You should be aware of where you are and how much you pay for it and you won't be disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. We arrived early in the day and were checked in right away. It wasn't until after the checkin that we were told the rooms wouldn't be ready before 3, but could leave our luggage and it will be put in our rooms as soon as they are ready. In many other places you can be glad if they let you just drop off the luggage... The rooms were a lot bigger that I expected. Unlike others commented here, I liked the small breakfast room with it's big tables, that you might have to share with others and get to talk to people from around the world. Also some negatives: Although (small) showers are in the room, the toilet is not. Rooms on the upper floors might have problems getting enough hot water. Had 2 rooms, ground floor was fine, 3rd difficult to handle the warm water supply. breakfast only till 8:45am

Hotel services are really basic (from ultra-tiny bathroom to breakfast), nevertheless everything worked, location is great and price acceptable, esp. for London. If you're not too spoiled, go for it.

Were not aware of the hallway toilets when booked. No deadbolt for the door. I opened the door with my credit card in about 2 seconds. Door jambs need replacing for something for the lock to hold. Could have been fixed for pennies.

Cheap and serviceable. Do not expect anything other a clean bed, and minimal breakfast. Boiled egg, toast, jam, coffee and tea. But you are there to see London right?? easy access to tube, cheap pubs and markets nearby.

Toilet in the corridor is far below expected standard. Guests should be informed that there is no elevator and no change of towels. The capacity in the breakfast room is too low.

Worst room we stayed in on our whole trip. Only advantage was closeness to underground station and some good restaurants.

The staff at the Windsor was very helpful. The gentleman that was there when we arrived was kind enough to take give me a phone call that rang for me when we arrived. He was very helpful. It is very close to the tube and there are plenty of places to eat and drink immediately surrounding the hotel. It's a good value. The only negative comment would be regarding the shower - it had a moldy/mildewy smell. Other than that, everything was good. The breakfast is also excellent - toast, cereal, coffee, milk, and a soft boiled egg.

I searched endlessly for accomodations in London for our family of 5 and was very pleased with Windsor House. It is exactly as described: clean, basic accomodations in a great location. I made arrangements on line and the attendant was waiting for us upon our midnight arrival. Our room was set up with 1 double and 3 single beds and it had a very small yet efficient bathroom (we never used the shower so I can not comment on hot water - there was hot water in sink). Ceiling height was over 15 feet so even though the room was small it felt big. Our room was 1 level up from the main one but that was still about 20 stairs. There are many stairs in the building. Breakfast was in the lower level and served coffee, toast, spreads and boiled egg. Not fancy; yet filling. Everything was clean and the service was efficient. We had an early departure and the attendant not only made all arrangements to ensure a taxi for us at 4:30AM - he also made us a tray of breakfast items (bread and spreads and juice) for us to have in the room because we were leaving earlier than their breakfast service. The underground was less than 3 minute walk from Windsor House and the place is located on a quiet street. We used the kitchen in the lower level one night to feed to family. Again, do not expect anything above what is described. It is a clean, convienently located basic place for a great price - it served our family well. We paid 72 Bpds/night for our family of 5.

A very cheap hotel, very close from Earl court station , and shops .. The room was tiny, clean but no more.. The lavatory was not in the room, but it was a private one ... The shower was not so nice, but at least it was hot water. The breakfast was small but acceptable. Credit card has been accept, but with a special charge of 8 £. Anyway, a good stay for little budget.

It was a really big surprice that the hotel didn´t take creditcard (visa/mastercard) and that the staff insisted on the full payment in cash in advance, even thou it turned out to be a problem, to get hold on that amount at that time of day (Monday 6 pm), they could have been more helpful. But an even bigger disappoinment was it to learn that the hotel didn´t register our confirmation 48 hours prior to the stay, and that we were only minutes from missing the room. Yours Michel Amsen

The Windsor House is a quite cheap place to stay in central London. The Location is excellent (only a 2 minutes-walk to Earls Court Station) with lots of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. The rooms are absolutely basic but clean. They provide a bed for the night, not more. Breakfast ist OK (coffee, boiled egg an Toast). Important for families: The Hotel can´t provide small beds for little children.
