Our room which had a window on the alley was one of the quietest rooms we've ever stayed in. The hotel itself is on a quiet side street near the South Kensington tube which is on the Piccadily tube line direct to Heathrow. 2 blocks away are many shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Internet in the room didn't work and the lady at the reception looked very uninterested and didn't move a thing to get it sorted out. I discovered on the second day that the LAN cable is broken... when diving under the table to see the cables I found lots of dust and dirt.

The lift didn't work when we arrived, and we effectively had a 5th floor "walk up" for 2 out of 3 nights we were in the hotel. We thought we had booked one suite and one regular room which turned out to be an oversized room. The other room for our two children didn't have airconditioning and we were offered a fan, and finally the receptionist was able to locate an A/C for them. The girls who helped with the bags getting us up 5 flights of stairs were the best part of the show. The receptionist seemed to feel that we shouldn't be given any kind of consideration with respect to our 5th floor "walk up". I asked for some free time on the compter in the hotel, and eventually a few hours on the internet was grudgingly given. I wouldn't stay at your hotels again.

I was very lucky, because they offered me a suite at the price of a standard room. This is probably not usual. I loved the Hotel and the location. I recommned it!

The Gallery is a pleasant and convenient hotel in the heart of London. We recieved very good service and the breakfasts were plentiful! We would appreciate being informed of any special rates that you might offer from time to time.

Very old hotel and furniture, need maintenance, holes in the blankets and noisy room (a triple in the first floor). The room smellt not good. Nice position near the Museums and Underground stations. Close to the hotel there are many restaurants, internet points, and shops open 24h (Tesco).

Our reservation specified a twin room and a double room for single use. My wife finally came with me and we were willing to pay rhe difference printed on our reservation with the price of a double for double use or that of a twin (27 GBP per day)if available. The owner insisted on an increase of 65 GBP per day so we stayed only one nignt. The emplyees present were understanding, and called the owner four times to no avail.

The main good point of this hotel is its situation (good surroundings, near the station Gloucester Road, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Natural History Museum... ) and the charming and cosy British typical decoration. But... the room I had was very cramped (not as worthy as stars of the hotel), very noisy (room on street without double glazing and not isolated) - I could'nt sleep until 2 a.m - (when there were less people and cars in the neighbouring streets... and I was very tired), the air conditionning was very loud, the welcoming and reception a quite not very cordial, thebreakfast room is without sight and feel a little cellar... For the price, it's not a positive ratio price/quality, but just for one night, if you want be in a good situation and you have earplugs, it's maybe OK !

Excellent location, close to Tube, buses, museums. Elegant hotel, quiet, very good breakfasts. The air conditioning system is improvised (try to imagine London being really hot!)noisy, but working nevertheless. Would recommend to others. Stayed on business but it is also perfect for holidays.

Very good location; from the windows you can see the entrance of V&A and Natural History Museum; only few minutes from bus and tube stop (South Ken, two or three lines). Very nice and large public areas (lobby and breakfast room in Arts and Crafts style, with tapestry , wallpaper and forniture by Morris & co), small rooms (a big air conditioning unit - not necessary at the moment- makes difficult your life, your moving etc, when you are in the room). For some rates, full breakfast is included (check and ask for it; it was a nice surprise)

Because of the US dollar devaluation, this was a very expensive accommodation for the room we had. Great location! However, the breakfast is wonderful and was included in the price. The room was furnished nicely. The bathroom was nice, except when showering water was all over the place and if others are using the shower the water pressure was reduced greatly. Desk personnel were less than friendly and did not even greet us when we arrived.

This is a beautiful quaint english hotel in a lovely area of London. Clean rooms, althought in typical European style, they are very small, but that's fine as they were comfortable. Really nice breakfast room with that homely feeling. Certainly would stay here again!

Look elsewhere, avoid Hotel Gallery if you desire quality, service and quietness. Our stay was a nightmare from start to finish. First, we were not given an off-street room as requested. Second, water began leaking from the ceiling light-fixture over the bed during the first night. We were moved to an even noisier room. Early the next morning fire alarms began. There was no fire. Thankfully. We cut our stay short was not compensated but found a much better hotel. Other patrons were having problems, too.

Very very tiny rooms. Expensive compared to the size, but London isn't cheap in general anyway. The map should specify the street location a little better. There was another street with a very similar name, but it was a deadend. The hotel's street was only about 1 block away though, so it wasn't a big deal. Didn't really use the hotel for much more than to sleep and shower. They did let me check in a few hours early (my room was ready early). They also arranged my cab for departure and held my bags for the day until the cab arrived. Very nice overall and helpful staff. Great location too. Would stay there again.

We had a very pleasant stay, staff was very nice, welcoming and helpful. We had two rooms and both of them were very quiet and clean. The only improvement that could be done would be the extra bed we had for the kid (a bit old)

We enjoyed our stay very much, had a nice and quiet room. The location is excellent. The employees were friendly but gave us the impression that they were not really trained for their jobs, especially the ones who served breakfast. What we did not like so much was the music program in the breakfast room - opera and viennese waltz and all a bit too loud.

Perfect location for Fulham and Chelsea. The hotel is a short walk from the tube, ideal for those not familiar with London. The hotel is very tidy, grand and very pleasant to stay in.

Overall the hotel was fine apart from the noise level from outside in the evening. We had a room on the first floor which faced the road - it was extremely noisy from midnight until 2am. One other gripe, we booked a triple room and the third single bed was a camp bed - not what we expected fro the money and not very comfortable for a teenage child.

Room was too small for two people, expecially our bed. That's was the worst thing. The rest was good considering price and hotel's position.

Absolutely fabulous location, near museums, tube and Carluccio's. Great front and nice, small, 'clubby' lobby. Rooms small but cosy, although window pane was cracked. Appallingly disinterested and rude reception staff, who kept everybody waiting. I had booked a standard double through Venere.com but was told at check-in that only a small double was available; no price discount was offered! After a row, the booking was referred to the manager and a standard double was eventually found. Couldn't get a drink in the evening because the porter was off, so we were sent across the road to sister hotel (which wasn't as charming, although the staff were much nicer). If The Gallery could only get the front-of-house staff issue settled, it would be a cert for repeat visits, thanks to great location and price.
