I arrived really early at the hotel and was immediately booked into a basement room in order for me to shower and start my tour of London. Whilst the basement room did not have any view it was really nice and spacious, with a decent sized bathroom, and all the fittings were modern. When my BA flight was cancelled and I was stranded in London, the hotel booked me into a 1st floor room. This room was a lot smaller than the basement room, but it was still clean and the bathroom had modern finishes. Its really close to the Kings Cross station, and its in Zone 1 so if you're sightseeing or shopping then you should mostly stay in Zone 1 which makes it cheaper than when you have to cross zones. I would recommend this hotel if you're cost conscious but still want to stay in Central London.

The rooms are small but very clean and quiet. The hotel is in a central zone, king's cross metro stop is almost in front of the building.

Location is very good, close to tube and train stations, there are restaurants and supermarkets around. room is small but it's sufficient. lobby of the hotel is very small and no public computer available in the lobby but free wi-fi is working well. there's no lift in the hotel though it's not a problem for me.

Holy crap, what a small room! The hotel is a series of row houses with walls knocked out to form a single connecting building, but no elevator and tight stairs surpassed only by Amsterdam's. One towel shared by my wife and I. Second smallest toilet/shower ever. Internet wifi had problems first night, and the cute Russian chick didn't know how to reboot the wireless. Having said that, the staff was very friendly, the cost very reasonable for London, and the location an easy walk to King's Cross tube station. We got what we paid for.

I'm only going to say this: I have stayed in some pretty shabby hotels in my time, but nowhere was the price-to-quality ratio so bad. The beds were narrow, completely inappropriate for any type of sleep, the room was tiny and hot, the en-suite shower was, frankly, a disgrace, with water pooling by the exit and never being drained. The access stairs were narrow and creaky and for all that, I paid a totally unacceptable amount of money.

Our room was very tiny, but we just wanted a place where to sleep and with private bathroom. When we arrived the shower wasn't working but after asking for assistance the staff was very quick. The price should have been even lower, but we were at exactly 2 minutes from King's Cross Station.

We stayed in a camper caravan which was bigger than the room and toilet we had. No room for your belongings or little details like a switch to turn off the light next to the bed, that, of course, didn´t have a reading light. and was 1,20 m. wide for two people.

It's difficult to stay here for those who are disabled and with children, especially little kids on pushchairs since there is no available lift in the hotel. Basic items found in a typical hotel like daily supply of new soap, shampoo or toothpaste are lacking.

I recommend this hotel. The rooms are really small, and then recommend it for stays of 2 to 3 days. At 50 meters, there is the train station and subway, a Starbucks for breakfast, a few restaurants and a pub o'neill's where you can eat cheaply.

A two minute walk from St Pancras in a quiet street and that in central London for 45 Pounds a night! OK the room is very small and the bathroom tiny, but clean and quiet. Absolutely no frills, not even breakfast, but staffed by helpful, friendly staff. Very good value for money and I walked to Covent Garden in about twenty minutes so it is well situated for central London shopping and tourism.

The room is (very) small (small bed, small bathroom, no cupboards...) but it is clean and the staff is welcoming and competent. The nearness of the train station is a good point and the street is quiet. In a word It is the perfect place for one week-end.

We stayed at the Hotel Wardonia for a week and it was a great choice. The location is wonderful, really close to the St. Pancras and King's Cross Station allowing you to go anywhere either by tube or train. The rooms are very small but also, and this is far more important, very clean. If you are travelling for work or just on vacation, the size of the room doesn't matter, after all you just return to the hotel to have a shower and get some sleep. The staff is very friendly and polite. Next time we go to London, our choice is more than clear, we will be returning there, to the Wardonia.

Tiny room; not worth the price. But reasonably clean, with fresh towels each day. Window does not have screen. Bed has just a light blanket, no sheets. Tiny bathroom does not have any sort of barrier between shower area and rest of room, meaning that the entire room floods everytime you use the shower. Very close to Kings Cross/St Pancras, and even Euston (National Rail). Decent bar right on the corner, with free wifi. Street very noisy at night. Overall, it wasn't terrible, especially if you're not spending much time in the room.

Exactly as described, staff very pleasant, 24 hr reception. Excellent location. Stayed in double room for 3 nights, was small (but as described) clean and fine if you are just wanting a clean bed and suprisingly good shower. You need to be very close to the person you're sharing with (and best to let the other person know when you are opening the bathroom door), bit of a giggle. I will probably look for a little more luxury next time, but had good experience and no complaints.

Really a nice hotel! Very high relationship price/quality! My room was a little bit small, the bathroom is very small, but the overall was very good. Rooms are cleaned every days and we receive every days clean towels. The hotel is very near to city center, in a quite and pretty area. In few meters you can found restaurants, underground and everythings you need and in few seconds you can reach Tower Bridge, Picadilly Circus or Westmister.

I regularly stay in London on business at my own expense and this is a great little find. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable (fresh towels every day). There are no frills but then for the price I wouldn't expect that. Quiet if small rooms, tiny bathrooms but clean and plenty of hot water. If you are tall (ie over 1.85m) single beds may be a bit short. Brilliantly located for Eurostar to Europe and UK mainline and tube stations. Overall a very good value place to stay in London.

Rooms are quite small and the bathroom even more, but considering the price was quite good value for the money. It is near the centre (even walking you arrive to trafalgar square in 15-20 minutes) and quite close to king cross station. All the streets around the hotel are really quiet. We never hear noise from the outside, neither from the other rooms. If you want a room just for sleeping and leave your things, this is perfect.

It's expensive because of the very small room with a little bathroom (you can seat on the toilet while brushing your teeth and while washing your feet under shower :) !)... but for London, it's a very good value ! The rooms where so tiny you could barely move. The shower set-up was terrible- every shower flooded the room. The windows had no screens, and a pigeon came into our room. A homeless man lived in the courtyard below our window, and we witnessed a crime from our hotel room window. The room cost 60 pounds- and was not worth it. DO NOT STAY HERE.

No indications about breakfast, rooms at the upper floor have a microscopic bathroom, sheets are not change daily: is it a hotel or a hostel? One night we had a health emergency and the staff could not help us properly. Our overall vote is low. Not recommended, definitely.

Room too small! And without a closet. But clean and very near to metro station.

Perfect location (close to St Pancras station and King's Cross) but we left the hotel after one night due to condition of room (room on basement level, window facing the brickwall of basement, window broken, room in direct connection with street outside and no lock or fastening on the door - it was scary). Not a good hotel experience at all at the Wardonia. I stayed there for three nights and it was a hotel experience that I wish to forget as soon as possible. I’ve stayed in 100´s of hotels and while this one may not have been the worst, certainly it belongs among the five worst. You can really tell the bottom of the barrel establishments such as the Wardonia from the more respectable hotels by the attitude of the staff and management towards the guests. The girls at the reception, who were Russian, were helpful enough. The real problem with the place seems to be with the people who run the place, who I think are Irish. The first shock was the smallness of the room. The room was en suite but you could not open the door to the bathroom properly because the bed was in the way. It was just plain cramped, like living in a closet. The second shock was the bathroom itself which was just tiny and when you took a shower the entire bathroom floor would within minutes become flooded because there was no partition separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom. It also became quite comical that when I stepped in certain parts of the bathroom floor, simultaneously in other parts water would squirt up from the space in between the tiles in the floor, since the adhesive had worn off. One day I requested a new soap from the person at the reception (one of the people in management, I think) because the one in my room didn’t look fresh (something that I didn’t say to him). "But you already have a soap, sir." He responded, and he proceeded to start an argument over a 3 by 5 centimetre bar of soap. Obviously the old adage: "the customer is always right," meant nothing to him. Eventually, he gave me a new bar of soap and then he came with me into the room, took the old bar of soap from the bathroom and then he stuck it under my nose and said: "this bar has definitely not been used." I would, needless to say, not recommend the Wardonia to any fellow travellers.

The room was indeed tiny. But since we only needed somewhere to sleep and drop our things we didn't really care. The room was clean and we got new towels every day. Remember to bring your own shampoo and shower gel - there is only a cake of soap provided. Walls are rather thin, so you can sometimes here people from other rooms. But it didn't really bother us or kept us from falling asleep. The location is perfect - 2 minutes walk from the underground.

Felt room locks were insecure so did not go running as planned in case stuff stolen. Narrow corridors felt like a fire hazard in case people trying to go in opposite directions

Hotel ideal for one night, very small rooms, clean, 24 hrs recepction, no breakfast but it is not problem in this area, close to tube, good connection with centre by night buses, one of the best relationship between price/quality in London, you get what you pay for, recommended. It is like IBIS hotel but with charm of small London hotels and with better price.

The room was very small, with shower and bath ensuite. With colour TV. The rooms are not very quiet. But if you compare with other London hotels regarding price and quality, it is really a fair offer. And the staff was very friendly. Another advantage: The Wardonia is located very central, perfect.

The hotel is central, and next to King's Cross and St Pancras stations, so that's very convenient for french travellers. That's the reason why I choosed this hotel. I've found the room very clean and the area, with those hotels, very picturesque.

My single room was tiny, even smaller than any hotel room I've ever used in Japan. The bathroom smelled a little mildewy, no doubt because there's no ventilation in it. But the room was otherwise clean and the location was convenient, so for London I can't complain.

The hotel is very close to the main subway line and the railway station. That is a big plus for guests - like us, my 15 years old daughter and me - who want to explore London. We had a twin room but it was very very small. Not even a chair or a little table had space there. When having dinner we placed our food on the floor. In the bathroom was no hook (not even one) to place towels, clothes etc. It was all very tiny and small. The nights had been quiet although or room was on the streetside. The personal was friendly but not overwhelmingly passionate. I recommend the hotel for pragmatic people who wish to have a clean quiet place to sleep when visiting London but have no other demands beyond that. In Germany the price for this type of hotel would be not acceptable but for London it is ok I got told.

The Wardonia is in an excellent location if you are travelling by train, it is just around the corner from Kings Cross at the end of a quiet street. The staff are friendly and competent. The rooms are clean but REALLY small, but was perfect for my needs, which was a one night stop in London. The price was cheap compared to other prices in London and I would have no hesitation to stay again or advise it as a stop off point for anybody else. We had a double bed which was quite small too (to be able to fit in the room I imagine) but comfortable. The TV even had Freeview, but there is no kettle in the room or facility to get a drink in the hotel. A quick trip down to Burger King at the end of the road for that cocoa night cap! Compared to some of the excuses for hotels in London at far greater prices the Wardonia is brilliant.

I thought Wardonia was situated in Covent garden area, when we booked from venere.com, but it's King's cross area, not a nice neighboorhood!! Quite different. We did know the room was going to be small, but there was hardly any fresh air, though we had window open all the time.

This hotel met my needs completely. It provided a clean, recently (albeit cheaply) refurnished, quiet, private and en suite room near King's Cross. The beautiful and newly renovated facade of the building and the pleasant street in which it is located were bonuses. On these bases I have no hesitation recommending the hotel to others. However, those who do not know the hotel should bear in mind that the rooms are really tiny. (Including the bathroom the total area of mine was about 3 - 4 times the size of the single bed.) You would have real difficulties getting massive "intercontintal" suitcases inside the room let alone unpacking them.

I really missed following things at room 409: No bedpost lamps No shampoo in the bathroom No waterboilers and teabags to make your self a cup of tea I lift to get to the top floor ;-)

I've been to London five times before, and this has been the worst hotel I've been to. The lady who received us first night was not helpful at all, she looked as sleepy and annoyed because our arrival time, although we sent an e-mail saying our arrival time and they answered it was no problem with it. But the worst thing was we were downstairs without light or air enough and one of the bathrooms had no shower place properly, it was the floor!!!!Anyway, the location was great, but the hotel has nothing to do with the Bergamo's one or with another ones I've stayed other times in London.
