The employees were friendly, but also professional and really helpful. I was expecting to have access to the Internet, but somehow the service was not available - but we found an Internet café just around the corner. One remark would go to the breakfast - slightly meagre and over at 9:00 sharp (on weekdays) - it was not popular to show up at 8:55! and by then, most baskets were empty or almost empty! Lord Kensington is perhaps not the cheapest hotel in the area, but I stayed at another hotel earlier the same week which was far more expensive and not at all better. So, I feel that the rates were quite reasonable. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Very good location. a real bargain 'cause the very high wuality/price ratio. We had a discount of 20 pounds, and we were very happy of it :) This hote is not VERY clean, but I can't say it is dirty. Just a step below the maximum grade for the category for cleaniness. Some doubts for breakfast quantity, but we were out of time. Recommended!

Would we stay here again? Absolutely Yes! 4 minute walk from Earl's Court Tube Station. Only had 1 night to explore London, and made Selfridges (wicked department store) our destination, even dinner & a bottle of wine. Helpful staff (wakeup call the next am, and directions to Selfridges. Close to shops water, wine, coffee, etc...We will come back to London, and Lord Kensington.

A clean, well-appointed, small room for 3. Excellent breakfast and very competent employees. A good spot to sty in London - handy to buses and the Tube, and with grocery stores, PO etc very close by.

We were looking for a cheap clean place to stay, not too far for central London, and Lord Kensington turned out to be an excellent choice, although the bath rooms were extremely tiny.

The hotel room was smaller than advertised but the facilities were good. Without A/C, it go a bit warm on some summer nights. The shower was fine but the sink was pretty small (difficult to wash one's face). The breakfast was the best part and was quiet a treat compared to other hotels in europe. The area is nice and not too loud.

Though it is very close to the underground station, it is very noisy everyday till mid-night if your room is facing the station. It is very hot in the room in the summer since it has NO fan whatsoever- this time was the heat wave in June when we were there. Room is very small, but the continental breakfast was ok.

The room was so small you couldn't really move around. Our room was right next to the Underground (literally), so from 5am-midnight the trains were constantly going by. Also, the beds were the most uncomfortable that I have ever slept on. The springs dug into my back/arm due to the flimsy matress. Breakfast was good (continental), and the location was great. Not sure if we could have found a hotel that was in this price range that would have been better. It was clean, too. Just small and uncomfortable.

Pleasant, clean hotel, short walk from tube station. Our room for four was in the basement, but actually very quiet and light. It looked onto tube line embankment, you could hear the tube running but it wasn't an intrusive noise, could be offputting for very light sleepers. My only concern was the windows had no double glazing or window locks and seemed vunerable, we just made sure nothing of value was left in the room and everything was out of sight. Staff very friendly and efficient, good selection for continental buffet breakfast.

The hotel is very beautiful, the rooms aren't large but very clean! The location of the building is perfect for a peaceful holyday and the hotel is close to Underground station of Earl's Court (Piccadilly and District Line). Finally, I advice you this hotel because it's difficult to find in London an hotel so clean and not expensive!

We stayed in a quad room. The room was located in the basement but there were windows at the top of a wall and you can see the backyard. The room and toilet were clean. I believe it has been renovated The breakfast included was so so. The location is excellent (1 min walk to Earls Court tube station) and allow easy access to other places but you would expect tube service delay often in London. Having said that it only took 45 mins to Heathrow airport.

Location is (almost) everything! Newly renovated the hotel is well worth a stay. The rooms are a bit small, but hey, this is London-Kensington. The blue light illuminating the hotel front at night looks nice from the outside but can be rather intimidating from the inside - because its very bright even if you closed the curtains.

When arriving late in Monday evening the room for three reserved by us was not available, so they put us (mother and two daughters aged 23 and 18) in a tiny little room with a double bed and an extra bed in front of the window. The beds almost hindered the opening of the bathroom door and totally hindered us from using the closet for the clothes. There was no space for our luggage since the beds filled the room! They wanted us to pay for the room when arriving (that is before seeing the room)so we had no chance of leaving after we had found out that the room was not what expected! They promised us that we would get a room for three on Wednesday morning. Tuesday evening we checked the receptionest that we could transfer our luggage to the bigger room after breakfast Wednesday morning. We got the keys and carried out laggage from the 3. floor to the ground floor in the morning. When entering the new room a naked woman was just coming out of the shower in that room!!!! The earlier guests had not yet left the room and there we stood by the doorway with our luggage and she tried to cover herself by her towels! When we returned to the reception they told us that we may not take the luggage back to our earlier room but we have to take our luggage in the basement to the breakfast room which was not locked and leave them there untill the new room will be ready! We got no compensation for the money even though we spent the two first night in a double room rather than the room for three that we had payed for. No apologies were offered for our inconvenience. The lift was out of function most of the time. The towels (only one large towel per person, no face or hand towels) were changed daily but there is need for a better laundry - towels were not clean. The blankets were covered with stains even though the linen were rather clean. The staff in the breakfast room had problems in making enough coffee for the guests - they only had one coffee maker and every morning so

This is not a bad hotel. The point is that you are paying more than 90 euros per night for a small room with small bathroom. The location is ok as you are in zone 1 and you can get underground and bus easily. Breakfast was included and althought it was very simple, at least it was free. Summarizing, very simple hotel, small rooms which can be at the basement if you don't complain. In Spain it will get one star as maximum, but in London it has 3!!!. Definitively, although employees were very nice, relationship between price and quality is not very good.

Surely a three star hotel can do better than this. Maybe this is what you get for £60 a night in London but our cramped room and perfunctory cleaning cast serious doubts on the hotel's claims to provide luxury accommodation.

We were supposed to have one large suite for the family, but ended up (for the first two days) in two separate rooms, on two different floors. We had a small fan available in one room, but it was beastly hot and humid in the other (hotter inside than outside). Other than this, the place was nice.
