This bed and breakfast hotel is very well located close to Victoria Station ; the employees are very kind, the english breakfast very consistant and good. The only reserve I could have is related to the smalness of single bedrooms : I don't know if mine was over 8 square meters, and the shower room's waist was average 1.6 m2! A lift should be relevant, especially when your bedroom is on the last floor upstairs! But, nethertheless, it's a very good opportunity to spend a few nigths in London Center.

+ can't really think of anything in particular - hotel has no parking lot and you don't get a discount anymore if you park in a nearby car park. you can only park for 4 hours in the streets surrounding the hotel (we got a fine...) - the breakfast is served in the basement (unpleasant) and the continental breakfast is very basic - the 'bathroom' is very small. you can't go to the toilet with the door closed.

Hotel carino e molto comodo per una breve vacanza (4 gg). Vicino al centro, ai pullman e alla metropolitana e con attorno vari localini dove mangiare. Purtroppo la stanza era al piano -1 quindi la vista era sulla lavanderia pero' forse questo ha fatto si che fosse molto tranquillo. Forse un po' scarsa la colazione, sia quella inglese che quella continentale.

Stanley House is in an excellent location. It's very basic but that's all you really need. Five minutes walk from Victoria Station, you can get anywhere in London quite easily. There are shops, restaurant, a grocery and a theater box office a few blocks. Trains to and from the airport make the Stanley House very convenient.

The accomodation is very suitable for families with young children due to its nearness to the most important turistic sites and the transportation means (Bus, Train and Metro Station). The forniture is as a 2 stars Hotel but the maintenance is good (repainting, new moquette, no smoke smell, no dust). We stayed in a quadruple room with ensuite bathroom and all was good: enough space (also in the bathroom), the shower was well working; small balcon on the road; towels were changed each day, the sheets were well clean. Beautiful and quiet surroundings (english style) with a lot of cheap (for London!)restaurants. The employees were very nice: I claimed for the hairdryer in the evening and the day before it was already fixed! The only problem (for me because I have some pains in my back) was the bed: the materass was damaged.

La verdad es que el hotel era limpio, pero las instalaciones son bastante antiguas y el baño es diminuto, tanto que no se podía usar el wc con la puerta cerrada...y no es exageración! This is a simple hotel with a very reasonable price, The location is a street that runs between Victoria station and Victoria Coach station, and the hotel is an easy walk from both. The block on which it's located is lined with inexpensive hotels and B&Bs. It's on the edge of a very pleasant and quiet neighborhood; It's near Parliament and Buckingham Palace. You can hear Big Ben ringing from the hotel room. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Because I had an early departure, they got together some things for me to eat in the morning. The room was reasonably sized and simply furnished. There were not many outlets in the room, and there was no wifi. I'm not sure if they had other internet access available. There is no lift, but there are only three stories in the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bath was adequate. There was no shampoo nor other toiletries in the bath, but there were small bars of soap. The towels were of good quality. Since the price was particularly reasonable for London, I would judge the quality/price ratio to be very high.

the younger employee was very nice and helped us with his own personal pc because we needed to log on a website for a check-in online. breakfast was not excellent but that's london... we were three people and the room we were given was for four, so it was quite spacious if compared to the ones i was used to everytime i went to london. the surroundings were excellent - but you need to walk like 5-10 minutes to victoria station, though it is a very convenient position to go everywhere. so far the best relationship quality vs price in central london.

Fire doors were blocked meaning forced open. In case of fire that could be critical. The management did not act in spite of it was told. Actual, I did close the fire door outside our room but still the management should have arranged all fire doors in function.

We were traveling with friends.There were lot of space at least in our rooms (twin and triple). Only the shower was so small, I can't imagine how can one man take a shower there (we were slim women). English breakfast was good. And the best part- as we paid cash we got 10% discount!

what do u expect from one b&b in london?? if you want just sleep and be in central part of the town this is the right place, if you are used to much more and better, well for sure can pay much more than 25 pounds for person to sleep in centre of town. This is the second time I have travelled to London with my family and we have stayed in this hotel again. The building is old, but well located. The full english breakfast is very good to begin your day. Staff kind and thoughtful. Meet our expectations.

This was the first time we went to London. Stayed for 2 nights. When we got there we noticed it was very hot downstairs and didn't smel very fresh. When we got up to our room (2nd floor), we found out all the radiators were on the max. temperature and could not be turned off. Because this was right below the window, no fresh air could enter the room. The rooms were tidy though, and the bathroom was clean. Didn't sleep much that night, as it was very noisy through the night. Woke up one moment because I burned my foot to the radiator, which was still on! Breakfast was ok, not very special. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. Victoria station in about 5 minutes walk, Eye of London and Big Ben are easy to walk to, as is the Buckingham Palace. Second night we spent somewhere else, so since we didn't spend a lot of time there it was fine.

Is it possible to find a good quality / Price Hotel in London, may be not Stanley hotel is quite old, really noisy (we were in the basement) There were no shampoo in the shower (they told us to go the shop close to the hotel) Break-fast are standardized and quality is poor. Welcoming is unpleasant. Lastly, they don't apply the VAT cut off. 2 good points however, beds are confortable and location is very interresting.

I think cots must be aviable. The breakfast must be medium size not small-small size. The small lamps in the room don´t work, so it is a problem. Exactly there were 2 rooms(number 8 and number 34) that present some problems: Room number 8, is overheat, and room number 34 was cold.

Mi familia y yo hemos estado el Puente de la Constitución en Londres en Stanley House Hotel en una habitación triple. La habitación tenía dos cama: una matrimonial y otra más pequeña, nos hubiera gustado que hubiera habido tres camas pero bueno no estaban mal. La limpieza de la habitación bien, el baño demasiado pequeño pues solo coge una persona. El sitio céntrico, fenomenal para desplazarte por la orilla del Támesis. Nosotros les pedimos descuento al pagar con dinero y nos hicieron 10 libras de descuento, ue seguramente era lo que les iban a cobrar de comisión si pagábamos con tarjeta. El edifiio por fuera tiene una presencia de cine, luego por dentro es otra historia, pero creo qu todos lo del centro de este estilo son así. Si uieres alojarte en un buen hotel ya sabes lo que te toca: poner más de 150 Libras por noche. Como lo hemos pasado tan bien no me importaría repetir.El clima parecido a de nuestra ciudad: Burgos, aunque se pegaba más la humedad.

The room was located at de 3rd floor by stairs. That is a situation that you has to tell us because it is unconfortable to go up . Also the maid open frecuently our door while we were resting, and near you can find better places at the same or lowe price.

it is in a very good position, (Victoria train and coach stations are very close to the hotel) everything is well reachable in a few minutes. The hotel is old and not well kept, the breakfast is included , considering quality/price and if you need to sleep only you can choose it... if you require more relax, comforts, etc... you have to choose other kind of hotels ...!

I was travelling by myself and wanted to be near Victoria Station. I got the right hotel with the right price. I did not expect to be in teh Ritz hotel. The reception was very kind and accomodating. My room was clean dotted with the necessary facilities. I got what I wanted.

We stayed in this hotel in for bed room, from 2-6 October, 2008.I really advice to stay in this hotel all travelers who don't have very high requirements.I really think that it provides very good balance between price (that is cheap) and services provided.You can choose between English breakfast and Continental breakfast. You can get also free London city map.We stayed in the top floor, therefore it was very calm-You don't hear cars and other transportation.We were lucky-our neighbours were calm.Hotel also provides towels and room are cleaned every day! Very good location-few minutes from Victoria coach and railway station.

I have stayed at other budget hotels in London. By comparison I found Stanley house very clean, well-priced and well-located. I have stayed there twice and would do so again. People of varying ages and nationalities were staying at the hotel, and all seemed satisfied.

it's a low budget hotel and that's exactely what you get. staff is not really friendly, don't ask too much at the breakfast table (they flat out refused to give scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up!) and rooms and bathrooms are really small. But it's london and everything is expensive over there. the location is quite good though, close to victoria station... oh yeah, no luggage room!

Our double room was very little. A double bed fit the width of the room. There was a little shower/wc built inside a box in the room. Anyway I recommend it because was cheap, clean and near to the Victoria station. The english breakfast was poor and early. At 9 AM you cannot find anything.

In centro a due passi da Vistoria station, dove si trova la tube, i collegamenti per gli aeroporti e il treno, il quartiere tranquillo per rientrare anche a tarda notte. I liked the hotel very much. Really lovely old house. Very good location - Victoria station just 5 minutes walk, Tesco shop over the corner. English breakfast was wonderful, kids liked cereals more, and staff was very friendly. Room was clean and big enough, towels were changed every day. TV and hairdrier in room. We stayed for 6 nights and were in room for 4. Toilet and shower were in room. Card accepted. Maps and travelguid books are available. I have been telling everyone to visit this hotel in London. I will next time. No pretensions for Stanley House Hotel at all.

The single room with bathroom I had booked had some deficiency so I was given another room on the top floor with twin beds and bathroom in the corridor + price reduced with 10 pounds per night. The room was clean enough but very simple, the bed lamps did not work, and the room could not be locked from the inside. The employee on duty apologized. The breakfast was OK. You get what you pay for but I would not recommend this hotel to friends

We chose the Stanley House due to its location near Victoria Station. However, it was a disaster. Our room was closest to the front desk and front door. There was hair between the sheets on my bed. The bathroom was so small it was practically useless. The carpet was dirtier than any carpet I've ever seen in my life. The bedding was very old. People were arguing and talking outside of our room until 1 a.m. At 1:15 a.m., a woman used a key to open our door, noticed we were in there, and backed out. The man at the front desk said, "Give me that key!" In the morning, we explained our dissatisfaction with the hotel. To describe this hotel, I would use the word "skanky." We were not charged for the night's stay, thankfully. The breakfast provided was nice. I'm sorry it didn't work out, since the location is so great.

The hotel is well located near Victoria Station, the area is nice. You get what you pay for. Small bathrooms but it works. The reception is closed at night so you cannot have a late arrival (we had to find another hotel the first night)

Staff really rude, room really dirty and hot water not working properly. Did not accept debit cards by natwest which we found a bit weird as it is a huge british bank. Staff kind of rude when we arrived at 2 am, which is the last thing we wanna meet that time. Room was dirty, we found hair in the bed and on the floor. Bathroom extremely dirty, has not been propperly cleaned in a long long time. It took 5-10 mins before the water got hot, and when we complained we were told that "of course we have hot water! It's a hotel!" and then we got reminded that we had to check out in 15 mins. Good location close to Victoria, but defenetly not worth the £60 we paid for en-suite double bedroom, even in London!

When we arrived, they gave us a room for 3 which was very small, old and a bit dirty (no matter how the chambermaid tried to clean it). In the afternoon, my 3 yo son wanted to take a shower, we found out that the shower didn't have the hot water, we called the reception, who came up to show us how to use it, but then, there was still no hot water, after 3 temptations of the hotel staff (nice staff, helpful) to provide us with hot water in the shower, they gave us another room, which with much surprise, was cleaner, spacious (room & bathroom), new, quiet, not smelly, on the first floor. No 10% discount for cash payment, since we booked it from venere and not from their own website. English breakfast, loved it, nice chat with the staff. We were in London for Chess Musical, certainly be back in this hotel for our next London visit. Thank you ^^

Stanley House is a very nice place to stay if you're on a holiday in London or planning a short stay in the city. Perfect location, a quiet place to rest after a long day of traveling in the city, friendly staff, clean rooms albeit really small. The latter won't be a problem unless of course you're planning to spend the whole day in the hotel! The food is also fine. It's not luxurious but you'll have to cough up a lot more for a spacious room with modern furniture in London. I dare say it's probably the best value for money for this type of hotel you can get in this big megapolis! Really satisfied! Thanks for the experience!

I traveled as a single guy who needed a cheap room for the night. This hotel provided exactly that. The room was small but provided enough space for one person and was clean except for the shower which had a lot of mold on the wall. The location was nice; a 5 min walk to Victoria station and there were numerous restaurants in the area with normal prices (away from the major tourist areas.) The hotel staff were very nice and competent. I was in town for the marathon and needed to keep my luggage someplace while I ran. They hotel didn't have an extra room for storage but the staff allowed me to keep my bag in the lobby with no problems and to use the community bathroom to clean up and change once I returned from the run. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap place without the frills.

For the price one wouldn't expect much. The worst were the partying & screaming people all night in the hallways & no one came out to quiet them. They lied about taking credit cards, two different stories about the card machine. Each person had a different version of what cards don't work with their machine. Their sentnce where to pick up cash seemed extremely well versed.

Very good location for a 3 days trip to London... Quite cheap compared with other hotels offering quite the same facilities...I would definitely return to this hotel. There was 2 types of problem during my trip : 1. the noise during the night, my room was near of the reception and some nights were difficult.. 2.a problem of flush and no hot water constrained us not to use bathroom during two days... In spite of these problems, the adress is a good one.

Staff of the hotel were always very friendly, even if they had customers, who were not so friendly towards them. Shower of our room worked well and was fairly OK (we expected we will have problems with it, because of other's comments in this site). Size of the room was sufficient. The room wasn't very clean, either other premises were not as well. Breakfast room was quite small and breakfast itself wasn't so splendid, but staff was again quite friendly, which is most important. No luxury at all, but it was one of the cheapest place we found, so we didn't expect more. Location was excellent, you don't necessary need to use public transportation to go to the heart of London, if you have got used to walk a lot.

Stanley House is really situated 300 m from Victorai Station . You may use bus nr 24 for 1 station. Be attentive to electricity system-you must hire( from the reception desk) an adaptor. You will have to pay a warranty of 5 Pounds.

The Hotel is a bit dirty (especially the carpets) and the stairs are very high, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. They serve delicious English Breakfast with bean, ham, egg, toast and coffee or tea (and additionally butter and marmalade). The blankets on the beds were old and burnt out, but the bed-linen were crunchily clean. Perfect view from many rooms to the London Eye.

There were no towels and the rubbish tin had not been emptied from the previous occupier. The bathroom door would not close. As a mature couple we were pleased to be offered a ground floor room as there is no lift. It is a budget hotel but we found it suitable to our needs and a very good breakfast was provided

El hotel era más o menos como esperabamos. Comparando precios con otros, estaba bien. Lo único que no me cuadró fue que alquilamos una habitación triple (con 3 camas según las fotos) y nos encontramos con dos camas, una de matrimonio amplia y otra normal. También ponia que se podría dejar el equipaje, pero el hotel no tiene ningún espacio para ello. El baño es minúsculo, pero aseado. El hotel tranquilo, y el desayuno... pues típico inglés, pero el servicio fue correcto.

Premier séjour à Londres, situation de l'hôtel idéal à proximité du métro et du bus (ligne 25). Rapport qualité/prix intéressant pour une ville comme Londres. L'hôtel s'apparente plus à une pension qu'à un 2 *: chambre petite, salle d'eau petite, bâtiment vieillot mais entretenu. Bon accueil, petit-déjeuner correct dans une salle familiale située au sous-sol. Idéal pour le tourisme, toutefois voyageur exigeant s'abstenir, bonne adresse pour les autres.

Urge actualizar el Mobiliario, cortinas y cubrecamas. Que por favor haya algún empleado que ayude a subir las maletas. Nos tocó una habitación en el cuarto piso y sin elevador. No hay un punto de internet y aún con nuestra propia Laptop, nunca pudimos conectarnos a la red.

I've read all the feedback, and I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed for 3 nights and for 60 pounds a night just the locations makes up for it. Our room was clean. We had a on suit bathroom that was clean as well. We stayed in number 11 (3rd floor). The breakfast that was included was in the acceptable range. I would recommend this place if you are just looking for a place to sleep, looking for a place with easy access to all the sites Yes they need some decorating advise as nothing matched in the room - Hehehe but that is not a reason to down grade this budget Hotel - you should expect things like that.

Optimum hotel, in good position and very quite zone. raccomended!

The room corresponded to what we expected according to previous comments (£85/day- quadruple room- breakfast included)and anyway wa came back late at night. The only unpleasant surprise was that the water of the shower was extremely hot (whereas we heard that some rooms had only cold water). 5 min walk from Victoria, 20 min from Westminster or Bukingham. Losts of restaurants and pubs arround.
