The rooms were tidy and the service was good: cleaning and changing the towels every day. Breakfirst was ok - the staff was friendly and competent. Only one thing we didn't like very much: our too small bathroom! You couldn't really move in this room. But we enjoyed that all things we needed were just round the corner: restaurants, bars, shops, underground. Very comfortable for us!

The lift has been out of service for six years. We had to carry our luggage to the small room with the little baby. It is exhausting! Though the English breakfast is good. Bye Bye!

Hotel quite well situated, but as seen in other comments, it REALLY needs some "refurbishing" : old curtains, wallpapers not new, bathroom too small turning into a sauna if you take a warm shower because there's no window... Full English breakfast is great for a good start, but this one is not really "full" (no hashbrowns or tomatoes and the quantities given are not that consequent) and the saussages should be avoided (poor and low quality I think). But the waitresses and room cleaners were nice, especially a dark-haired woman who had a really good memory ! It's a good location (not far from Hyde Park and Oxford Street) but the price could/should really be lower given the general aspect of the hotel. PS : Please, REALLY try to mend the sink light in bathroom of room 321 ! ;o)

Stayed here many times beacuse good value for money and clean, but NEVER again. Really bad bathroom, no water in the shower. Tilting bed (tilting floor) kept me awake. Had to pay for wifi (only place ever!). Smell of sewer over the entire hotel!! Really bad stay!

There are no lifts (elevators) in the hotel because it is Victorian, which can be quite cumbersome for carrying luggage and elderly people. Also, just being on the 1st floor, had to go upstairs and then several turns and downstairs to reach the room, which was very very small. Any person that was tall or big would not have coped with the bathroom at all. Although stated bathtub or shower, there was a very small shower. The permanent soap dish was not cleaned. There is a fee to use the Wi-Fi--£3.50 an hour! Also, Continental Breakfast is free, but you must pay £2 extra for a Full-English breakfast. None of this was quoted on the internet. The walls were so thin, and this may have been a rare matter, but our neighbors above sounded like every night at Midnight were entering the room and throwing furniture around! I would never stay there, again. The staff were nice, however.

Right outside paddington station, yes it's small so no chance of using the bathroom or getting up the stairs if you are obese(no working lift) but for London hotels and the price you pay here it is the best value for money you can get for the location.I don't think people realise how small London hotelrooms are but if you expect it it is easier to accept when you arrive!staff friendly and efficient, although some parts worn everywhere remains very clean.breakfast and waitresses also very good.would definitely stay here again for convenience of staying next to paddington. It's cute, quaint, great value for money.

This hotel is pretty good. Very close to the tube and station. Pubs, bars and restaurant around. The staff is very kind and helpful. Unfortunately there's no lift, so if you're at the 4th floor is not the best to carry all the baggages. Our bedroom wasn't very big but enough to sleep and very clean. The only problem was the temperature, it was very very very hot in there and the window wasn't big enough to let the air come in.... All the rest was good, maybe a bit noisy, but not too much! The hotel is doing some works outside and you might not see the signboard at the first sight!! Have a nice stay in London!!

Overall good value for money. *Excellent location, good breakfast and clean rooms. *Loud noises from staircase next to my room, and room above. Low waterpressure in the shower. Some difficulties unlocking the door from inside the room, and window not possible to open all the way. No remote control for the tv. The Royal Norfolk caters to budget travellers, wanting good location and ok and clean rooms for a decent price. Suitable for gruops, single traveller or couples not too concerned with romance and comfort.

Possibly the worst London hotel experience I have had. Plus: clean, reasonable breakfast Minus: tiniest bathroom I have ever seen. I am 5'7" and slim - anyone else would not fit! Tiny TV, no on/off button or remote. Nowhere to leave a laptop. Wardrobe 15" wide, no hanger for trousers. Sticky door lock. Frosted glass windows on 2nd floor room.

Shabby hotel in an interesting, but downscale neigborhood. Excellent access to all parts of London and points beyond due to proximity to Paddington Station. Tiny room with a miniscule bathroom. Noisy street below. Drunken quarrels by night most of the seven nights we spent here. Breakfasts were mediocre.

We are frequent guests. Thank you for arranging the same nice room to us every time! It makes us like coming back to home. However, just a gentle reminder - please fix the lift and install fan in rooms or guests would move to the new hotels nearby. The lift has been out of order for about two years. It is quite hot to stay in the room during summer (There is a cooler in the breakfast room and a fan at the reception, why not the guest rooms?).

The guy on the desk tried to charge me in advance for the stay even though the booking indicated payment after stay. He also seemed a bit hostile and unwelcoming. Then I was given a shoebox room on the 4th floor and there was no elevator operating in the hotel. It is nearly impossible to find your room in the maze of corridors and stair wells. There is no airconditioning (it was 26degC in London). In general the remaining staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is well located for transport and restaurants if a bit noisy due to the bars outside.

the best of it all is the location; next to tube station and overlooking a garden. the worst...the maze-like distribution of the rooms. it took us a while to find ours. i was relieved to see that other guests were wandering up and down the hallways searching for theirs. if you have problems in orientation, please avoid this hotel, otherwise it's fine but nothing to be very proud of. the multiracial staff does its best but still...we won't come back.

Small hotel in old building slightly run down. Rooms are rather small but clean and more than decent. 47GBP per night in a single room in London is very cheap and quality provided for it fair. Easy access to metro, buses and trains in Paddington, good location, lots of restaurants around. Breakfast served at the table, no buffet, 2GBP extra for Full English breakfast rather than Continental (it's worth it!). Will definitely come back for short stay, holiday related.

The room was tiny, and a little bit noisy because the underground station (Paddington) it was under ther hotel. But according to the price of London's hotels, it's a good place to stay. There was no lifts. The breakfast was OK. The personal is kind and the sourrondings of the hotel are very good, you have indian restaurants, burguer king, exchange shops, McDonalds, pubs, chinese food, moroccan food... and the underground in front of the hotel. I reccomend this hotel to young couples who are going to be in the room only to sleep. It's nice and very clean.

This was ideal for a 3 days stay in London. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable of any hotel I have stayed in recent memory. The bathrooms were clean and the bathtubs spacious and inviting. Shower pressure was excellent. The only drawback was the warm weather which made it necessary to keep the window open at night. There was alot of street and pub noise. Overall, I would stay here again.

You can take Heathrow express directly between the airport to here Paddington station, and also available to take 4 differnt of tube lines in this area such as Circle, District, Bakerloo, and Hammersmith & City. Breackfast was good. Room was clean enough. The only one thing, I should ask that if the room has a bath, not only shower room because it's important for Japanese to have relax while staying there.

First, let me say that the location is excellent. We are not difficult to please but I specifically booked this hotel because it listed an elevator. When we arrived, we were given a room on the top floor (4 floors up) and told that the elevator was broken. I understand that problems occur, but we booked our room months ahead of time and we were told that the elevator had been broken for a few weeks (not a last minute problem!). Someone should have notified us before our arrival. The bathroom also left a lot to be desired. Although I suppose it was technically clean, it looked horrible and looked very dirty due to very old flooring and old fittings. Finally, we booked a room for two adults and one child. I had specifically requested one large bed and one single bed. Our room had three single beds. Not satisfactory at all!

This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in!!! I will never stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone. The room they initially gave me was HORRIBLE!!! Room 412-avoid it at all costs! It had a strong musty scent, no windows and moldy walls! The heating was up so high I was sweating and carrying a terrible headache! The room was TINY - cld only fit a single bed infact when u opened the door it hit the bed. I couldnt get in with my suitcase at the same time. I mean I couldnt even begin to turn around in this place. The hotel lifts were broken and my room was on the 4th floor - they have very steep spiralling staircases and the place is like a MAZE! To get to my room I had to go up the stairs, down some staris, up again and then outside onto a bridge and then down some stairs...This is ridiculous! The room they initially gave be was HORRIBLE! I asked for a refund and so they offered to find me another room...It was cleaner, not much bigger, heating was still a problem, and when u put the light on in the bathroom it made a v.loud noise for upto an hr after switching off. You could only flash the toilet once and then had to wait a while before flashing again! If ur going to stay here, and i dont recommend it, avoid room 412 - no one in their right mind would want to stay in it. The staff were very friendly, but i'm afraid no amount of friendliness can ever make up for the hotels numerous ills!!!

Everytime i showered i flooded the bathroom as the shower stall must have been made for vertically and horizontally challenged people. The rating was a 3 star. I would give it a 1. Toilet and shower room very, very small which lowers my opinion of the hotel. Breakfast was said to be buffe style, but for that it was very poor. The hotel could be recommended to young and small people

I was really impressed with the accomodation, the rooms are very clean, neat and quite comfortable. Their winning english breakfast was delicious. The location is central to most london attractions and of cause the london shopping district (oxfort street). I must say it was worth the price, I actually wished I could stay a little longer.

Well, I need to say employees were all nice, kind and very helping. I have to thank all of them one by one. The rooms are quite small but absolutely clean. Well, it's noisy because of all restaurants around, tourists coming and going all the time... but I've slept very well all nights.:) The breakfast in my view was good. I still think the price was a bit high, but anyway, this is London and the service was good. You have access to metro, buses and Taxis very easily. An internet cafe is just on the other side of the street, and all kinds of restaurants are around. Bank and post office are also near. Overall, in comparison to the price you pay, this is a good hotel, yes, I'll come back there.

very clean rooms, 30 second walk to paddington station which is within a 10 minute ride to most major locations in London. Noise from the station was never an issue, beds were clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with providing tickets to the wax museum and were on time with the wake up calls. Only issue was the tiny rooms and tiny bathroom, but thats typical of London hotels.

Have stayed at this Hotel before and had a much more spacious room. Was disappointed with the value for money this time. The location is ideal but noisey.

Good straightforward hotel offering no more and no less than it promises. Price is reasonable and it is conveniently located for Padddington Station. I have stayed before and will likely stay again.

The room was facing the garbage dump of the Burger King with all sorts of fumes coming through. Close to Paddington station so one can feel the rattling of the trains going by from 5am until 2am. The toilet facility in the room was makeshift with a molded garbage can and even when I informed them to remove it, it was still there. Let's just say this is a hostel, good for hitch hikers travelling around who need a room for one night.

My room was extremely tiny! I've never seen such a small room ! The bathroom was extremely tiny. I was not able to have a shower because of missing of space! Moreover, the room was very noisy because of cars and people shouting all the time. The only positive thing was the position, close to Padding Station but that is not a problem in London. In conclusion, I don't recommend this hotel for your staying in London. Too expensive for what you get!

Personnel doesn't smile, except nice lady working at reception desk, the night clerk and boy at breakfast. Rooms are small and old, but very clean ( most important thing ), the hotel is so close to tube station and bus stops. By the way I would come back to this Hotel.

Room itself was not too bad, but the bathroom was really very very small. We have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this one is the smallest we have seen (like being in a caravan). For breakfast you could choose between a continental or English breakfast. Both ok. Underground Station Paddington is only a minute away and there are enough restaurants around the hotel for dinner.

Didn't actually stay at Royal Norfolk. Due to a 'computer error' my party was moved to another hotel. This was the Athena Hotel, which was not far away in Sussex Gardens, but still a slight inconvenience.

Excellent location for travelers; very close walk to Paddington station/Heathrow Express. The twin room we stayed in was small with a tiny shower room, but very clean. Breakfast area is charming, but the included breakfast is not great. Desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Tiny hotel but comfortable. Breakfast not abundant (no buffet) but you can choose between English or continental breakfast. Cleanliness regular with change of bed sheets and towels. Its very quick and near to Paddington Rail Station and tube station, a lot of fast foods and steak houses near the hotel.

Very reasonably priced for triplet room during peak season and staff were very accomodating. Breakfast is included in the price and is served at your table. Reception is manned 24 hours a day so there is no problem with coming back late after gigs, shows etc.

We had a good time! Nice spacious room, good beds and a nice bathroom. We were not bothered by noice from the train station even though we had the windows open at night. Nice breakfast room and friendly staff. Only comment: We were asked to pay for the entire stay when checking in, which was not mentioned anywhere when we booked the room. However, as there were no problems during the stay we didn't pursue the matter. Nice hotel, would come again :-)
