the hotel is situated closed to Paddington Railway Station (walking distance 5 min) and in front of Hyde Park. There are buses close (1-2 min walking), the breakfast is nice, the room is spacious (for the european standards). The reception desk helps the clients with useful information and the wifi internet works properly.

Location is excellent, easy walk to Oxford St and literally across the road from Hyde park. Very pleasant terrace was an unexpected bonus. Foreign staff were excellent, Brits seemed to hang around smoking when there was plenty to do. Breakfast service is shambolic. Don't come here for luxury! Come here for location at a very reasonable price. All in all, worth the money. Oh, one more thing, the lift is VERY slow, probably not the place for the elderly, you will need to use the stairs or be VERY patient.

We stayed at the London Elizabeth for a week in March 2010. Although the rooms needed a little sprucing up (new paint, fresh wallpaper would help), they were spacious, elegant, and the beds were very comfortable. The desk staff was always helpful and the free breakfast was nice. The location was excellent, across from a tube stop and next to the Hyde Park area.

Good, english stay,in front of Hyde Park. Underground station and 24 hours bus stop in front of the hotel. You can go everywhere from here in a little time. The only complaint is about the noise of the room, you can't sleep very well if you are used to sleep in a darken and noiseless room. Third bed was a real third bed.

The London Hotel was perfect for our 1 night stay in London. All 4 of us could stay in one room, each with our own bed, for a very affordable price. It had everything we needed including a nice continental breakfast that morning and luggage storage. Plus it was in a perfect location. Only about a 7 minute walk from Paddington Train Station, across the street from Hyde Park and around the corner from the Lancaster Gate tube station we couldn't have asked for a better stay for the price we payed. Would highly recommend.

We had booked a family room with 4 single beds and that is what we had. A reasonable size room with a generous bath, well heated. Car parking was behind the hotel and offerred at 10 pounds in their small private parking area (very helpful!) Nice breakfast (we just did the continental brkfast as it was quite ample) and served in a nice dining room. Good location for us to access the US embassy (and only a 5 pound cab fare). I think good value for London, attentive and helpful staff. Will stay again.

I travelled to London with my sister, my 12 year old daughter her friend and the friends mother. We arrived on a freezing friday night at 9pm and received a very warm welcome, we were really pleased with our quad room which was very comfortable and really warm. Our receptionist recommended an italian restaurant which was really good. We had a few drinks back at the hotel, met some brilliant people including a Jessica Simpson lookalike (the real Jessica couldn't drink that much tho) and had a brilliant evening. Breakfast next morning was delicious and set us up for a day of sightseeing. The two main tourist bus companies were available outside the door. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but spoke to some guests who did and were delighted with the food and the price. Before our departure on Sunday, the staff looked after our luggage while we spent our last day in the city. I would really recommend the Hotel London Elizabeth to anyone visiting London, its very homely, just don't get in the lift if you suffer from claustraphobia. I'll be back.

The room we stayed in at the London Elizabeth was more befitting a tired 2-star than a 3-star hotel. Almost every piece of wood had a chip out of it and every piece of wallpaper had a tear. Having said that, the bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast room looks nicer in the photo's than in reality; watch the wobbly tables, for instance! The staff were polite and efficient. One curious thing they did upon check-in was to pre-authorise my credit card. What this meant was that, although we had a total amount for our stay, they charged my card £25 more than that. Upon querying this I was told that it was simply to ensure that I could pay for my stay (the addition was for any ill-advised mini bar raids). Since returning from our trip and looking at my credit card statement the amount in question was debited and credited back within seconds of one another. Curious, but nothing underhand. To sum up our stay at the Hotel London Elizabeth, I would say that it was overpriced for the quality of the decor, etc. I therefore wouldn't recommend it to my friends but perhaps I would to my mother-in-law. ;)

Hotel location just next to Hyde Park as well as the tube station is excellent, especially for those who want to go sightseeing. Our room was rather small and old, but very clean, maintained every day. Wifi connection (included in price) was operating at good service, but access rights expired every night at 2300. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The hotel had its own "romantic" athmosphere. A breakfast was rather poor, but one could choose an English boiled breakfast for a small fee of 4 GBP. The lift in the hotel was very small - assigned for 3 persons which was very optimistic. Generally speaking, nothing to complain about, but comparing with other countries the price was relatively high, even although it was a "low cost" hotel.

One computer available in a lounge with internet access free. Fireplace in the lobby. Breakfast is included (buffet) but not extraordinary. It does the job. The closest to Hyde Park and to tube. I traveled from paris with my family (my wife and 2 kids) and we have had a very nice stay at the london elizabeth hotel. Good quality of service, and good location for what we wanted to do (on hyde park and close to the heart of london). Many buses + lancaster gate subway station (central line) The only problem was the noisy room we got : above the crossroad + neighbours. The hotel is a bit old, furniture especially, and the lift is very narrow and slow. But the personel tries to make you forget these bad points though: the employees are very nice and dedicated to your needs.

London is not a cheap city. And this hotel confirm this theory. But it is at 10mt from the Lancaster Gate underground station. And at 20Mt from one of the most important Hyde park access. Lancaster gate is in the center of london, at only 1 metro station (central line) from Oxford Street. The Hotel is clean and rooms very large. But breakfast is not special and price very very hight (150 Euro/night for a double room). Internet Access is completly free and WIFI working on every room (ask for the password at reception). Rooms are not perfectly the same as shown on pictures, but they are very very similar. So, if you are searching for a decent hotel in a fantastic and logistic place, this is the hotel for you.

Acceptable for a stay close to HydePark and not too far away from the center of town. A little too expensive, though - I would always suggest someting a little cheaper and a little bit further away (like in Notting Hill). Breakfast is poor and you really have to whatch out that you don't get a room facing the street. In the first night we had such a room (a bus stop in front of our window) and we could not sleep longer than abot 10 times 10 minutes ;-) Overall not a bad place but certainly nothing I would suggest to a friend or I would stay at a second time... !!!

We had an excellent stay at London Elizabeth. The location is ideal, a few steps from the bus and Metro. I would definitely stay there again. The rooms were nice. The breakfast was fine. We had the European style included in the rate. Hot breakfast was ~4pounds extra. My teenage daughter loved the croissants, muffins, yogurt of the European Style Breakfast. They had free wireless internet which was convenient. It was not always working through the entire stay, but it was pretty reliable. The staff were very helpful, although not all information was adequate. Many things were closed on New Year's Day and we actually were easily able to get tickets for an exhibition at the British Museum, both things were contray to information from staff, but they tried to be helpful and some things just warrant checking on your own. Also we needed an extra bed for a guest during our visit. We found out that "cot" means "crib"...so don't get confused by that.

Excellent service from the receptionists. Nice and comfortable hotel as british hotels go. It was old and showing, but the rooms were clean and tidy. The bathroom solution could have been better, but also this was at all times nice and clean. WiFi Access as promised. The closeness to Hyde Park, the Underground, buses etc. made it very good. The only major let down was that there is only a single layer of glass towards the street, making the noise from outside quite noticable. A double layer would have made it a lot quieter. So if you sleep lightly this is not the hotel for you. I have been told they have rooms towards the back garden which are supposed to be nice and quiet, but I was not able to obtain one. PS the elevator is very small and not for claustrophobic people.

The room was quite noisy as it is facing to a busy road thus might be though during hot summer with open window. As it was not as hot as I require opening the window when I stayed there, it did not disturb me so much to sleep. The room was very small. The room was just full with 4 single beds placed just like a puzzle. However, acceptable when compare to the price I paid especially in London. This hotel is very conveniently located to Paddington Station - about a 10 minute (safe) walk. Because of this, it makes it attractive to stay here after taking the train in from the Airport. It is across the street from a Tube station that is reasonably close to where I go (Bond St., Oxford Circus, etc.), so it's quite quick to get where I want to go in the morning. The bed was a _little_ tired / standard. The desk space was adequate for a business user to do their work. The bathroom sink counter was showing some age. But the rest of the fixtures were high quality. The free-standing closet and drawer furniture were perfectly adequate for several days' stay, and was big enough to handle luggage storage.. Most important to me, the wireless Internet worked flawlessly - which was the only place in the 3-country trip I did (this time) that did so. And, it was free (built into the room cost.) One note: The lift (elevator) is terribly small. One person plus a rolling suitcase will fill the small compartment. If 2 people are travelling, plan on riding up separately. This is definitely a place I'll stay again.

This is a good location in London. We had been warned that it might be noisey, but our rooms were very quiet. There is a lovely rose garden with lots of seats and umbrellas. Nice breakfast room with a large variety.

The hotel was ok, and not very expensive. They were redecorating the very narrow corridor(which was needed)which leeded to our room. The workers seemed a little bit surprised that we where coming. And they clared up so we could pass through. Not very much space in the room, but for that price, and remembering that we were just going to sleep there it was all that we needed. No problem to sleep there another time!

FamilY with two children. We had a pleasant stay. If you search a typical british hotel, it's the good choice. Although the near road, the noise in our room was acceptable, and we appreciated the position near Hide Park.

Everything was ok. The noise outside at night is too high specially if you have problems to sleep. And please do not ask the hotel to phone a taxi for you, it comes a not official taxi without counter machine and he will ask you to pay for a higher fare.

The deluxe room we had was very nice although noise came through the door from the hallway. The lift is very very tiny, one suitcase one person. The staff were friendly, nice & helpful and the breakfast adequate.

It's a good hotel in a beautiful area (Hyde Park). Unfortunately the nearest underground was closed but Paddington is anyway not so far. Staff is very polite and will help you as possible with informations, suggestions...

Excellent location - across from Kensington Palace and Park. Nice rose garden in back. Room was large with good shower altho somewhat noisey...it's an old building, afterall. Great old pub around the corner...The Swan...to which you can "pop around for a swift half" and some fish/chips.

The location of the hotel is great for exploring London. Outside noise from the street is loud but is pretty standard for large cities. The quad on the forth floor they put us in was incredibly cramped. The elevator didn't work on the last day and we had to haul our luggage downstairs by ourselves. When my wife spoke to an employee about the elevator, she was told "it's not working". Duh. There was no offer to help with the luggage or even to call someone to help. The service in the restaraunt was terrible. The continental breakfast was barely edible.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms that we stayed in (below ground floor) were very spacious and clean. These rooms were also free of street noise. Breakfast was adequate (continental style) with the option of an english breakfast at a slightly higher price. Very close to Paddington station and Lancaster Gate tube station. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at the London Elizabeth for three nights early April 2006. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and the hotel was small, charming and very English. We had two triple rooms and one was quite small, but the big balcony compensated for that. We thorughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose the London Elizabeth next time we're in London.

As previous reviewers have noted, the rooms are very noisy due to poor windows and a very busy street. Bring ear plugs. The quad room was a large double room with two extra cots. They were ok for young children but not older teenagers. On the positive side, the staff are extremely friendly and professional, the location is nice and the rooms are quite ok. We would stay again.

Overall the "value for money" offered here was good for London standard. The location next to Hyde Park is good, the hotel and the rooms are old, but OK, the room we got was very small (not like on the picture) and the bed was small and really terrible. If we do not get a larger room next time with a much better bed, we will go for something else.

Exceptionally well placed hotel. The twin room was a little small and we were very disappointed that the rooms had no tea/coffee. However breakfast made up for no 'makings' and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definately stay again if the internet rates still apply.

I can't say enough about this hotel - it was a truly wonderful experience & one that will be repeated every time I'm in London. The location is absolutely perfect: in the middle of everything, yet just on the outskirts enough so that you're not overwhelmed. We stayed in a small double, but it was exactly the size we needed. This hotel is totally worth the price!

The complimentary continental breakfast is a bit limited for anyone who is lactose intolerant, but other than that the hotel was lovely. You really couldn't ask for a more convenient location being right across the street from both a tube stop and Hyde Park.

Commento di sicuro positivo per questo albergo.La camera tripla accogliente e spaziosa, mancava solo il bollitore che generalmente e' un must degli alberghi londinesi. Bagno grande e pulito e soprattutto acqua calda abbondante.Buona colazione servita in una bella sala.Personale gentile e disponibile.

I stayed at the hotel in october 2005 for three nights with my husband. The building and the fournishings were neglected but my room was spacious and clean. I had some disappointment about the cold welcoming. I had to pay for room service also for taking tea in the hall! There are not many shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Therefore my journey was pleasant but it could be better.

We had a room on the 4th floor of this hotel. I would avoid using the stairs while carrying luggage, otherwise not too far to the top level for any reasonably fit traveller, the small lift is available for others, or with luggage. Room was huge and very nicely appointed, especially for the price. Our room fronted onto Lancaster Gate whice is a very busy traffic interchange. Double glazed windows, when closed, let in very little traffic noise from the busy street below. The trouble was, our room was uncomfortably hot, even in late September. The ceiling fan had only a small effect which meant we had to have the windows open during the day (room was cooler at night). The traffic noise with the windows open was about the same as if we were standing at the bus stop next to the hotel!! Thats my only quibble with what was otherwise a pleasant stay. Continental breakfast included or you can pay extra for cooked english brekky. Fantastic location as mentioned, with buses and tube right outside the door and the grounds of Hyde Park across the road. Would stay again but with a room not on the top floor and not facing the street.

Unlike many other customers we had a very quiet room that was more spacious than our average experience in London/UK with a fan which was great in the late summer heat. Very friendly staff and sufficient continental breakfast.

Although common areas are superb, and location on north side of Hyde park is great, the room itself was noisy (due to street below) and small/cramped w/4 of us as a family. Rooms were clean but VERY dated. For the price, we felt it should have been more updated. (Bedding was old/sparse) Breakfast was lovely.

I stayed with group of 4 in one room - it was spacious with 4 twin beds (2 nice and firm, but comfy, 2 a little too soft) and lovely bathroom with shower and tub; walls are thin, so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs - but we were on back side away from street noise; staff were wonderfully friendly, location next to Lancaster Gate tube perfect and nice access to Hyde Park; breakfast included and much more than typical European Continental; we were there 4 July and they had 4 July barbeque for 5 EURO all u can eat and fireworks after -- would definitely stay again. Good value and service.
